  1. Hey Danno, I've just moved to Qbn!! I got a house given to me here, sooooo I cant complain! But its actually not as bad as I thought it would be! I was really considering renting it out, and buying elsewhere.. I'll do that in the future. But, as far getting to work, 8 mins down canberra ave and I'm there!! (that's at 6am with no one around and a little T fun!). Its actually quite close to woden civic and tugg! Now if only the people that sit on the porch drinking out of a brown paper bag would stop perving on my T!! Makes me slightly nervous! Good luck with the new move Savage!
  2. hey guys, I just bought cobalt electric boost/vac and afr for a total of $254 at autobarn. I asked about just a boost gauge, instead of boost/vac, and the price for just a 0 to 35psi boost gauge was around the $400 mark!! Buggered if I know why boost/vac sell for $125, but boost alone sells for near $400!! Can anyone shed light on that?? Getting my fpv pod soon. I'll try do a post with pics and installation, sort of a step by step guide!! in saying that, I'll be drinking while doing it,... sooooo we'll see how it goes!
  3. thanks again guys!! Dagabond, I've sent you a pm, thank you for your offer! hope to speak soon!
  4. hey guys, Are there any canberra typhoon owners here willing to help me out?? The time has come to add another mod to the car, and I want to get some gauges. Any one here willing to lend me their vin number?? I plan on buying the gauges today, and getting the pod whenever I can get my hands on an FPV one, dont really want the SS one! Cheers guys!! edit: forgot to say, you can contact me on 0409924036, thanks again!
  5. hey mate, how much did you pay for the fpv gauge pod?? just wondering, as down here in canberra I got quoted $250. got friends in newcastle, so it might be worth my while getting them to pick it up and bring one down when they next come to canberra.
  6. hey mate, the clicking noise you hear is the solenoid. A few T's have this problem but we've been told that it's nothing to worry about. It taps and vibrates against a panel in the car, and that's why its so noticeable. When my car was being tuned, they detached and relocated it so that it cant touch the panel, and therefore the clicking noise was decreased to the point where its barely noticeable, only some times you hear it. I think they just cable tied it to one of the battery leads. Get a custom tune, well worth the money spent!! Good luck!
  7. cheers for the replies guys. the 250 I have at the moment is slightly questionable, as the dyno appeared to be rather "happy". I'm guessing its more around the 240rwkw mark, but I intend to take it to DTS (where I had my original dyno run when the car was standard) and do a run before and after the IC. My problem is that Simon (extreme f6) lives on the other side of the country, so tuning and re-tuning or fixing slight problems will be one heck of a pain in the neck! Its for that reason I was going to try and do the IC, and then later I would most likely make a trip to melbourne to meet up with Chris (who worked for Simon on his canberra trip) to get it all sorted properly. Maybe I'll hold off on he IC for now! I was sort of just hoping that the ecu would detect cooler air and therefore make adjustments to suit. Sort of like driving on a -5 degree night in canberra!! whatever I decide to do, I will keep you guys posted and post my experiences! Maybe I'll try the IC, get it dyno'd and see how it goes, if it appears to be unsafe or I have advice it may become unsafe I will return the stock IC till I get the injectors and make the trip to melbourne! If anyone else has any thoughts, opinions or experiences with this sort of set up feel free to post up your comments!! the more info I get, the better judgement I can make.
  8. so the car shouldnt run lean? would having colder air (especially in winter) mean that more oxygen being sucked through could create an imbalance in the car? Will the edit or ecu adjust for the cooler air and allow variance? the last thing I want is to have the car start pinging! I have been advised by my tuner to get injectors before cooler, so maybe I'll do that. But if I can safely get away with doing the intercooler first without needing a tune, then I can do injectors and tune at a later date, and save money. surely there must be some people out there that have gone a similar way??
  9. cheers. I planned on putting it on the dyno once the intercooler was on, just to make sure afrs, boost and everything else was running within a safe margin.
  10. hey guys, just a quick question for the experienced. I currently have a custom tuned edit with CAI. I want to upgrade my intercooler, mainly for looks right now, but down the track I plan on getting a better clutch and then doing the injectors and exhaust. My question is, if I get a bigger cooler will I need a re-tune? I was under the impression that if I got a bigger cooler then it would just be like driving on a colder day, so therefore the edit would adjust the ecu?? Unfortunately I dont have the coin to do it all at once now! So step by step! Any help would be appreciated! Cheers!
  11. thanks spoonage. I rang my mate who works at ford yesterday, and he said it could also be heat shield, but im doubting that... either way, I've made him aware of it, so when it goes into service, he'll know. and if it goes bang, then he'll also know!! not too fussed at this stage... unless I start hearing it more often!
  12. thanks envy, yeah I think I might make a phone call and get it out there as soon as I can. dont want anything major going wrong!!
  13. hey dynowog, is it a serious issue?? the car is due in for its 30k service in 5k, do you think it can wait? or should I get it checked out asap? I tried to pm you, but it wouldnt allow me to.
  14. cheers guys!! looks like I'll take the beast in and see what can be done!
  15. hey guys, Over the past few months I've noticed a strange noise when I reverse. When moving, I hear a tink sort of noise. Can only describe it as maybe a rock inside a tin can? Just being rattled? It doesnt happen all the time. Has anyone ever experienced anything like this?? If so, any ideas? Sounds as if it might be coming from engine bay area... doesnt sound gearbox related, or clutch related... as far as I remember, it happened pre-edit, as well as with edit. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!! Cheers people!
  16. hey dude, saw your car cruising past parliament house the other day, looks sweet!! looks much better in real life, especially while moving!! what springs you using in it? looks good! that's ride height I was hoping mine would be, but just doesnt seem to look as low!!
  17. Thanks to Simon and Chris and all at extreme ford tuning for the great work done on my T! 251rwkw, and a pure pleasure to drive!! Cheers boys, and I look forward to catching up with you again in the near future!
  18. hey mate, the ride comfort isn't too bad at all. Got pretty good roads here in canberra, so I suppose that helps a bit! It is a bit bumpy at times, but not uncomfortable. It feels firm on the road though... I had to make a compromise between looks and performance!
  19. My Rims, 19" Fusion. Nankang tyres. Seem good for the price. Particularly as I dont push the car to its greater limits all the time. Handles well in the wet too. Rims were $2700 including tyres
