  1. Nice! exactly what I have ordered. I spoke to Davies Craig today, and the Tech guy a talked to suggested rather than using the ecu wires to utilise the fan, just to buy the mechanical thermal switch (part no 0401) and attach it to the top radiator hose. It will reduce any problems that tampering with ecu wiring will involve. The switch can be adjusted to turn on the fan anywhere between 80 and 115 degrees. It will cost a little extra for the switch, but to me seems a safe, easy way to activate the fan. He also said the electric fan motor wont have any trouble handling reduced voltage should I wish on the other hand to use the ecu wiring to activate it. So your way should work too. Let me know how you go! Cheers for the pics too!
  2. Yeah, they have a good reputation, and for even a hunderd bucks, Its not a big $$$ item.
  3. Cheers mate, sounds like we are going down the same path the same way. Ill do it only if the factory wiring wont work.
  4. So are you saying you can buy a thermo activated switch to plumb into the hose line that will turn the fan???
  5. Check this thread- http://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/index.ph...topic=19147&hl= But now I will move it to under the guard like you already have
  6. So do you think as the existing thermos have an existing variable voltage setting, it will stuff up the Davies Craig fan motor if its wired in to the existing thermo fan line? It would be really easy if it was ok to run it with the existing fans. Or are you going to wire it separately?? If so how will you control its activation? Oh, and as for the cooler itself, its fitted into the existing piping with Dash 6 fittings and braided lines, so it will take up to 200psi!!!! Not that it will ever get that much pressure, but I dont like hose clamps much!
  7. They are the push on type of cooler, from what I have been told the cooler needs to have threaded pipe fittings, not just cut the trany cooer pipe and slip on 2 hose clamps due to pressures in the line. Rob Its all good, I already have the tranny cooler fitted. Its a PWR one. Im just looking for a thermo fan to fit to it when I move it from the front grille area? The little Davies Craig one looks the goods!
  8. Cheers. Maybe Im just stoopid
  9. Is there a model number in specific??
  10. Hi guys, Im relocating my tranny cooler in the drivers side wheel well under the battery due to the size of my intercooler upgrade. I want to mount it with a small thermo fan. I was hoping to draw power directly from the battery to it, but wire in a relay from the other radiator thermo fan wires so the new one will come on when ever the radiator fans activate from the ecu settings. Just wondering, What is the Best brand of thermofan to use, and where to get it from?? Im not worried about the cost, just the best one available. it needs to be small, about 200-250mm diameter? Has anyone done a similar setup? Any Suggestions???
  11. Awesome stuff mate, maybe you should order a new gearbox for your new engine project!
  12. Just a suggestion, Would the fact of Dingah using his unichip for an extended period of time in his car, possibly altered the self learning part of the pcm to the point of if it was to be extracted without its association to the unichip, then perhaps it would be corrupt? Is this theory of mine a possibility, or am I up too late and talking sh*te? If the entire setup has been reliant on the unichip for so long, surely it has affected the reaction of the pcm once the unichip is removed from the equasion?
  13. Awesome guys, Street tyres, what model Toyo's are they? How many $$$? I need some launching the uteris!
  14. Should be a greta replacement/ upgrade. Pity in one sence, I was thinking he would be our next big hope for the F1. Now its up to Ryan Briscoe!
  15. From my understanding Buggy, using a lower thermostat is not a necessity, but more of a preference from the tuner. DW prefers to use the standard thermostat, as do many others, but Xtreme use the cooler 160 degree thermostat and their tunes are adjusted accordingly. Different strokes for different folks I guess!
  16. Sorry to hear that Lolly. got my hyperflow one in the post today. They are Fcuken expensive but really are beautifully made. Bigger than I expected. Hope it works as good as it looks! Wog will get a good look at it next week!
  17. Im running 968 injectors, and a 16 psi edit, and 288rwkw out of an Xtreme tune and I get over 500 out of a tank!~ Yours is wrong buddy! you should be getting a heap more than that.
  18. I'll be in that, can you do an exchange system?? Like where someone pays you say $90 for the switches, plus $90 or so bond, you post the switches, then when we get them, put them in and send the stockers back to you, in which case we get our bond back once you get the stockers?
  19. Theres a few T owners on our car club that drive like the sit down to pee.....
  20. I'd be checking the plug gaps first, even to 0.80. If still persistant, then maybe the fuel pump dumping the fuel once it gets too much internal pressure. A new fuel pump is only about $350
  21. Its a $100, just get it fixed. Once you get the edit tuned you will forget all about it!
  22. Whats happened to the box, auto or manual, and how is it being fixed???
  23. I have a 160 degree thermostat, car never runs to half after flogging then turning it off. Operating temp is 1/4.
  24. Whats with the Hello Kitty crap anyway??? I thought they liked to EAT CATS!!! Have they gone all sensitive or something???
  25. Other pipe to check is the bottom pipe from the turbo. It has silver heat shielding on it. You will have to get under the car and change the spring clamp. Heaps of people that upgrades their clamps seem to forget this one as its a little harder to get too.
