Its a hard way to see it chief, but the whoile "EX" thing is just wasting your time and energy. Im my opinion, the only way your gunna know what your relationship with her is really worth, is to distance yourself from her completely and see how much your companionship really means to her. If she finishes up her crap with old mate and comes looking for you then you wont have to worry, and you and her will be happy. If she gets back with him, then you wont have to worry either as it was never going to happen. If you keep hanging out like clothes on the line, there's no telling how long this may go on and you may end up being tired as well as wounded by the time anything looks like producing a result. Dont shy about the internet dating thing mate, some of its good fun and others are just head cases! I did it for a few months, hooked up with a few ladies, and broke up with them for reasons ranging from them turning into stalkers, down to simply having too much hair on her twot! Best of luck!

I have had a look around the CAPA website after reading some positive results about the swaybar upgrades, and noticed they sell whiteline sway bars for BA Falcons, and also rear swaybars for BA utes. From their website- Ford BFF21 BA Front Swaybar, 27mm Dia. $ 143.00 BFF21X BA Front Swaybar, Extra Heavy Duty, 30mm Dia. $ 183.00 BFF21Z BA Front Swaybar, Adjustable, 27mm Dia. $ 258.00 BFF21XZ BA Front Swaybar, Adjustable, 30mm Dia. $ 258.00 BFR42 BA Rear Swaybar, 22mm Dia. $ 183.00 BFR42Z BA Rear Swaybar, Adjustable, 22mm Dia. $ 258.00 BFR58 BA Utility Rear Swaybar, 20mm Dia. $ 183.00 Anti Tramp Kit (Utility Only) $ 65.00 Just Wondering if anyone here has used Whitelinse swaybars in their ute? The sedan guys are raving about them at the moment. Also the anti tramp kit from Capa for the Diff? Just wondering if for $65 it does anything?

Bought one from MRT Performance, it shat itself after 9 months. Just siezed up completely. I bought another the same and replaced it. Problem was not really to blame on the pump, more so crap dirty fuel. Seems to run my 968's ok without any other fuel system mods. Bit fiddly to install correctly, make sure the hoses dont blow off.
-
Good stuff Dingah. I looked on the website and it seems they make an anti roll bar for the ute rear suspension. Might be a worthwhile investment with their anti tramp kit. Has anyone fitted the ute version???

Gee, Thanks buddy! The problem with the core sitting behind the front bar support is the same for every one. What I lose in height, I gain from more of the rows going out to the full width (As far as the air con allows anyway!) theres plenty of depth with a 100mm thick core too. The bottom tank is pretty well down (actually touching) in the lower section of the front bumper, so its not really in the road. See for yourself, Anyway, 3 back to back dyno runs gets only around 5 rwkw of difference, its more than enought for a streetable XR6T. Im not doubting there are better ones out there, but its not as bad as you make it sound.

started a thread on our club forums tonight, will see how we go. should be around 5-10 fellow Ford fans!!!

My hyperflow cooler sits right in the guts. Was a lot of work getting it there though. Some may work better, but im yet to see one better made than the Hyperflow. Check this out- Intercooler install And a pic of Comparison

Looks like an astra crossed with a BA falcon!

What drugs are you on, toe rag? Get back to your pixels, maybe someone has a pixel art view of a f*cked fuel pump for an envi XR6T sedan?? One that uses more fuel with standard injectors than a modded GT? K*#t!

Get out and drive your car you nerd.

Here's something to look at guys, Attached are 2 pics of a band out of a late 1980's model Mercedes benz Gearbox. Check out this band. Its 185,00km old 20 years ago, Mercedes were clever enough to realize that the bands had to be strong enough to take whatever any of their models would throw at them, so they engineered the band to be fitted in every version of their gearbox from their little 4 cyl up to the 6.9 ltr V8 monster. As you can see, The ends are far from the pressed crap our fords get. The thickness of the band is actually more than double the thickness of the ion band and the ends are forged on. Notice its substantially wider, but the inside lining has ventilation grooves to allow oil to pass under it for cooling. Pic 2 Shows the amount of substrate left on the band, and the thickness of the strap on the band itself. If only we have had something like this in the ION 4 speed, Im sure it would have prevented plenty of the troubles we are having with it now!

Cheese cutters! that's a pair of 225 65 r 15's getting smashed. its regular wheels are 295 50 r 15's, and I can assure you it does the same thing just with a bigger $$$ sign attached.!!!

Well, it seems having a Father, 2 uncles and a brother as mechanics explains my lust to tinker with things. Here is a vid of my younger brothers HQ tonner, powered by a 454 chev he's built himself from the crank up!(not bad for 22 yr old!) Cant wait till its finally finished and we can all see how it holds up against my ute down the quarter head to head! Typical Holden, Needs some other engine in it to get it to go any better!
-
Thanks guys, hopefully we can get some good info on here and important feedback/ data for auto builders to get some ideas from. I can tell you now, as far as driving styles, I have never dragged my car down the quarter, and quite frankly haven't had too much worry finding someone willing to race at the lights that's even warranted much of a stall up. I drive my car on a winding road about 80km a day to work and back, in standard drive. If im squirting around town I'd leave it in performance mode but allow it to shift itself. If I had to work it out in percentages on where the gearshift is during the entire life of the car, I'd honestly say manually shifting would be 5%, performance auto shifting would be another 15% and standard drive would be the other 80%. Perhaps leaving it in drive has shortened the life of the box, apparently since the faster the shifts the better it is for the gearbox. the longer the gearshift takes the more stress that's put on the gearbox through increased time of friction. I cant see how leaving it in drive would shorten the life, but its a possibility under increased demands.

Sure is. Kevlar is made up of a certain amount of carbon. When the band lining stars to wear down, significant amounts of carbon are shed into the tranny oil, which catches them in the filter and the pan. Once your lining wears off, the band begins to burn or glaze the drum which causes the oil to burn. This will discolour the oil, giving it a silvery grey look, and together with signs of carbon in the pan, you know she's on her way out. The oil also has a very distinct smell when you drop the pan out. The car may start slipping before you see the burnt oil. You will be driving down the road and realize the RPM will gradually get higher and higher but your speed stays the same. Its about now she's fcuked!

Well, I thought since there has been about 4 or 5 of us that have had our auto's sh*t themselves in the last 2 weeks, and since ION supposedly monitor this site, I thought we could collectively get together and tell them what goes wrong with these things, since so many of us are finding them weakest link! This is also a be aware thread for anyone with a 4 speed auto and wants to spend money on making more power than around the 260 mark while leaving the auto standard. The following pics are from an XR6 Turbo, that was stock for 28,000km, then tuned to over 260rwkw with a tranny cooler and thermo fan fitted. The standard box than lasted around another 20,000km in that configuration before this happened. First is a pic of a burnt band, possibly the worst thing about these boxes. Thin, and with bugger all lining on them, they are easily worn out when made to pull more power. Notice the lining is totally removed in large sections of the band, showing that there is really no where near enough on there from the start. Its basically paper thin. Second thing shows the Gearset, with Teeth chipped off. This is a problem relating to the hardness of the metal when its toughened, becoming too hard its actually brittle and snaps off. 3 Teeth were smashed on this gearset. Third shows the damage to the rear gear drive (Im not sure its exact name!), as a result of the chips off the teeth getting all crunched up and moving to the back of the geardrive. So as we know, there are auto builders out there that are working on ideas and solutions to these problems, but there is more involved in making a gearbox than just replacing the bands and clutches with something supposedly stronger. There;s a lot of guys running bigger power (300kw plus!) with the 4 speed, but not many that have had no issues with the box even after upgrading. Just thought I'd post so everyone can get some idea of what actually happens. Feel free to add anything guys! Lets make this constructive and try and work on our own solutions to the problem.

Hi guys, Newly titled 'Assistant Events Co-Ordinator' of the FPV and XR Club of the ACT, Danno here! Just wanted to extend an invitation to anyone from the local area to come and watch the V8 Supercar race with our club on our own big screen at the Kaleen Sports Club, this Sunday! We will be arriving around the 12.30 mark, but the Club bistro will be operating from 12-2pm. Most of us will have a bite there before the race begins. We have our own function room booked, so If you just mention to the bar staff your with the 'Ford Club' they should direct you to the right area. Hope to see you there! Cheers, Danno

Hi people, I need some help. I am writing an article for my FPV and XR Club of the ACT magazine, about the Clipsal 500 race in Adelaide. I was wondering if anyone on here went, and if they did if they took any decent photos that I can use with your permission in our magazine? We are only a small local club magazine (about 60-80 printed!) but I'll be sure to get you a copy in exchange for the photos. Can you please send me a link to your web hosting address if they are already on the net, or Can you please maybe post them up in this thread as a small attachment, and if I can use any I'll PM the owner and ask for an email of something with a higher resolution. Thanks in advance.

He is a champion, that's for sure. I spoke with him personally at the FPV open day and he is leaving with his BF 6 Speed Auto Phoon, that's for sure. He also sat in NOSXR's XR6 and Purged the nitro button a couple of times for a few photos on our request! Legend!
