how is your ground clearance with the 4" magic cat??? would it be too much bother getting a photo to show this?? am interested in this but am worried of ground clearance Heres a pic I had on my pc, the clearance is fine. Hope this helps!

I run around 288rwkw with a 4 inch Magic Performance cat, married to the stock dump pipe. All other pipes are stock except the Center muffler removed. STANDARD VALVE SPRINGS too!

Cheers for the reply mate, Im looking at the different options for cats, the Metallic substrates flow well but they're not much chop if they turn into a tennis ball stuffed up your exhaust pipe are they??? Interesting....

I have heard continuous reports on different forums about various Cat Converters breaking down internally, including ones like SMB etc. Results in obvious exhaust blockage and the car loosing power. Has anyone had a problem like this with either their stock Cat or an aftermarket one? Who has ever checked theirs? Opinions? Oh, and while where on topic, has anyone fitted another type of Cat to the SMB dump pipe??

that's great buddy! Do the injectors and the dump before the cooler, if you are a little restricted for $$, as this will make the most difference! enjoy the new beast!

My girlfriend is looking at buying the 2004 RS impreza. Just wondering if anyone has one or knows about them, and can answer these questions? 1) Wats the weakest part of the car to look at when buying one second hand? 2) Do they run/sound good with a bigger exhaust even though they dont have the turbo? 3) Are the Factory services expensive? 4) Are spare parts expensive? 5) Finally, what should one in good excellent condition (less than 30,000km) be worth? Thanks for the info! Wow, Its bad stuff! I guess as a cheap form of octane booster its ok. I wouldnt want any of that stuff in my plastic swirl pot inside the plastic fuel tank! Who knows what it can do!

so does a 10% mix lift the octane level up as good as a bottle of Pro Strength?

Well, its time for me to do the tranny oil and service kit. Just wondering if there is any type of oil that has been tested and prooven to be better than the standard TQ-95? I have a tranny cooler fitted to a standard auto, which allows me another 700ml of fluid over standard. Not that it means a lot. I talked to a guy at the Penrite stand on the weekend, he suggested a new full synthetic they have recently released. Not to sure about full synthetics though. Any tips?

Are you for real? Fibreglass stripper!?? I have some thinners I use at work for adding to lacquer when spraying clear coats on furniture, comes in 2 drying speeds too. Maybe that would be the go.....

Mick, I feel for you buddy. Being from Canberra, for those that dont know, We have NO ONE here that is a competent edit tuner for the BA Falcons. Please understand that for those of us in Canberra that want what we would hope to be reliable, consistant tuning work on our 6T's, we have either had to ship our cars away at great expense for weeks on end (Like you did!) or join in when we have had someone with an idea on a trip (Xtreme/bluepower and Dynowog have been the only 2 that have been) Either way, there is no easy way of offering the full after sales service that living around the corner from HPF or Nizpro or Xtreme tuning may offer. The point Mick is quite correctly making is that it is Very hard to get anyone to come to Canberra, and considering that you have packed your pride and joy on the back of a transporter, sent it to somewhere in Melbourne you have never been too, for over 2 weeks, and when getting it back isnt what you had hoped for, you have a right to be dissapointed. Then to have them say they would have a look at it while theyre here in town and nothing to eventuate, is terrible. Hope it works out for you mate.
