  1. I think...he means Tyre pressure as opposed to boost pressure. Yeah, sorry, a couple of brews and I was busy posting without thinking about it!!! 40 psi boost, I recon I could catch a flying piston here in Canberra!!! Well done on the time!!!
  2. Fark! Did someone say 40psi?? Is that true??
  3. Welcome Lisa, Tell Us about your ride?? I went to the show on Sat and Sun. The Ford stand was a little dissapointing. heaps of stuff to see though! well worth the look anyway!
  4. On that bionic BF F6, I thought the 19's were the most disgusting wheels I have ever seen.
  5. Im heading up from canberra on Sat morning, staying at the Casino sat night and making a bit of a weekend of it! Maybe if I win enough money at the casino I'll be driving something home!!!!
  6. sure theres nothing stuck in the tyre mate?
  7. $150 including delivery to canberra mate and you have just sold a set!?????
  8. Actually, the entire John Bowe Performance series products for the XR6 turbo. I almost cried, when a guy in our car club bought a 'John Bowe Performance Kit' for his XR6 Turbo. These are marketed by one of our local dealers, John McGrath Ford in Canberra. It was supply and installation of a Cat back exhaust, made for John Bowe by Redback exhausts, and its special feature was the twin tailpipes have John Bowe's signature on them. Also, It featured a 75mm throttle body, again made by SS inductions with JB's Signature all over it. And Final part of this excellent performance upgrade kit, was a Cold air intake, again with the Turbo enhancement specialist, John Bowe's signature all over it. Underneath his signature it clearly says "By SS Inductions" I watched patiently as this guy keenly rolled his car up on the dyno, and went from a stock run of 206 rwkw, to the new John Bowe performance kit tuning benchmark of 218rwkw. And the cost of this special upgrade package, a mere $3800, including installation. I nearly cried on the spot. Anything with JB's signature is a rip off piece of crap!
  9. SS Induction cold air intake- Useless!!!! Made or a cheap bit of plastic, its basically guaranteed never to fit properly under the bonnet, distort, crack where the screws fit it at the mouth of the opening, and get hot with the radiator temps. While it allows a lot of air in, its probabaly heating it up as it passes thru it! Just use the phoon intake! save $370! Is that a good enough first post???
  10. F6 Dyno sheet. Stock Internals and Exhaust with Xteme Tune only (for now??!!). Great any graphs showing boost? Second that motion :-) any graphs displaying what the boost levels are to achieve those numbers??? - if you have them... No graphs of boost, But I remember mine running up to about 15psi @2700rpm, then tapering off down to 11psi @5200. Stock wastegate and actuator. good to see some of my theory's (theory's ive been using / adopted) being used / adopted by other respected tunners!!! well done simon!!! The sequencial shift mode is the thing I like the best. I can drive around like a granny in drive, then smack it across into manual mode, and its like a racing box! shifting at 3900rpm, It chirps into second and then into third!!! Fast hard upshifts, then beautiful soft downshifts!!! The guys that have spend big dollars on grinding out and re-building gearboxes would be spewing now! All you need is to upgrade the clutch packs to something really good, and leave it alone!
  11. Is it safe to drive it conservatively until the tune is done, is really what im asking?? Why im asking, is that I love the current edit tune in my car, including the auto shift setup etc, and its running like a dream. Just got the bigger injectors in etc and Its just awesome! I have ordered a new Hyperflow intercooler, which should be here in the next few weeks. If I put it in, I would need a re-tune, and the tuner lives on the other side of the country!!!!! Only option I have is to leave it out until I get to melbourne to get it adjusted! Or get someone else locally to tune it, which nothing against any of them, I dont really want to do. Its too big of a risk to fit it then drive to Melb! so your car is edited? then yes it will run FINE. stock ECU, you probly could drive "normal" but as soon as u give it a gutful then into limp mode u go. the stock ECU will go nuts at anything over about 7psi. Im not so sure. Im pretty sure the fuel tables will have to be changed to match the extra flow rate of the new cooler, hence the boost control table will have to be adjusted as well. This is what I have ordered!

  13. Yeah, I know that mate. I just seem to keep seeing posts of guys that have just whacked on a new cooler! I didnt think you could do that at all without a retune. I just wasnt sure it was safe to just bolt one in. Or are all these guys, even running on stock ECU, running around overboosting all the time with really lean AFR's?
  14. Telling it as you think mate!!! A bit harsh, but I suppose he asked!

  16. Looks the goods guys! Just a question, Doesnt fitting a bigger cooler make the cars run REALLY lean with the extra air flow? I thought installing an intercooler and retuning the ecu had to be done at the same time?? Otherwise it overboosts, Runs lean and constantly runs into limp mode?
  17. Happy to hear your enjoying it buddy!
  18. Dyno Sheets?? What dyno sheets?? I didnt know we were supposed to get dyno sheets??? Hahaha! Na, how about this for holding the power mate?? Its just a rocket on the road! Time for some bigger brakes!!! All this with a tune that was sent from the other side of the country, fitted in and touched up right here in the ACT! Amazing stuff!

    235rwkw

Yeah, but you don't get a quality stainless steel exhaust, an awesome sounding Blow off valve, a custom air intake, you get a smaller intercooler and your car won't be street legal. Btw, 315rwkw in an auto is worth around 340 in a manual because of trans drive loss. You pay for what you get. here it goes again..... geese you know the edit is superior on this unichip stuff, DONT YOU GEESE........ *hmmmmm* haha! Im just waiting to see the 2006 product lines from APS!
  20. Good luck and best wishes on trying to get to this mate. Everyone will be interested on your results. I hope you have new rods and pistons as well as bearings and gaskets ready to go in mate, or you better get yourself a bucket to put the bits into. as for the exhaust, the dump and cat from these guys has had nothing but good reports. Dont know about reducing it to a 3 inch system though. If its big numbers your after, You may need more.
  21. Actually mate, im pretty sure he runs a Nizpro cooler, not the stock one in his Phoon!
  22. Yes mate, Its a normal feature that some tuners use to set up the wastegate solenoid. Mines been clicking for 10000 km, rest assured, its fine! No mate, it's not a normal feature. Mine didn't do it when the car was running the standard program, neither does it with the 10 or 15 psi tune. Sounds like something is wrong. I think you will find it was something set up with version 2 or 3 of Capa software. theres plenty of edited cars that click. in fact, Simons car has the latest SCT stuff in it and he still prefers to run it with a clicking solenoid. Depends on how the car has been set up.

  24. I think with the new edit parameters its possible to build a stall into the current ECU??
  25. If the dealers want in on this, I'd suggest they get their butts to the CAPA conference next week!
