I had the exact same problem recently and I replaced the tps. Everything is now as it should be. Very common fault in these cars too.

thanks for all the great comments, the fake wall is flush with the drop off to the tire well and goes from edge to edge obviously and looks very tidy up close. and yeh it has speaker level input and 3 sets of rca outs and the sound uality is fantastic. Mac

I used the alpine hub which is about 1300 with wiring loom, the only problem you will have with two subs is finding enough space for two enclosures large enough to produce a really good low end, imho you are better off spnding more on one good sub and getting the box perfect for one rather than close for two if you get what I mean. thanks for all the comments. looks good, one question though, why are you going to get a phoon cai and filter if you have ordered a pod filter? the pod filter setup would not be recommended by many as the stock setup would out perform this due to the hot air that the od filter would be inducting. stick with the stock setup and throw the phoon cai and k&n or bmc filter in it, there are a lot of guys one here including myself producing over 300rwkw with this setup. yeh I installed it myself, the ipod interface is great and absolutely no engine noise which use to annoy me. install is very straight forward with a moderate understanding of car electronics. Mac

hi mate im 20 and am now driving my second t. I payed 2300 last year to insure my t and this year it was 1650 purely for being with them under comprehensive for 12 months with no claims, I agree with others saying they are not a cheap car to run and especially so if modded and to be honest if you cant afford that insurance then I seriously wouldnt consider modifying it, with just cars it wont change the cost of your insurance but there a a lot of costs involved in modifing these cars. just cars have been fantasic with me so far and I seriously doubt if you will find it cheaper anywhere else.
