  1. Yep indeed, an Xmas cruise/meal/ event would be neat. Good way for us to get to know each other socially, relaxed and enjoyable.. MJK IM In guys..
  2. Guys, If we keep on being the clean living, responsible drivers we already are, then there wont be any issues. We share the roads with all kinds of clowns and need to be aware of consequences. I reckon if we drive like everyone else is about to kill us, we will be just fine. Why put all our hard work and money into having a great car and then throw it all away..? We can all be social and responsible and still keep growing out XR6T Group here in WA while not doing anything silly. that's why we have events like Karting, Motorplex and the like. Its no fun having a wicked car and no licence to drive it with!! I got done years ago for 200km/h in a 60km/h zone (it was at 3am..) Walking for 9 months sucks big time.. MJK
  3. Guys, One beer when the days done is fine, we know how to be responsible blah blah, who wants more grief and especially damage our special cars. aLets enjoy ourselves responsibly and keep having a great time. MJK
  4. Hey Mal, From memory, I believe that the AHG day is on Sunday 25th Sept and costs $80 for members ($85 for you and other non members) This should be paid prior to the day to secure your place. If you want, I can get a phone number for you to contact. You also need a CAMS license (level 2S I think from memory), not sure how your competition license relates. If needed, you can pay for a day license ($20) but this can be determined on the day. I will try to remember to get more info tonight. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Sorry guys, just correcting my last post. I checked out the info last night and the AHG driving day is actually being held on Monday 26th September (Public Holiday). You will need to be there by 8:15am and bring Helmet, long sleeve top, jeans, closed shoes etc. For those of you that don't know, the AHG track is at 46 Grogan Rd, Perth International Airport. I spoke to Andrew (the club Pres) last weekend and he said that there were still 10 places left. Ideally, to ensure your place you will need to pay prior to the day. If you are willing to risk it, you can just rock up on the day and hope that there is a place left. If you want to call Andrew, his number is 9314 2002. Hope this helps! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Thanks Leigh, I will give Andrew a call and make sure all is well for the day. Not sure which car to run, 302 Capri gearbox making a few strange noises ( What can u expect for a $400 Quokka special) and LSD has gone to heaven since last autokhana. May have to break in the T.. Got new headlights under warranty (leaking water) and waiting for the money tree to revive before PBR Performance Brake kit gets a fitment and then a hammering.. Be good, or at least be careful!!
  5. How 'bout Edit and tuning to see what you can achieve without: 1. Destroying the motor 2. Safely tune the beast and measure real-world power gains In this way, I avoid potential warranty issues and can enjoy that bit more performance. Oh, I forgot.. 3. 347ci Windsor for my '71 Capri to run better than 13's 4. Tyres that grip so the quarter isnt wasted in wheelspin..
  6. Mark, I was thinking the same thing mate. They either give us more powerful carts or the other blokes will have to carry a concrete slab to make it even! HAHA <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Guys, My version of a handicap would certainly entail a slab, but something much more entertaining than concrete! Slab of Beez Neez... hmmm BEEERR... Count me in!
  7. Yep, Ive had Koni's and also Bilstein's. Find that the competition Koni's and excellent and even more expensive than the Bilsteins. Street Koni's seem a little weird in their rebound characteristics, initally too soft/under damped, and then when adjusted up, too hard, even allowing the wheel to skip off the road by restricting rebound to that extent. The Bilsteins seem more predictable and IMHO even though they can seem a little firm initally, allow you to build your confidence and remain consistent. Last a long time too. Simply send for a rebuild/revalve to your specs when they go a bit soft. Used them for State Rally Championship rounds and even though they were the cheapest option (apart from totally cheap K-Mart shocks..) they worked well and were eminently repairable. Remember that Koni shocks had the adjustability element simply to compensate for wear, allowing a longer service life. MJK

Any phone contacts would be greatly appreciated. I believe the AASA licence is equivalent to the CAMS 2S licence. Kind of depends on the event documentation and organisation as to what they actually accept.. fingers crossed! Its always best to get the documentation done before the day if that's at all possible.. <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
  9. Yep <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Im sure us guys on the West would love to make a donation..Hint Hint. Do let us know what happens mate! MJK

  15. Hi guys, The big event went very well indeed, despite the inclement weather. Great to finally meet the local members and compare notes. It seems that all there enjoyed the company and talking shop, amongst other things. Weir Road even better when damp, dont ya reckon...??? Maybe we should have a cruise and then a good meal somewhere, suggestions anyone..? BTW, standard brakes barely adequate if pushed, time for another solution... PBR...Wilwood...Alcon...AP...Brembo (Now Im dreamin'...) Mal K

  19. Dudes, Picking up my replacement T today, first one was stolen and written off ( 04 MK2 6spd) now replaced with a Dec04 MK2 auto (much better as a daily driver... not any slower!!), if CentreFord get their act together and have it ready by this arvo. Either way, Im in for the cruise, XR6T or 302 '71 Capri (The Weapon.. ) Lets hit the road and have fun, a relaxing ale and enjoy good company.. Mal K
  20. Hey guys, The Hills are a great place for a cruise, however if you want a good driving road, perhaps we should meet at the Parky Tavern then go for a blast up O'Brien Road, fast, good surface and all the bikers in the know use it . Its minutes from the Tavern, sorts the men from the boys and then we could sit around and bullsh*t about how much faster we could have gone... Trust me, its a brilliant drive, like the Old Weir Road used to be before people lived right on it..! I lived in the hills for 7 yrs and the roads are outstanding..
