Rosie, Thanks.... What got me thinking about it was the number of Damaged Xr6 T's at the auctions.... and being able to grab one CHEAP...... Strip it out completely, and have some fun !!!....... Every man and his dog as a Jap pocket rocket, but I'd like to show up with a SLEEPER !!! and HAVE FUN....... Think I forgot to mention, I'd just like to have some fun...... I had my xr6t and absolutely LOVED it..... Did equivalent of Gold Coast to Byron Bay in 19 minutes.... But on a CLOSED TRACK of course...... Was the only car I've driven that I had a smile on my face, EVERY time I drove it...... I miss my T........

OK, Thanks guys... so it would seem the concensus is NO..... Get a small / light JAP car and flick it around..... So it looks like a 32GTR is the go then...... My idea was mainly for a track day, where I'm just out having a blast...... and maybe Targa Tasmania..... I've done the full on motorsport with Karting overseas, and it was a money pit.... something I don't want this time..... You've gotta be able to have FUN...... Thank you all.... Thanks guys for the feedback..... I know it's a heavyish car, but there is no substitute for a 4.0L turbo..... They are not a crap car... they DO turn well, and with proper suspension & brakes it would be a great car on a track.......and possibly a Targa Rally or two.... Plus there are quite a few XR6T's at the damaged car auctions.... which would be perfect...... I like a R32 Skyline, being a small and light car, but the it's a much smaller engine..... this was my first thought for a car..... Decisions decisions......

Hi guys, Been a few years since I've been here, and, not sure if this has been talked about in any way..... I'm contemplating buying a cheapy old BA-BF turbo, and, setting it up as a track/race car....... I LOVED having my car, and, think that it's potential on atrack, such as Qld Raceway would be fantastic, As long as I could manage : 1. Cooling 2. Transmission 3. Brakes & Suspension.... Initially would work on making the car lighter, by stripping out the interior, spare wheel etc..... Any thoughts about this ?? Not worth the hassle etc ??? I don't need or want a 9 second car, I just want to be able to drive it like a scalded cat on a track.... Cheers & Thanks.... Scott

This issue is bigger than a FORD vs Expensive Daewoo issue..... It's about equality for all teams, 1 set of rules, fair sportsmanship...... Market forces will decide V8 Supercars fate..... It's be nice to have more brands competing, but hey, we never know.......

The main problem is ACCOUNTABILITY, and, HAVING THE BALLS to make tough decisions....... something that both parties, PAST & PRESENT have failed miserably on...... If anyone could help I'd really appreciate it.... A while ago I took my T into Ford who supposedly tightened the bolts on my turbo, and then charged me for it.... only for it all to go loose again 1 week later.... Instead of getting reamed again by those 1diots I took it to my local mechanic, who tightened everything up and used loctite...... NOW, here's the interesting bit : - When under acceleration, I still get quite an audible whooshing sound, which I never used to be able to hear with the windows up.... - Car feels like crap..... doesn't not seem to spool up or pull very well at all.... MODS - Car is pretty standard. (auto) .. only things are : - SS Inductions intake - F6 Intake I've already done the solenoid maintenance tip posted here, which made the car feel good for about 3 days.... now, it just doesn't feel right...... Can some of you experts / car gods out there, PLEASE PLEASE give me some suggestions ?? I'm not enjoying driving my car at the moment, as I know there is something just not right with it...... Sorry this may be very general, but please fire away on any questions, and I can fill in any blanks... my thoughts.... - exhaust / CAT ??? - Loose turbo again ? - dead solenoid ? something else ?? GOLDIE ?? someone else ??? anybody ??? HELP !!!! please

All we really have right now is an Australianised version of NASCAR..... - Cars that can enter series is strictly controlled - Cars ONLY LOOK like roadgoing versions Frankly I'd like the series to go bust, and, we then go back to a more open series which allows all and any make to join..... based on a set of standardised rules.... ( and no 7.0L monaros allowed... ) PRODUCTION Based vehicles..... V8 Supercars = Expensive Daewoo w@nkfest......

At the end of the day, not all of us want something that says " hey police, look at me" or "I have this F6 coz I'm compensating for a small appendage" or " insert other derogatory remark here..." ( at that is NOT a dig at my brethren here..... that is a comment of peoples mindsets.......) Some of us want to be able to go fast, but not get noticed by all and sundry as we do it..... the Force 6 is a good idea.... but executed and marketed & priced badly..... probably our usual issue with the accountants at ford/fpv stepping in and screwing up an idea again...... Market forces will decide what price people pay.... look at the so called demonstrator F6's on the market now for around 53k........ and what's going to happen to the Force6 sooner rather than later ???? Can I hear you say DISCOUNTS ??

I did this on my car over the weekend, and it's definitely helped.... my cars been feeling lethargic of late.... but after this little 10 minute fix, it's certainly feeling like it used to...... I think my car still has issues though, as it does not seem to pull as hard or for that matter as quietly as it used to...... and it's only got 38,000km on the clock.......

two words for you if you are going to drive that fast........... RADAR DETECTOR................... you're investing 30+k on a road rocket.... spend another 1k for some insurance.....

Unfortunately we get what we ask for....... don't you notice how we flock to Bunnings & supercheap auto for cheap stuff.... Everything here is marketed to be "cheap" hence we buy utter crap all the time....... That's not going to change, so, we have to live in the world we are in...... but try not to be too cheap......

Chooch, glad we've all helped.... to be honest I regret getting my T, and, not waiting a bit longer to get the F6..... and... now... guess what I'm out shopping for, after having the T for 15months....... If you can afford it, go for the better vehicle..... what's the point in modding a more "standard" vehicle to make it like a better model... ??? U won't get much of that upgrade money back at time of sale or trade in........ Cheers Scott
