    New Exhaust

Hey Guys, I think I read a thread a couple of weeks ago that had sound files of exhaust upgrades members had done, I have tried the search option but I cant find anything Am I imagining it or can some one point me in the right direction? Cheers, Brett
  3. I filled up with that new 98 ron Bio fuel friday night, it seemed to have no effect on my 5L fairmont ef apart from possibly a little more mileage! thought I had the bargin of the century!!
  4. Well my all time fav has got to be Bad Boys Dame that Cobra was nice!!! till it tapped the wall!! :rain:
  5. Hey Turbocrazy, Thanks for that mate, I guess I will try one of the dealers in melb and see if they can help me. I should of know when he said they didnt have a manual there then when he went to get the auto he found one!!! didnt even know he had a brand new Magnet pack on the lot!
  6. It would help with flow but the fins are there for catching excess debis that comes in before it blocks the filter, just pull your filter out and see where all the excess dirt is sitting
  7. Hey Guys, Now I am new to this but I went into the dealer in Ballarat on saturday, drove the new six slinger in the ute (Awesome) then was going through the options and asked about the color screen etc to option up the premium sound and he said only FPV had this option Do you guys think this could just be an option at certian dealers? 8. Hey Envy, sorry to hear about your car mate! is there any lower scumbag then someone who vandalises somebodys pride and joy probably out of jelousy!! Chooka
  9. where do I start, I did my time (well 9 years) as an apprentice then mechanic at a prestigue garage in the eastern suburbs, you know the stuff Jags, beemers, mercs, porche etc. possibly the worst thing I saw was my apprentice lowering a lamboghini on a four post hoist, it was backed onto the hoist as it was so low it would not drive up forwards, somehow inbetween me asking him to lower it and when it was approx 40cm off the ground he has managed to roll it forward (Re back towards the ramps) and now the front spoiler was located under where the ramps were about to position themselves! moments after this I turned around to see the front spoiler of this 100k car get completely ripped off and broken into peices! They worst thing was having to go and tell the boss that his brother in laws lamborghini had to visit the panel shop!!
  10. Youch! I wouldn't suggest Tuna fishing.... Hey Guys, I found this thread and thought I'd put some imput in, (good idea about the list countryphoon!) I actually work for a major fleet company as a fleet maintence manager so I have contacts at almost all major workshops around the country so if anyone has any issues reguarding warranty or just need to give a dealer a little push feel free to PM me. Brett
  11. Couldn't agree with you more mate. But, and no offence to you (as it looks like you own a Harley), some of those Harleys are just obnoxiously loud. There's loud enough to be heard and then there's just downright offensively loud. Both excellent points but I do agree with bugster harleys do seem to have there own noise(Music) laws! personally I love there note but it is a bit off putting when you are pulled over on an R1 for too loud and a harley goes past while he is writeing the ticket that is clearly twice as loud and the officer just shrugs his sholder
  12. If it is just the globe ford cover under warranty upto 100k
  13. That will give an indication but it will also log an AFM code in the computer so if you get ford to check the codes after they will say its the AFM.
  14. No worries brett, believe me, that will be up there on the list. Just a question, is this really a good idea for someone who believe that if a shifting spanner cant fix it, a ball peen hammer will??? Lumpy and if that dosn't work a bigger hammer will! it is worth a try, even if you know a mechanic or someone who has some torx sockets you cant do any damage as long as you dont drop it!
  15. Try the clean first like I suggested as you won't be out of pocket anything, ive found 90% of the AFM problems can be fixed this way
  16. Hey Brendan, I had a problem quite like this on my EF Fairmont ghia 5L, it turned out to be the air flow meter (Expensive peice of equipment!) fortunatley it can be repaired if you have the right equipment. first the airflow meter is located just after the filter box and has some tamper proof torx bolts (special tool) remove the wire then the two bolts and remove cover, this will give you acess to a diode that controls the mixtures. be very carful not to damage and have a close look for any dirt or contaminants on it. I could not see any on mine but cleaned it up with some carby cleaner and a cotton bud and have not had an issue since, more power and better fuel economy! Hope this helps mate. Brett
