  1. Back the truck up Darule!!!....... I'm a Mechanic.... mate!!, and YES... we are always rig........ Oops,.... I see what you mean Just kidding Adrian
  2. Hi mate.... Had my beast 20k, had 8 visits so far, coolant leaks repaired 5 times (3 times for the same leak!!), Diff change, brake shudder, twice reflashed, warped trims, jammed console lids, hard starting, boost actuator failure...... BUT, when it's going well - it goes really well. I'm sure you guys could relate to this list of warranty crap.... Yeah?? Leeast it don't have a recall on 'side airbags' like the general has at the mo Anyway zd.... hope your T gets better from the near future mate Cheers Adrian
  3. Ok.. I'm to lazy to read the owners manual, so I asked the ford guys where I go, and the answer was to check the fluid every service by sampling through the filler plug in the box, checking colour, smell etc. If I want it, then the standard service for the box is $160... for a full flush as well (for which I was told about 13.5 litres go through), it would cost $225 total. I will be doing mine at @ 65000k's. Supposed to make changes smoother and firmer..... anyone had a full flush? Does it do this? As for the first gear and planetry gear whine, my beast is 07/03 model with currently 62500 ish k's, I drive it fairly hard, and to this date (touch wood), no complaints from my box'o'gears.... I say hit 'em hard for warranty where you guys can on the boxes Cheers Adrian
  4. Name and ride.... self explanatory Age: 36...... Occ: Mechanic, work on almost anything Cheers Adrian
  5. I'm there with anything hard rock or good metal to get me up to the designated zone much faster than normal... but.... Cold Chisels "Bow River" has a bad effect on the gas pedal after work..... especially with the w/shop in the rear view. On cruises at speed (which never happens :wink1:), anything decent that's fast in beat. Adrian

    Nankangs

I got a set of NS2's as well.... I'll go along with the verdict. I had to replace a damaged (from a phurken large pothole!!! ) tyre 2 days ago, and the price was acceptable to me... $190 for 235/40/18. As far as I'm concerned.... for a family runner that does the occasional workout with me behind the wheel, they look great... grip great.... and are priced fair. Why pay bucket loads of $$$$ unless you are looking for ultimate performance from your tyres...... which all let go in the wet if you try hard enough anyway??? I reckon you could do a lot worse mate..... Cheers Adrian

  8. Not sure on whether you guys have to take the ICC out when you hook up extra audio components, as I haven't done any.... BUT, if you DO.... on a recent night course I did, they (FORD), state that if you tilt the ICC Module more than 18 degrees, you have the possibility of damaging the CD player by internal components dislodging if it is empty. And under no circumstance, lay it down, as this will cause the liquid crystal display to deteiorate from that point on.... Only way to best avoid this is to keep the player full with CD's in the unit, and as upright as possible. Apparently in shipping when new though, this LCD does not get damaged supposedly due to the fact that they have not been powered up. The CD players also have an "assembly" card preventing the CD player components from dislodging in shipment. Just thought I should share info given on the course Cheers ADRIAN .

  12. Seat belts rubbing on the height adjuster slide...... Yeah, I got that prob also... It seems to me that if your not a big, 'seat all the way back' dude, your interior is prone to wear. Another design fault, sorry... standard feature.. of the falc. Back for warranty here also....... AGAIN!!!! Oh well, like they say..... FEACES OCCURS Adrian

    Helmets Please!

Hi guys, Thanx all for the thoughts and best wishes. Myself and family appreciate them both. My boy is now home, sooner than doctors expected. I'm glad to say that these are his words: 'I'm NEVER riding without a helmet again. I have learnt the hard way that I HAVE to wear it Dad'. At least for now I can be assured that he will not forget this experience in a hurry. Once again, thanx all for your support. Adrian.
  17. Hi guys, this is not a usual topic, but please read it for what it's worth... I'd like to take this opportunity to remind all with kids to please, please make sure that when they go out riding, or skateboarding, or anything to do with wheels and concrete... make sure that minimum safety gear is worn. Particularly HELMETS. We all like to think that what we tell our kids gets through, but the fact is that they ARE kids, and memory is sometimes short lived... I ask this due to the fact that my own 11yo boy is at this moment being watched by my wife and the Nurses/Doctors at Nambour hospital with a fractured skull... all because he forgot to put on his helmet. It was a skate bowl accident that COULD have been much worse.... nevertheless, it was an agonising wait in emergency last night, going through X-rays and Catscans to get at least partially good news that there was no spinal damage. Now comes the watching to see if there is any injury side effects. I am not looking for sympathy, but would not like to see anybody go through what myself and my wife melinda have done in the last 40 or so hours, as so many othe parents have already also done. Our son Darren was lucky, so far... I know that we all as adults... or most of us, think safe most of the time... but it only takes one accident to potentially ruin or take away a life. This, our kids NEED to know. Helmets DO save lives.... Bone is NOT stronger than concrete. It's a pretty obvious statement but one that "indestructible kids" need to know, so please remind Yours next time they go out to ride Thankyou for your time all ADRIAN
  18. Mate, I aint clued up on the mod's like the other guys here as I haven't had any...but, what I do think is that you should be asking Q's, and how! As for the actuator bleed off.. (other guys correct me if I'm wrong) 10 psi going down to 7-8 psi would be good I would think, as you don't need peak boost constantly, so that part, I would expect is normal operation. if your actuator was u/s you would only pull about 160 - 170 rwkw in stock form, I know, because that's all I got on the dyno at the dyno day, max 171rwkw with a u/s actuator giving me peak of 3.8 psi levelling to 1.7psi. good luck on the tune and may HP become your addiction.... Adrian
