  1. has anything been done to strengthen gearbox or tailshaft/input shaft? I'm at 325rwkw with the standard FG turbo on my xr6T and I'm thinking about changing the turbo for more power but it's a daily and I'm worried about gearbox/trannie/tailshaft etc and any other reliability mods that need to be done so I dont cook it lol
  2. sorry to dig up an old post. I'm having this issue on my mkII FG xr6T. On normal driving it never comes up, but when I floor it and go past full boost, most of the time (not all) it will trigger the DSC error and traction control will be off. Turn the car off and when I turn it back on, DSC error is gone again. Anyone know the cause?

  4. will I need to return it to stock to take it to another tuner? Cant take it as is and just get him to start the tune again? I assume I'll need to put back on the stock injectors so the engine doesn't flood, everything else should be fine?

My god you were right. lol It is still stalling -.- Not only this, but someimtes when I floor it, it will hold around 4,000rpm and feels like its spitting power abit then keeps going past 4,000rpm. Is this tune related also or is this spark plug issue? Stalling still happening, really getting frustrated.
  7. after carefully looking through the tune, my tuner has spotted what he thinks is the problem and its in the transmission tune. I am taking the car back in tomorrow at 10am so fingers crossed this is the issue. I will let you guys know the outcome.

  9. Yeah I will keep everyone updated as things happen. Its good to hear other opinions from everyone here because it would seem at this point even the tuner doesn't have a definitive idea of what the problem is.
  10. the more suddenly I stop, the more likely it is to stall (under 1/2 a tank) If I cruise to a stop it wont stall most of the time. Although with a full tank as mentioned, I haven't stalled once yet. As turbotrana said though I could start it again tonight and it might start happening again. Tuner suggested a new fuel filter. I guess that's my next option for now unless he thinks its in the tune.
  11. pull what out the filter? I wouldn't have a clue how to lol. In any case, I'd be happy to pay the $30 and put a new filter in anyway because I'm pretty sure the FG's need to be changed after 60,000kms anyway. I'm at 42k. Just wanna get it up and running reliably ASAP. its doing my head in all day and night lol
  12. never had an issue prior to the tune/mods at all. Never stalled before, never even sounded or felt like stalling...
  13. I am working with my tuner on the issue, he hasn't mentioned anything about changing anything at the idle though. he said maybe we'll change the fuel filter... I just thought its strange how it will happen every time when the car is under half a tank of petrol :\ and not so much (not at all so far) when the tank is full.
  14. nah I didn't replace the fuel pump. Could that be the issue?

    noise will improve heaps with a new cat and more boost. the cooler and turbo side intake as well. sounds like a jet engine sucking in and boost and the exhaust sounds much louder with the cat, even at idle, but its not loud like an exhaust would be, its the right kind of loud, only when you want it to be. No drone on the highway either. you will love it
  16. boys heres an update that may help! The stalling only occurs when im less than half a tank of petrol!? :S I filled up tonight and it drives a treat! but when I get below half a tank, stalls when I stop. wtf is up? lol

  18. Haha camo its with one of the top 5 reputable tuners in Victoria with a good track record. I have been planning the mods since I bought the car in 2013 and so carefully chose my tuner. Although its yet to be seen if it was a good choice :\ I'm waiting to hopefully hear back from him today with any solution or idea. Stalling at the lights is so embarrassing lol not to mention dangerous
  19. The quote says 1000cc injectors but don't mention a brand or anything so I'm not 100% sure unfortunately which is my fault. There is only one tune that I am aware of and it stalls when I come to a complete stop I'm hoping my tuna gets back to me today. he said he will look through the computer for anything odd and get back to me ASAP.
  20. yeah fair call. It only stalls when I stop the car and the revs go to around 600rpm. Basically the issue is at idle and its compounded as soon as I stop and they drop that's when it will stall. During normal driving the car is absolutely fine
  21. Turbotrana great response mate really appreciate it. I think you are 100% right. I mean I am very unhappy that I've paid good money only to have the car stall on me its really not acceptable. The fact that the tuner does not know instantly what is wrong is worrying for me as any solution he comes up with is basically going to be a stab in the dark. I will wait to hear from him and if he can't find a solution this time, I will as you suggested politely ask him for a refund on the tune and take it to another tuner to see if they can solve the issue. Is stalling going to damage my engine? Obviously I'm avoiding driving it at the moment but its my daily and I cant really afford to leave it at home every day.
  22. yes I took it to him this morning, he changed a few digits in the tune and I left. On my way home, same thing happened. I've put it to him again, waiting for a solution. :\
  23. Masda, thanks for explaining that for me. It seems like the best way to go I think. If he cannot fix it this time, I will request my money back for the tune and go elsewhere. Appreciate all of your advices, I didn't mean to sound disrespectful to turbotrana as I'm sure he is very experienced. (certainly more experienced than me!!)
  24. cant really ask for money back because I've got all the parts on the car lol? plus why would he even give the money back if I'm going to go elsewhere, he would just say GFY lol. Id rather find a solution with the tuner, I took it back to him this morning and he tried to fix it and couldn't, I'm awaiting his next solution.
  25. 1000cc injectors I'm not sure of the brand the invoice doesn't say. Tuner supplied them, I dont want to mention the tuner because I'm not here to make him look bad. I havent bashed the limiter, I have hit redline on a couple of quick runs but no bashing.
