All paid and done! So it'll just be as many 24 games as we can get?? or will you look at a system 10 etc depending on entrants? Either way, lets hope our combined luck will pull us through!! Not too interested in working anymore, pretty keen to retire next week! -

Ba Mkii Shockwave Paint Problems

I was told that warranty for paint was 5 years.. This was from one of the service managers. -
I brewed a few batches a few years ago, and to be honest I preferred my home brew to bought beer.. Having said that, constantly cleaning bottles got the better of me. But for anyone that could be bothered to do it, it's worth it. My advice is to keep an accurate record of the brew, ingredients and brewing temp etc.. that way when you find the one you like you can replicate it. There's a good website out there www.aussiehomebrewer.com.au it has some great info.

I had same thing happen in my XR (only a few times in the XR) and fairmont.. With the fairmont it always happened after I hadn't driven the car for a while.. When I first bought the fairmont (before I had a chance to change oil etc) it used to do exactly the same thing as yours if I had left it in the garage for a few days and not started it.. a mate said it sounded as though the valves were sticking due to dirty oil or something... Ever since I did a full flush and oil change it's been sweet.. I used to turn off as soon as it started up and sounded rough.. then I'd wait a few minutes and try again.. Wasn't game to try driving it while it sounded like that. The fairmont blew a fair whack of smoke trying to start it when it did kick over too.. but as I said, since I did the oil flush/change it hasn't missed a beat..

Ba Mkii Shockwave Paint Problems

I took mine in last week and I'm waiting to hear back from ford.. initial inspection by the onsite manager said it looks like most of the front will be done, and some of the rear... I'm gonna push for a full respray though.. (provided they cover it at all, after reading BF_F6Shockwave's story).. -

I'll certainly push the issue.. they'll probably just re-spray the fuel flap and wait to see if the rest of the car shows symptoms.. Hopefully I'll get a car to drive while mine is off the road... -

I just noticed paint flaking on the fuel flap of the fairmont.. So far it's only isolated to the fuel flap.. Bought the car from ford in Nov. 2007... It's an '05 MKII .. Will it still be covered by warranty?? I guess I best be making a trip to ford to see what will be done about it.. Hopefully it'll be covered.. -
I'm in a couple.. The main one is with a group of mates who are slightly 'competitive'.. The other is with the missus and a couple of other friends. So far sitting on 2003pts.. Not doing too bad...

DO'H!! We've just bought a house... Although I'm sort of lucky that I already have a place to live, so down the track I can collect rent to help towards the repayments. Time to knuckle down and save as much money as possible I think..

I used to suffer from it really bad. It was to the point where it woke me at night, and stopped me going out for a drink. I had a helicobacter test (breath test), and then started taking somac. I had a scope done (just to check), but nothing showed up. Since I've been taking somac I can count on one hand the amount of times I've had reflux. I've only had it a couple of times, and that was due to me missing a few days of somac. I was supposed to have another helicobacter test, but so far my condition is being managed well by somac. I haven't been back to the doc for any follow ups on my previous scope, but I should get tested for helicobacter again and see about trying to sort it out once and for all... My brother gets it bad some times too, but he's too stubborn to go see his doctor. My advice is to go see your doc asap, get it all checked out.

seems like a nice way to make a bit of money I think.. $30 odd bucks a pop, send 100 letters out each week, and there's $3000 for your efforts. If the cars turn out to be good, then they could just claim that the driver changed it back prior to the test.. What a joke..

Wedding went well thanks mate!! Ended up spending a week in Fiji for the honeymoon, it was quite relaxing!! I didn't end up getting a tune, I'm just being content driving a normal car for a while. In the process of buying a house (had my offer accepted), so in the long run, I'm glad I got rid of the XR! (Never would have been able to save enough with it) Getting rid of it has let me save about $800 per month (maybe even more). Now that I've got my investment property, I'll keep the fairmont another 4 to 5 years, then buy another house and spoil myself with a nice car again.. Unfortunately for the wife, she'll probably get the fairmont I can't believe it's been over a year since I got rid of the XR, I still miss it But I guess in the long run it was for the best!

Raiders WON, one of the greatest GF's in history! Go the Raiders!! I can't help but wonder how much better they might have gone with a full strength squad.. or at least something that resembles a full strength squad.. they'd have to be the unluckiest team in the NRL this season for sure.. But they've done an awesome job to get to where they have!! Should be a good game against the sharks, I just hope the raiders fire in attack like they have the past few weeks.. should be an entertaining game!!

cheers ratter, The log book says it had a carbon flush at 60,000kms, so I'm guessing it was something similar to what you're using? I might get the injectors cleaned/serviced too while I'm at it, god knows what condition they might be in. Looks like I'll be up for a bit this service But once it's done, then I'll know where I stand with it. Considering I plan on keeping this car for a while, even when I get another XR (I'm hoping the missus will accept the hand me down) :smilecouncil:

cheers mate, that's the only article I found too. There isn't much info out there on it, makes me nervous

cool, cheers guys. I'll look into it some more and discuss with my mechanic. Just wanted a general idea before speaking to him!

g'day all, been a while since I've posted much on here since selling the XR6T!! Anyway, just wondering if anyone can shed some light on some stuff for me. I bought a fairmont last november, and I've done about 10,000kms since then. It's time for a service, so I thought I'd do most things just so I know it's been done. Although the car has a full history, I don't have much faith in the fleet servicing regime!! Car now has about 83k on the clock, and it had a service at 72k from ford. I was going to get my mechanic to do the basic service, plus plugs, trans oil change, and engine oil flush. Reason for engine oil flush, is that when I left the car sitting in the garage for a week, it was hard to start and blew a bit of grey smoke. Another mechanic mate suggested the valves might be sticking due to dirty gluggy oil. Since that one incident it's been running beautifully (it's driven most days). Going through the service book, I noticed that it's had a carbon flush at 60,000kms. What exactly is a carbon flush?? And why would it be needed? Is it common? Is there anything else I should look at doing? I also thought of doing a cooling system flush, but it seems to be going well. Figured I'd leave the coolant stuff until it reaches summer. Any advice or comments would be greatly appreciated!
