Too rich and you'll wash the bores, glaze it a bit then start to burn oil.. Be careful.. too rich is just as bad!

Customers BF F6 gained 22rwkw @ 19psi with no cat... illegal though but sounded mint!

Sadly the Mustang platform isnt remotely as refined as FG.. it will come down to a global platform unfortunately.. Here in Oz we are just small fish from a global manufacturing perspective and the tiny volumes we build and consume are a drop in the ocean when compared to overall production numbers.. Crown Victoria anyone?

Face the facts, for its going to eventually be the next Falcon.. and from all accounts will fill in nicely when out Territory Turbo gets too long in the tooth. Lots of room and a twin turbo V6 with lots of tuning potential. That or possibly an Audi Q7..

I had a close look at the front diff set-up and as it stands, there is about 25mm between the front driveshaft tube and the sump. Biggest obstacle is the angle at which the front driveshaft leaves the transfer box as this determines the position of the front diff in relation to the motor. If you could get the front diff right inside the sump, a la GTR Nissan, you're some way there to getting the package to sit under a Falcon floorpan. Huge engineering effort required, along with an equally sizeable helping of commitment to get this off the ground, but certainly not impossible. I have access to all the parts to make it happen, but damn, its still a monster project.. Or you could wait for the AWD Taurus due in 2015 or so.. Mal K

If you can get an FG intake for the right bucks, I reckon its probably the better way to go,as you're spending time on what is really a manifold never designed for forced induction. Still, if you're keen, why not have a crack and see what difference you can make. Never let the fact that it has'nt been done before deter you, if anything you may be breaking new ground for us all to learn from.. Its difficult to be a leader, but cheaper and easier to follow someone..

No, it wasnt feasable to just back to back the different inlets, as I also fitted a 5" Ballistic Cat, Plazmaman FrontMount I/C, 60lb Dekas and also transferred the LPG injectors onto the FG Inlet. Just to get it to run meant a different tune so at the same time we squeezed more boost into it, only to find the Walbro pump was dying and leaning the whole thing out!! Time for a new pump and retune, but purely from the trusty old Bum-O-Meter, despite the inlet tract being longer, it feels real nice and when tuning, we ran it from 0 to 170km/h plus probably half a dozen times in a row and it didnt heat soak and get slower, which it would do after just one hard pass with the standard I/C and 12lb tune. The rising AFR's were the limiting factor and I'd like to get it to the Motorplex when the next season starts, and maybe run a friends FG F6 for sh*ts and giggles. Im sure I'd destroy him off the line but the other end of 400m might be a different story. Time will tell.. Mal K

Ive fitted the FG inlet to my Territory Turbo and while it wasnt the hardest thing, bear a few things in mind: Firstly, get yourself an BA/BF throttle body base gasket and lay it over the stock FG manifold flange, you will firstly see that the FG flange is assymetric and the BA/BF gasket is certainly larger, meaning that you will go close to its edge by simply using the BA/BF throttle body without an adaptor plate.. do-able Id reckon, but you're playing very close to the edge of things. Secondly, make sure you make up suitable manifold support braces as Im sure, over time, you will have problems of the plenum working its way loose from the head. Its a pretty substantial weight to just be left hanging, only supported by the inlet manifold bolts. The FG fuel rail mates nicely with the manifold and I used spacers under the feet so I could run my Deka 60lb injectors without fuss. Its a nice factory conversion and certainly lighter and neater than the old style inlet that was never designed with forced induction in mind.. Happy fitting boys! Mal K

Hey Phoon, Yes, the 4spot Brembos will fit, but you will need different rims as your factory wheels have insufficent clearance from the face of the caliper to the inside of the rim spokes. A simple solution is to use F6X rims which you can find on Ebay for around $1k or even less if you're patient. Happy hunting! Mal K

Hi mate, Firstly, if yours is an AWD Territory, there isnt a lot of options in terms of front shocks, apart from a few Chinese ones on Ebay and from Pedders and of course, Fraud. If you're keen, Ebay also list coil-over kits to suit RWD and AWD Territorys, just not too sure of the quality of these things, especiallly for the coupla grand they are asking for them. Im not sure if the rear shocks are all that different to BA/BF and Im sure that there is a listing for Bilstein shocks for a Terry rear application. Whiteline do uprated front and rear stabiliser bars but I haven't tried them yet. If you check their online catalog you will see whats out there ( I hear their front bar comes in 32mm..) From what I can gather from other forums, and ours, most owners go for a lowered spring package whilst using the factory shocks, for improved looks and better handling. I have run with uprated King Springs in the standard ride height (I like driving over stuff in search of that elusive prime parking space..) and to ensure that our Terrirory didn't go bum-down once the LPG tank was fitted. After 30K of mixed use, these springs have not sagged and settled like the factory springs did and handle full loads and a car trailer with ease. Wholesale Suspension are a site sponsor and Pat is very clued up and free with his advice. PM him and Im sure he will be only too willing to help sort out ya boat! If you do go fully sick and drop it on its guts, there are also a range of alignment correction bushes and arms to keep things like tyre wear in check. Oh, and apart from all the factory bushes that can and will pack up, be vigilant and keep an eye on the front lower ball joints, which have a habit of failing. Ive heard that Fraud are replacing them free of charge, up to 150K but please dont quote me on this Hope this helps you some, Baz. Cheers, Mal K

Hi All, Having had our Territory Ghia Turbo for a few years now, and after carrying out my list of mods, I have now found out what too many big launches can do to your front diff bushes, in particular the most forward bush. Having looked at whats involved (work and lots of it!) and the lack of suitable uprated components to use, I have decided to try a different but not unheard-of route. I have modified a large flat washer to sit hard against the surface of the front bush so that when I fill in the voids with Sika-Flex, it stops it pushing out and allows me to keep the Sika in place til it dries. Its particularly nasty stuff, in that it stains skin for a considerable time, even if you use all sorts of cleaning agents not designed for contact with the skin Yes, I know it sounds very dodgy but given that the Sika is waay tougher than the soft rubber that is used from factory and has significantly less compliance, I expect more control and quite possibly a little more NVH, yet this is preferable to the diff banging around after a quick launch, destroying whats left of the other bushes, which so far are largely unscathed.. I also have a contact who rebuilds bushes for our rally cars in solid rubber, very similar in design and execution to those from Nismo and Ralliart but those really firm up and control the movement of engines, gearboxes and the like... Its just that I really cant be shagged suspending the motor and dropping out the front diff, just to fit more of the same sh*te soft bushes So, after a moment or two of deliberating, the lazy option won out and the final result will reveal all. Keep ya posted! Mal K

Hi Nx, That figure isnt that far from what I used to get from out Territory when all it had was a tune.. they love the open road but will chew the juice on stop/start trips. Ive since fitted a better fuel pump, 5" Cat and debung, (Bought off the forum classifieds at a killer price} FG Intake (Another bargain forum purchase..), 60lb Dekas, Plazmaman FMIC, and tune. Ive yet to make a decent road trip but on 98Octane, it gets mid to high 9's, and around mid 11's on LPG (Vapour Injection) at 100 to 110kmh. An extra 10 to 15kmh will push up consumption around 20-25%, given you are pushing a block fo flats thru the air! For me, I get huge pleasure driving a comfortable and bloody fast family truckster every day so despite what it cost us to run, its difficult to beat as a family proposition. Also managed to easily destroy a new Focus RS in a sprint ( its all traffic would allow and at the first hint of a corner, he'd be goorn!) this arvo. The driver had a nice bright green jacket to match his paintwork but Im sure his face was more than a bit red!! I did a few sums and the cost for the bits for the conversion came to around $3k, given that I did the spanner work myself and swapped services for the exhaust work and suchlike. Its all cool when you doing the work on your own car, theres a different time constraint and I have different vehicles to drive when work was underway. Good mileage is wonderful, but in the end, Im here for smiles per gallon! Mal K

Hi Matty, Glad its going well and if in doubt, ask someone who knows their apples.. ha ha ha. I reckon that most factory systems are set up to create a front sound stage, as if the performer is in front of you. It may be an issue with finding the right fade or balance between the front and rear speakers, and perhaps having different speakers types may mean you need to drive one pair differently to the others, as Im sure they are different in efficency, therefore needing more power to work as intended. To me, its sounds like it isnt far from factory in the way sound stage is presenting itself, I know I dont spend much time in the rear seat of our Territory, except when Im being chauffeured around by the wife after many beers, rums and suchlike and even though my memory is a little fuzzy, the best sound was in the front! Unless you intend to really change things, it may just be how the sound balance, front to rear, was intended to be. Mind you, Im sure its much cleaner and better. If you get a chance, post a pic or two, Great work mate, Mal K

Hey, Just plan your approach, bit by bit and dont pull too much apart so its a mission just to get it running again. Allow for more time than you expect, dont rush and above all, try to do the best you can.. Long after you forget how long it took, you will remember the quality of the finished product. Suprised you didnt attempt the RCA Pre-out conversion listed on the site.. Promises much better sound quality.. Ive got a spare ICC and will give it a crack when I get a spare moment, lifes so busy at present. Best of luck and hope it works out superbly. Cheers, Mal K

One wild ride, I reckon..

I had a nice sequence logged in our digital camera, but some low life smashed his way into the BF wagon and stole the wifes handbag, camera included. I will try to get some other pics but there is so little to see once the bumper fascia is in place. Its a tight fit but if I ever did another installation, it would be heaps easier.. as expected! Hope to have them up this evening for you perusal. Mal K

Make sure the plug gap is no more than 0.8mm before doing anything else.. Just a thought..

Fitted my 1000hp Territory kit over Chrissy, needed some sheetmetal trimmed but end result was well worth it. Every bit of the kit was top quality, which is what you remember long after you forget the purchase price. Cant recommend the gear highly enough. Mal K

Territory rims are load rated at 750kg. Other Falcon/FPV rims are 690kg, with the exception of F6X rims. Be careful running Falc rims on your Terry as you may be caught short with respect to remaining roadworthy/insurance issues.

Gets hot due to lack of oil, bearing goes south, clearances now huge so it soon rattles itself to death.. either way its a very bad situation. Try GTI-R oil pump, have heard they're higher flow but do check it out for yourself. Good luck mate!

Those critters can bite when cornered so beware. Shooting works but tends to upset some folks (and the possums!).
-
Also looks like one rod got very hot before failing, possibly oil starved...? Food for thought.
-
Damn, what a mess. Shame a rod bolt was the cause.. or was it? Oh well, all new engine from here on in anyway... I feel for you mate!
-
Hey Joey, I fitted Territory rears ( I assume that's what you are referring to?) onto my BA2 F6. It made a noticable difference but you will either need to trim the backing plate or it will touch the caliper and maybe rub onto the rotor. Its much nicer to look at than the tiny single piston rear caliper/ solid rotor factory combo as fitter to earlier XR's and Phoons. Hope this helps mate. Mal K

Given all the good gear and effort being put into this project, it would be a little sad if it didnt run a low 11 or even better, as long as the rest of the driveline holds up.. Heard whispers that the other fastest Terries were leaving the line at 10psi of boost, which would be definitely tough on the driveline. Im sure that there will always be those who will give their all for a great time, whatever the cost. Cant wait to see what this beastie will do! Mal K
