  1. its do with the amount of exhaust gas pushed through and apparenty quicker air speed. funny enough dion tuned a gtx4202 on a xr andhe said it really dd nearly spool up as quick as factory. I will have a dyno graph with it to show results. unless the turbo place is happyto swap exhaust hoousings mine isstill un-used
  2. Well it's finally happening. I'm Starting on the new bullet proof long engine. The billet de-stroked crank is ordered :-). It will spin to 9500rpm and still make power all the way there
  3. Actually it's funny how turbo's efficiency works. You will find that on a 4 cylinder with the same turbo as the 6 that the 4 cyclinder will produce a higher power figure. It will need alot more boost to get it but the overall figure will be higher on the 4 with both pushing the turbo to its limits.
  4. I will get a picture. I still need to get the tub liner plastic welded in. They were cut for mini tubs and I was nt going to run liner. But decided to run it. Looks a lot neater that way considering the car is 2003 with 50,000 on it. I don't want to totally destroy it :-)

  6. Thanks. The car doesn't go yet. Lol. I've put off the bottom end until everything else is sorted and well. It's still a built bottom end but the real engine used will be full house and something special. I'll also go 12-13' wide slicks and converter redone to suit motor when it's done . So it will be far from from it's potential until that is done. I will start the engine as soon as the car is running.
  7. Yeah he is. So it turns out. Ihe was talking about the fg regulary when we spoke but stupid me assumed it was a sedan. When I found out it was a ute, I'm thiinking damn. Ha ha. It will be a quick car no doubt about it. In fact it will be fully stripped and used for drags and will be a wrapon. It won't run 4 link but it will have a very well set up rear end. I still want to drive mine on the street. So interior, dash etc will remain. He will just de-tune mine so his is quicker!! Ha ha ha. Ive learnt over the years with performance cars. Do it right the first time because I assure u. U will redo it again at later date the right way. Generally costing more in the process.
  8. There 8' but I will be putting 10's under there. The photos don't really do it justice. But buggered if I capture a shot that shows what I see. There will be plenty of skids to be had :-). Won't be worried about breaking my driveline these days with this combo
  9. I'm getting him to plumb hoses and tank for ams unit and is also organising the exhaust system. Then we will run it up. I've replaced everything except shell and bottom end. Lol. Which bottom end will go in once I sort out the rest of the car. Forget to mention chute and rollcage will be due back in the next couple of weeks to give me something else to do. Ahhhh. I think I will give it to dion first before I put that stuff in.
  10. Ok so an update on my car. The fuel system is completely finished. Used -8anlightweight Teflon braid and aeroflow fittings.finishing up on fitting the ams boost controller Here are A couple of pics only a couple of little minor things that I'm waiting on parts or time to get it to welders for some small jobs. And the trans should be here in around a week. Once trans is fitted and tailshaft and mount are made. It s off to Dynomite performance for some tuning and ironing out the bugs etc]

    Very nice ute mate. Should run some decent track numbers with some grip . I see you gained 40rwkw from your last to the previous. Is that only a cooler change between them? I got a stage 3 unit. Should def do the jb. Seem to have proven themselves so far
  17. Definetly no minimum weight. I've been pulling some little weight out of mine. Any daggy brackets, spare wheel brackets etc. the challege is the best part. Although I would like to drive it some time soon. Lol. Too Many things to do.

  19. Without the dump on it looks like a tight fit but when fitted it actually fits nicely.. All in all it's a very tight fit but it doesn't hit anywhere except the coolant tank needin to be replaced with alloy job or repositioned

  21. Thanks guys. It's a gtx4202. There is a bit of room for dump. I'm amazed he got the twin gates and everything in to perfection. Flawless welding and no sharp bends. Looks like there would be but not the case. Very very tight squeeze. Just brought that header tank and it doesnt fit now. Lol. It's fouls on wastegates.

  23. It's one of those things. I considered all 3 top brands. And although nizpro have the results I still believe there are too many variables that come into factor. I settled with stage 3 process west kit and I have access to a nizpro kit for testing. I believe the pw will perform better for my car. But that's only a prediction. Time will tell :-)
  24. I surpose. Lol. They were taken by them and I'm going to pick it up sat morning. Boy have I Got some parts to put on and pull off lol. Get turbo manifold dump intake, wastegates , lines of ETM next week. There in transit :-)
  25. Here are the 4 link strange alloy billet diff. Billet shafts adapted to standard rear brakes. Also billet yokes.
