  2. Don't cheap out on these cars. They respond really well with the right parts. Also, if you're going to go down these roads, you'll want to budget for a GOOD tune

  5. Not impossible to fix the ecu but it's a right PITA. Herrods is your best bet
  6. those ribbed hoses create turbulence which then limits airflow. Wouldn't put one on any car I owned

  9. Some early BA's had issues with the cam solinod getting gummed up I believe. They stuck and started a bad idle which got worse until a stall. They released a flash that purged the cams on startup which fixed the issue iirc Only had issues at slower speeds too. Only other thing I can think would be coils breaking down??
  10. Even though it's possible to pick up extra boost, won't the ecus adjust the wastegate maps to hit the target boost over time?

  14. If the tune is good enough (eg wasn't a hack job) and all your sensors are working as they should, I wouldn't think it's required
  15. Welcome mate. Soliniod and actuator could be a bit stuck. There's a thread around here re putting in a bit of wd40 to loosen it up. I'd also check the condition of the plugs and see if they are ok. Start with the little bits first
  16. Might get a little bit of oil in it? Couldn't hurt to change it but really, if it's working, I wouldn't muck with it

  18. I personally avoid shell like the plague, horrible fuel, at least around here. The fact we're getting more europen cars on the roads now probably makes a good case to put prices up now while we're not really paying attention. Most of them are at least 95 if not 98 required
  19. If I wanted something that made a lot of noise when it wasn't really doing anything I'd get myself another girlfriend. I'd like it to shut up and behave like a normal vehicle until I poke it. And like my women, when I poke it, I want to hear noise
  20. To some extent but it has a lot to do with how fast the turbine spins at certain engine rpm
  21. Can anyone fill me in on what the NVH is like with the gtx? Looking to replace the 35/40 but I'm not a huge fan of the spooly goodness you get just poking around town with some setups. At the moment I like is as the noise comes on strong when there's a sniff of boost but doesn't sound like having a mack truck going through the gears when you're taking it easy

  24. I've got a dyno sheet of a vehicle sold here a while back that was making 425kw 900nm with a stock box. And it had seen a bit of drag time. It will last, who knows how long though....
