  1. I just vented my standard BOV to atmo, easy to reverse, takes 10mins. Sounds ok.. still undecided if I like it. Heres a vid. oxIONaRHI7o cLdnkZCYzxY
  2. I couldn't agree more with what dingah has said. I too went down the modding path, and chopped and changed ideas many times, before settling on what I have now. Unfortunately, I want a little more, but that means a new gearbox will also be needed.. which I don't wanna do at this stage. If I plan on keeping this car another 5yrs I'll do the gearbox, actuator and valve springs, then settle on that.. but at this stage I'm gonna sell the car within two years, so what I have is enough. Don't rush into anything mate, sit back, and have a read of all the posts members have made about their modding. I got a CAI installed for $500 when I didn't know bugger all about mods I learnt the hard way there! Then I deciced to get edit, and paid for the flash tuner plus custom tuning... then a few months decided I wanted more yet again, another money spending exercise. On my next car, there'll be no mucking around.. it'll be straight to a kit of some kind, spend once, and get it all done. Even if it means holding off on mods for a few months until you have ALL the money to do it all at once.. I'd be doing that. Good luck
  3. as I said, in conjunction with edit, and the way it is tuned, the cooler thermostat has helped. Let me explain my situation... I had a mail order tune from XFT, previously, Simon supplied a tune to be installed and "touched" up by Chris from blue power when he was in canberra. This resulted in 250rwkw. Not long after, I decided I wanted more power, so I sent my box back to Simon, and he put in a 300rwkw tune for me. I added bigger injectors, fuel pump, intercooler and cat. Anyways, Simon thought that a cooler thermostat was fitted to my car when he supplied the tune.. but, one was never fitted. Hence, I'd drive around, and even in the middle of winter the thermo fans would come on at 1/4 temp and stay on for the rest of the journey (temp gauge still reached halfway).. this was somewhat concerning so I called Simon and spoke to him, and it was quickly agreed that Chris mustn't have fitted the cooler thermostat on his visit. And Simon had tuned the car to factor this in. Once the cooler thermostat was fitted the thermo fans have been on once or twice, when the outside temp was hot and the car had been turned off for a few mins.. or in spirited driving. Otherwise, in conjunction with edit and the cooler thermostat my car hasn't been near 1/2 way. Hope this clears it up a bit.
  4. mine sits just over 1/4 in the middle of summer.. occasionally it got close to the middle on really hot days, stuck in traffic with spirited driving. I have a cooler thermostat though, in conjunction with edit etc etc
  5. :auto: poor bugger.. yep, he'd be lucky to beat a stock XR6T.. and 250rwkw? I reckon half the forum have that or more Geez, even 300rwkw is to some people here!! Let him enjoy his worked VR V8.. I don't think we have to prove anything to anyone who makes a claim like him sounds like he's fishing... who cares, I could make a dato 180b flog any falcon too, doesn't mean I'd want to be driving it though, a bit like the VR really
  6. I agree with bugster, I too was only gonna do edit.. but these things really are very cheap to mod. Unless something goes wrong Otherwise, 3-5 grand and you'll have yourself around 280-300rwkw.. and a lotta fun
  7. yeah that's so true
  8. microsoft is up there too. I wonder what the highest amount is
  9. Well, after viewing a thread on LS1.com, I checked out how much www.fordxr6turbo.com is worth. http://www.dnscoop.com/ It came out with $15316. It just pips the LS1 site. Interesting site, some of the sites out there are worth big big dollars.
  10. good stuff mate everytime I see some one post a "new" car, it makes me want to go and buy a brand spanker
  11. don't try and replicate it too often, or it might end in perhaps try some octane booster in the mean time and see how it goes? if it still does it, I'd be throwing it on the dyno and getting things checked out. Did it come with a 95ron tune at all?? perhaps try that tune and see what happens?
  12. yeah, mine go from 12.5 to 11.5.. mail order tune from XFT, so it's nice and safe. And fatz is right about the AFR gauge. You'll find that under normal driving/load it'll swing from lean-rich.. when under WOT it'll go to rich and stay there, indicating green. Or at least, that's what it should do, provided your car isn't ultimate lean. It's not overly accurate, but it's an indication, and something you can keep an eye, especially if you're worried about the afrs going lean for whatever reason.
  13. could have had mine for 26k, it's only got 40k on it, I would have driven to adelaide too.. would have been great fun. enjoy the new ride, they're great fun, especially when modded
  14. a recent Bogan special dyno'd, pulled 219rwkw completely stock.. so that's probably on the money... IMO, the F6s are probably closer to 280-290kw, considering we're seeing many produce 230+ on the dyno. Geez, if the SSVs came out with 270rwkw stock, it would be tempting to buy one
  15. it's coming.. I'll call it the APS Edit donation it's only two weeks away dags
  16. I've been meaning to donate for bloody ages now!! I think it's next on my to do list
  17. it'll only be slow until I put two turbos on it I'm keen on a phoon or GT with charger
  18. mine has 41k on the clock.. it's anyones for 30k ono with all mods and spares or 27k ono returned to stock '04 model, all mods listed in my sig, plus 4 19x8.5 rims, plus 4 17x8 rims (great rubber). Plus stock intercooler, plus another ASE intercooler (slight damage), stock cat, stock springs.. pretty much everything that's on it, plus what's in the garage I want a phoon, so I'm really starting to consider trading this in, or selling it.. mind you, if I don't get the prices I'm after, I'm not fussed, as I'll hold on to it till the '08 falcon is released..
  19. I love your attitude Brian I don't think I've ever heard you whinge or complain once about something breaking (mind you, having a 360rwkw F6 and STI is some awesome back up), and as you say, it's basically expected with the amount of effort put into that car. Good to see you're keen to press on and keep going, I look forward to the next stage
  20. I don't mind daylight savings here in canberra I'm a shift worker, and I love it that if I'm on a 12hr shift I can be home by 6-7pm and still have some light left until bed time. Nothing worse then waking up in the dark, and getting home in the dark
  21. I'd go injectors and fuel pump before I went for a full 3inch exhaust. Changing the cat only will give enough performance increase.
  22. 207.1
  23. bugger, and just when you thought all was about to be sorted sorry to hear mate!! but I guess if any car was gonna break a T56, it was gonna be yours! I hope it's sorted soon!! I'd love to see how much more power/torque it can make
  24. geez mate, you're game taking the T5 to the track with your power! it's the main reason I haven't bothered heading up for a run.. I just don't want the box to let go at this stage. I also struggle with a quick 2-3 change, and I often have to baby it in incase I miss it and over rev the engine
