  5. I prefer sleepers anyway.. http://www.j-spec.com.au/list/0977 this is the current car as it was when I imported it. It looks like a skinny Magna.... but it's got the soul of an Evo. I just love the looks from HSV drivers when the galant shows them a clean set of tail lights... :-0
  6. Ah well, it was good while it lasted. As some of you know "my" T was actually my darling wife's lease car (but I doubt she drove 1000km in it). Well, she applied for and got another job with better conditions and $10K a year more so the salary sacrifice car went back to the lease company. 6 months old and 18,000km on it. Gonna lose money on that one, I bet they were pissed... So, I'm back driving my VR4 Galant and have upgraded Turbo, ECU, AFM and intake pipe, 720cc injectors, 040 fuel pump and a couple of other goodies for it waiting for me to get off my bum and have a massive installation weekend. It all adds up to a proven recipe that should get me about 220KW on 20PSI boost (yes a 4G63 will run that) and with the 60' times that AWD traction can give make it a 12 second car. I enjoyed my 1/2 a year back in the Blue Oval camp but have returned to motoring from the land of the rising sun. Next project looks like being a turbo import too. Going to give Toyota a whirl this time, either a JZX100 Chaser Tourer V, or a JZS147 Aristo. Leaning toward the Aristo at the moment. They run the 2JZ-GTE engine from the Supra. With "basic" import mods this engine should be good for not far short of 300KW. Add in a weight factor of about 1550Kg for the Aristo and the Kg/KW ratio is looking pretty damn good. http://www.prestigemotorsport.com.au/modul...hp?StockID=3748 is a typical example that would be about $20K on road and modded. If the car looks familiar, they are sold as a Lexus outside of Japan. Oh well, if you ever see a Lightning Strike BA MK11 6sp around with a Red T badge next to the XR6 on the skirts, that was mine. Was nice hanging out here and thanks for all the good info and the humour of reading the mis-info from the usual "I've got a mate who says..." experts that you find on any auto forum. seeeeeeeeyaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa.....
  7. No offence meant mate, but those tail lights look like they came off a Commonwhore. Count my vote for refitting the stock lights and changing the stripes to black.
  8. Every answer you get is going to be a personal opinion, so here's mine... If it is a BA or BA mkII go the Manual. Much more of a "Drivers Car". If you are looking at a BF, well that just complicates things. I haven't driven one but I hear only good things about the 6 speed slushbox. That will have to be your call. Best thing to do? Go test drive both slushers and cog-swappers for yourself and make an informed choice. Me? I'll stay with changing 'em myself thanks.
  9. Damn, I will have to have a look at mine. I just drove Briz-Rocky-Briz in the last 2 days, possibly on defective tyres??? updates and pictures at Ten
  10. Have to agree with you there, those little fin things just look "busy" and would be a real dirt trap. Also, any BFs I have seen so far have all had the same ugly (in my opinion) wheels which may or may not be the std fit, (I've only seen 3 or 4) but I prefer the MKII wheels.
  11. How about we all do something constructive and bag the sh1t out of Holden's colour palette? Especially some of the greens they come out with. including the green interior to match. I mean really, at the end of the day, it may look like undercoat, but it's undercoat on a FORD ffs!
  12. Personal opinion, Silver looks good and Gun Metal Metallic looks good, 1/2 way in between falls short of either. Lightning strike here, which was second to Silhouette in the points for looks but WAY ahead on practicallity. (I've had too many black cars not to know what a pain the dirt and scratch issue is, esp with a daily driver)
  13. those "signatures" look more like he left the window down and some street kids "tagged" his airbag.
  14. Yeah, I've done 4200km in 6 weeks. Cars are for driving, paintings are for looking at.
  15. Another option would be to "gut" the centre muffler like some people do to their cat'. If anyone (read mr plod) looks under there you still have the stock muffler but in reality there is straight pipe through it. Might be one you could get away with on a lease car too
