  1. Its Odd that you still have 4th gear, as the band that controls 2nd also is used to operate 4th.
  2. Awesome stuff mate, go the Modded Canberra T's!!!
  3. I thought that she was one of the groupies you guys from Victoria seem to attract to the drag nights at Calder park! She can sit on the in track with us next time!
  4. Id use their sh*t for toothpaste.
  5. I got a phone call from a gorgeous ex-girlfriend of mine today... We lost track of time, chatting about the wild, romantic nights we used to enjoy together. I couldn't believe it when she asked if I'd be interested in meeting up and rekindling a little of that "magic". "Wow!", I exclaimed, "I don't know if I could keep pace with you now! I'm a bit older and a bit bigger than when you last saw me!" She just giggled and said she was sure I'd rise to the challenge!!! "Yeah", I said, "just so long as you don't mind a man with a waistline that's a few inches wider these days!" She laughed and told me to stop being so silly. She teased me saying that tubby men were cute. "Anyway, I've put on a few pounds myself!" she giggled. So I told her to fu*k off.
  6. Just digging up this old thread! Hasnt anyone in Canberra run their car down the quarter? I know Spoonage did at calder. Anyone else from the ACT?
  7. Just interested in reading this whole topic about drag times, Im a little confused. According to the signature Geesemans car has 350rwkw and 950nm of torque, in an auto, and is a member of the NSW 12 second club. Geea has currently 330rwkw, has a car currently with no second gear that ran a 10.9 on the weekend as an ION 2 speed. I think blind freddy can work out who should be doing the talking about drag times.
  8. It would have to come with a new wiring loom and ECU to run it mate, so prepare for sh*t loads!!!
  9. Yeah, Unfortunately buddy I would agree with everyone above, I dont know if there is any way that the ION 4 speed could be upgraded to handle 400rwkw consistantly. It would be more than worth your while to start looking into the old C9 3 speed auto to get reliability at those sort of power levels. And some really good tyres!
  10. I have a 10/04 manufacture date Mark 1 ute in Mandarin! Work that one out!
  11. Thanks for all your tips guys, I might have a play around with some of these before I head to AWISA (Woodworking and joinery show in july!) and see what is the go. I may buy a CNC router in the next few years, bring on the billet alloy parts in my spare time!
  12. I wasnt having a go at the car itself, just some lapses in design that should be sorted out better. Believe me, when Im stomping on the throttle at 15psi I couldnt give a F A R K about the fuel cap!!! Either could anyone else, as they wouldnt see it! But its better that I have a whinge about some minor things that could have been approached better than say "its got sloppy pistons and uses oil!" like some of the Commy forums! You will enjoy it mate, dont worry!
  13. Hi, As the title says, Im looking for some advice from anyone that is involved in CAD design systems. I run a small (17 staff), custom built timber furniture business, totally without computerized machinery. Zero. Even the design drawings are freehand sketches. Everything is made to measure every time, in similar styles but never exactly the same, hence the reason I havent worried about getting set up for CAD work, as I hear its a *beep* to get set up. The other problem I have is that we have over 300 different products, so whatever software I get will have to be easy to enter specifications into. I was wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction to start looking at CAD software, of free test downloads of a sample of software that I could use to get started on? Im not even sure its worthwile wasting my time with. Even feedback on software that you are currently using or that could be used in my situation would be greatly appreciated! Cheers!
  14. Best I have ever seen was a T5 2004 with 2nd cai and filter make 214rwkw. After a tune it made about 260rwkw. Same day and dyno that Jimmy ran 192rwkw.
  15. Actually, the tranny cooler was the only thing I actually bought here in the ACT, from Filter Factory in Fyshwick (Also known as Enzed). They could sell me a PWR tranny cooler cheaper than anyone else even on the net!
  16. I dont think there is a cooler made for the typhoons buddy, have to go aftermarket. Ford are real sh*te about this subject, so it depends on your relationship with your service manager and his attitude. Belco are much better than Gregory's or Woden about this sort of stuff. DTS can fit one for you like dingah said, If you can put up with the whinging, miserable cranky old tight ass that owns it! Charged a mate of mine $180 for a power run on the dyno a few weeks back!
  17. Yes, there is some good ones on here, but let me add, THE ABSOLUTE CRAP FUEL FILLER DOOR ON UTES! This is the worst piece of engineering on the entire BA-BF range! -They put a straight door on a curved body shape -They used an ugly finger pull door release with no lock instead of an internal in car opening flap like a sedan -There is no security for fuel, Non locking fuel cap, which should be the least they could do considering they f$%ked up with the filler door! -There is no shroud or anything around the filler nozzle when theres such a gaping big opening behind the filler cap door. I can just about check the opposite side tyre wear the hole is that friggen big! The general design of the fuel tank in utes is ! -No inspection port for removal of fuel pump system without hoisting it up just about taking the tank out! -The moulded neck on the tank, combined with the stupidly located charcoal canister make pulling out the tank a mission in itself. Other stupid things with the design include- -Airbox and battery should have been swapped from factory and saved a fortune on pipes and cross over plenum design. -Lower intake mesh non existant (I thought they would have at least amended this with the BF, but no!). -The discustingly poxy overflow tank that looks like its been filled with dioreah after its been cooked for 12 months from sitting near the exhaust manifold. -The butt ugly Torneu fixing buttons- Why couldnt us torneu users get a nice one like the Holdens have had for years? -Rear tail gate seal on the utes, forever coming off whenever the tailgate is dropped! Anyway, enough for my rant!
  18. Nice theory mate, but I dont think there is an rpm function that can adjust shift pressures in accordance with RPM. Im not 100%, but I dont think so. My gearbox actually shifts harder under more acceleration due to the physical modification, and since my software is set at factory, there is no increase of line pressure via software at this stage. If I did I think it would feel like the ute body might twist off the chassis every change!
  19. Actually, I was surprised when I was down there watching you guys that no one had a CO2 extinguisher to hit the intercoolers with before they went out. Even a can of Burn spray works a charm. All the turbo intercooled guys at the summernats use some sort of spray on the cooler before their dyno runs. I know nothing about drags but surely this would help??? Me abd Deano have tried that. It didn't help. Geea. Gee, Is there anything you havent tried, broken, used and abused buddy?!!!

  21. Hit the full stop button dude and take a breath!
  22. My Falken 451's will be rooted in no time, believe me. The bump into second is harder than the rest at slower speeds, but not bad. The best thing is the big bump with a manual change at 6000rpm from 2nd to 3rd, that's what I was missing before. Over 150km/h (on a private test track for sure ) its ten times better. Im hoping to get it down for the Vic weekend in june to see what it can do. I was so jealous of everyone last time you guys were at Calder and My ute was at home in bits!
  23. performance wise is great, like I said it feels like someone has all of a sudden given me another 30rwkw or something! I can stand on it anythime and it revs up quick , but the speed is what makes it such a killer on the road. In traffic, left in normal drive, its fine, there's a bit of a bump between gears, but I think the tranzmax has softened this more than some guys using dextron 3. The only real thing to get used to is that at about 80km/h in normal drive, 4th gear at 1400rpm or so, if you want to increase it just a little to say 100km/h, I just cant squeeze the pedal down as hard as I used to or it will wind up rpm and boost so quick you will be at the 120km mark before you know it. Just something to get used to, but its amazing how drivable everyday this thing is. Better than I expected, that's for sure.
