  1. Are dyno kw readout 'rwkw'? If so shouldn't the kw reading on the chart be much higher than it is?
  2. Yes, Tony from CAPA has been in contact and seems genuine in his efforts to assist. We will see how things unfold!
  3. Yes you should be getting cranky. However I will struggle to explain any concept when the basic fundamentals of binary logic arent fully understood. My earlier post outlined exactly how the pcm write takes place. If you choose not to accept that, then we have nothing further to discuss here. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I do accept that you know what you are talking about "basic fundamentals of binary logic" because I don't even know what that means. My concerns are very real and it appears that the people that should be helping are burying their heads in the sand. No, I'm not an expert so like many others out there we rely on the suppliers and their associates to help in times like this. I bought the flasher for a reason and I like the extra performance gained. What I don't like is the my concieved (and other owners) inconsistancey of the product. If I decide to I will sell the unit. I would prefer CAPA to offer a buy-back if possible but they appear unwilling to reply. As stated, I'm asking for help not criticism!
  4. No. Put the car back to stock, and put your flasher on Ebay. that's my best advice for you. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Forgive me if I'm wrong, but it appears buy the way you answer questions on behalf of CAPA, you are infact associated with CAPA. If I am correct your manner and attitude you reply to leaves something to be desired. I've made 5 calls and 1 fax to CAPA with no response. If anyone should be getting cranky, it should be me. So please back the attitude off and be constructive!
  5. *Can you explain why a program can be loaded at say 9:00am than reloaded at 9:30am it feels different? **Can you without question say that your flash tuner did not damage my PCM? ***Can you explain why on the factory tune why it began overboosting? ****If I use the flasher again and it cause a fault in the PCM and Ford refuse to replace it, will CAPA?
  6. It would also be nice if CAPA could return 1 of my 5 calls I've made! Appears that they maybe be hiding something!
  7. This may start a bum fight, but are things like XEDE or Unichip possibly a "safer" option. Were I work we supply and fit many Safari "APS" D'tronics. These are a plug in piggyback unichip for late model diesel 4WD's. They appear to be extremely consistant. Maybe the old methods have more merrit than the new!
  8. Depending on dates/times etc, I could have 2 local cars!
  9. This maybe true, but we are not using a keyboard! No I'm not trying to be a smart arse, but the proceedure of flashing the PCM is that simple, I no I got it right. I also understand that there possibly are some people out there that should not touch a $1000 computer let alone a $40k plus motor car! I'm seriously considering not using the flash tuner again only because, what if it has damaged the PCM, what if it happens again. So far no one with any authority (no malice intended) can confirm or denie. I've left 2 messages for CAPA to ring me back which have failed. So they appear not to be to committal!
  10. Really makes you wonder, doesn't it!
  11. Is it possible that upon rewriting, that some data is not written every time? I ask this because a couple of times I have loaded it, and noiticed that performance feels different. I've reloaded it again and it seems to perform better! Ford is replacing my PCM due a unrecognisable fault!
  12. Thanx, bugster70 Another question: Is it possible that upon rewriting, that some data is not written every time? I ask this because a couple of times I have loaded it, and noiticed that performance feels different. I've reloaded it again and it seems to perform better!
  13. Vehicle would backfire ocassionally with CAPA tune installed. Started doing it even with the std map installed. Impatient, pulling plug early, think not. One thing I have noticed is that the instructions state " LED's flashing from inner to outer data going one way, LED's flashing from outer to inner data flowing the other way". This does not happen with mine. They all flash from inner to outer but speed changes! PCM is being replaced due irregular codes appearing. "Just sounds funny that they've had their PCM replaced after using the flash." Maybe these flashers "in some cases" are damaging the PCM's.
  14. If Ford replaces the PCM under warranty, will this block out the flasher? Will it need returing to CAPA for unlocking?
  15. Sounds stupid, but this brings me to another issue! A lot of us are having issues with brake problems etc! I personally feel that the standard brakes on a T are not suitable for it's standard performance abilities. This is also made worse once the T has been modified. I know after market systems are available, but brake performance should match engine performance STANDARD! These brakes are probably fine on an XT or a XR6, but on a T I believe far from adequite! In my opinion anyway!
  16. My suggestion is to go and get it tuned to you car. You have invested $40K plus in a car, spend another $300 or $400 to get it tuned properly. The results can be very very good. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> The issue is getting a quality tune here in Newcastle. The money is not the issue!
  17. My tunes should have been Oct 2005 MKII Auto!
  18. Only received back from CAPA last week!
  19. If any of you guys and girls are considering returning their tuners to CAPA for the upgrade, my personal view is "don't do it"! OK if you are planning a custom tune, fine. But if you aren't you may be dissappointed! I returned mine, once I recieved it back I installed the 8psi map. Not much more balls than a standard T. The 10psi map feels more like the original 8psi! This may be an isolated issue, but I'm not happy Jan! Considering selling the tuner! Has anyone else experienced this?
  20. Just checked with a mate who sells new Fords, 6 speed tranny not available on NA models!
  21. Just for your info! Checked all clamps and hoses, all as tight! Appears the noise is caused by a bolt that attaches the support rod to the turbo couldn't stand the heat and abandoned ship. Replaced bolt fixed!
  22. This is what scares me here in Newcastle. A freind of mine went to a so called Dyno Tuner here in Newy mainly just to find out what his current rwkw were. He left there $200 poorer and with a dyno sheet saying 194rwkw. This was with the CAPA 8psi edit installed. He told this guy that it was crap and that he had an performance edit installed and the tuners response was "whats an EDIT". He genuinely did not know. I also have a CAPA flash tuner and want to get a custom edit done, and I have asked for reputable shops to go to in both Sydney and Brisbane with no response. How many cars would be required to get someone like DW to come to Newcastle. I for one am not going to entrust my T to just anyone. PS: I would complain like hell if the same happened to me!
  23. Checked all hoses and all are intact and tight! No noise with factory tune, 8psi tune noise returns. Any more suggestion ie: weak BOV etc?
  24. Thanx Chooka, That does sound feasible, I'll have a closer look. Appreciate your the help!
  25. I agree, it sounds like a hose come off, or the BOV was being held open slightly. What I can't under stand is that now I have the Factory tune in, why everthing is fine. If a hose had blown off, wouldn't it still be loosing pressure/power?
