  1. I have only ever driven manual XR6Ts so can't give you a comparisoon, but all I want to say is if you have only had manual cars in the past, and you enjoy driving manual, when you get an auto, you will find it boring and wish you hadn't done it (well, that's how I felt when I bought my BMW). I didn't really feel that the clutch in the XR6T was heavy either. There are many cars out there with heavier clutches.

  3. I disagree with this only because although marijuana isn't seen as a hard drug here, and had she been busted in Aus, she would've got off probably with a suspended sentence at worst, but different countries have dfferent laws and different cultures and these should be respected. She knew the risk when taking the drugs into Indo. She's damn lucky she didn't cop the firing squad.
  4. hahaha I hope that was a typo
  5. In Vic the diameter of your wheels does not matter as long as your rolling diameter does not change from stock (actually I think there is a tiny allowance for extra diameter). There are also limits on width. Also, the issue with these cheapo wheel places is they put on the crappiest tyres which most likely will not comply with manufacturer load ratings, thus making your car defectable. Insurance also will not pay up if you have incorrect load ratings and are involved in an accident.
  6. For how long does it shut the throttle? Til you back off?
  7. how?? Bigger, heavier wheels compromise acceleration, handling around corners, and braking. Not to mention the fact that they look out of proportion and (in my opinion) cheap and ugly.
  8. Kinda defeats the purpose of owning a performance car, doesn't it?

    Yes!

I know the guy who took the original pictures - he WAS a 23 year old, and it WAS his own car. He was driving like a dick on a rainy day and lost it at about 150km/h. He was also being followed (but not persued) by a cop at the time of the incident. As for the comment, "Check this out..... just proves Expensive Daewoo drivers CANT drive"... well, that's just gay.
  10. How are they absurd? Especially the last one?
  11. Dosent matter how many times your car has been over 5,000 rpm. There is nothing illegal or wrong with doing so. If ford think they can void your warranty for that they can go and get because a T can rev up to about 5,800 rpm from factory. If its going to damage the motor then put a rev limit at 5 grand. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I'd be more concerned at them being able to tell for how long and how many times you'd had the rear end "lit up" as they would void warranty on a lot of the drive line components.. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> How could they tell if you have lit up the rear bags... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> ......because the revs wont match the wheel speed? abs sensors? A second or two wouldnt matter, but if its recorded 5800 rpm at 10km/hr for 10.85seconds, it would be fairly obvious, I have know idea what parameters are recorded though? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> If you're doing a burnout at 5,800RPM your speedo will not be reading 10km/h.
  12. wtf are you blind!? look at the tyre to guard clearance... Oh sorry... THERE ISNT ANY!!!! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I agree with the original quote - if you park half your car on the gutter, then the half that isn't on the gutter will "look" lower - the tyres will even sit up into the guards. I'm sure this car has been lowered, but not as much as the pic suggests.
  13. Thanks for the quick replies... so 3 months is probably the maximum? I'm sooo impatient!!
  14. I placed an order for an XR6T earlier this month - 6 spd, no options except premium sound. I was told that delivery would be sometime in September, but after chatting with a friend who works at Ford, I was told that sometimes cars are built within a couple of weeks. I also spoke to another XR6T owner who told me that he waited almost 6 months for his. So I was just curious how long you guys had to wait for yours. Is the 3 months I was originally quoted typical?

  16. I don't mean to sound like a smartarse as I'm only new to this board, but all M3Rs were white except one yellow one. Not that anyone would really care on this board Dallas, I'd love to see pics of your M5 - I'm a bit of a BMW nut myself... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> No offence taken, you have every right to say what you believe in the constructive manner you have. However when I picked up my X5 last month, they took me downstairs in the storgae area and the sales guy showed me a silver one with QLD plates. Could'nt stop drooling. Apparently the owners must sign a document stating that they will not drive the car in the rain? They way he put it I am assuming because of the power? This one has the Carbon fibre black roof with the rest of the car in silver. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> You're referring to the CSL, which is an E46 and came mainly in hyper-silver with a small batch of black ones. (and I mean a SMALL batch, as only 30-odd CSLs came into the country altogether) As Trumpy stated, the M3R is from the previous series, the E36.
