  1. Mega late reply. I'm in Canberra mate, but will to come up to Sydney for a cruise after winter. Well, the chasers went on and the wing came off. I'm yet to be pulled over or defected, and I've not been mistaken as a hoon. The car has been faultless over the past 11 months and pretty enjoyable to drive, apart from the auto, which has bored me to tears. When I was researching xr6t's everyone said get the 6spd auto there great and so nice to drive. Next up is a manual conversion as well as stock BF lights, front and rear bars and skirts As it sits:
  2. No wonder this place is f*cking dead.
  3. You guys are quick to criticise on something that's not even finished. Great forum!
  4. LOL, each to their own. I'll call it what ever I want.
  5. Cool. I must of been imagining it when my new falcon ute came with chasers, when my parents bf had 16" chasers, when 3 of my ef/el's had chasers. Lots of taxis/ex taxis also run chasers. I see falcons day in day out with chasers.
  6. One car I've always missed was my 323. The main reason I missed it was because it was the ultimate sleeper. Wanting another sleeper I needed a good base to start with. As much as I love old cars, the availability of spare parts is getting very thin. I wanted something that had potential to blend in with the crowd and something that was easy to get parts for so I picked up a low K BF XR6T on the weekend. I'm about to go overseas but will get into it once I get back. In basic: -Chaser wheels -Lower and stiffer suspension -Mods to get me to about 350-400kw And that's about it 8-) So here it is: First job was to fix the manifold leak I heard when on the test drive. Didn't take long to find: Went through and tightnened all the lose bolts and replaced a couple of missing bolts and a stud. One of the idlers was noisy too, I will get a kit for it in the upcoming weeks but for now I serviced the bearing: New wheels arrived this morning: I will chase down another pair that I will get widened.
  7. Hello I have recently bought a xr6t and today I checked the manifold and turbo bolts. As expected most were loose and one missing. The one missing is the bottom rh stud (when looking from drivers side) from turbo to manifold. I have a replacement stud and a bolt just in case, but with my big hands I don't think this will be possible without removing parts. What's the best way to go about this and what parts do I need to remove to make this easier? Cheers
  8. Is it best to replace this with an actual trans cooler?
  9. Thanks Ciaran, did ford fit trans coolers to the BF or is that something I should add whilst I'm servicing it?
  10. Ah ok. So will it require the $200 fluid or the $700 fluid?
  11. What I'm asking is, is it the normal 6spd or the BMW type 6spd?
  12. G'day, I recently purchased a 2007 BF XR6T 6 spd auto. I'm in the process of giving it a good going over, how ever the only thing I don't want to do is crawl around under it servicing the transmission. I email my mechanic and asked for a price on giving it a service, his response: "Depends which transmission it has. The normal 6 speed is ok it takes a Dex 6 fluid which is 16.50 a lt. will use up to 14 lt. to get a good flush plus the gasket / filter kit probably about $40. and labour $85. If it has the BMW type transmission the fluid alone is about $700. The plastic pan is replaced to replace the filter also expensive." My question is: how do I know which transmission is in my car? Also, will it have a trans cooler as standard or is this something I should be adding at the same time? Cheers
