Hey guys, Just a quick question regarding forged pistons. Since there are a fair few people running high power figures on here, just wondering how many are running forgies? We have recently had the engine rebuilt and had a set fitted, but now have noticed that it is quite noisey. We have been told it is the pistons and that it is quite normal. Does anyone elses car have this, and is there anything that can be done to quiet it down abit or should I just get used to it? Thanks, Jamie

Thanks Ashmo And yes it is the standard turbo which has been polished cheers Narelle

Looks like you are talking about me!!!!! Heres some of the pics of the various stages our engine bay has gone through, ending with what it was like when the last pics were taken in April , not sure how long it will remain like this as the car is getting more work doen as we speak, those unichip wires will be gone that's for sure!!!!. It s never ending and all for a few less tenths of a second and a few more kilowatts!!!! Thanks to HI-OCTANE PERFORMANCE and CLIMAX CUSTOM AIRBRUSHING, both in Nathan Drive Campbellfield!! Finally We Have Taken The Car Down The 1/4 Mile
XR-ENVI replied to XR-ENVI's topic in Drag and Circuit Racing
Thanks, The car is running 338.9 RWKW There is actually some thought of going to an edit as the unichip is probably running at its limit. We will probably get the auto sorted first and see how it goes, then take it from there -

alright for first time out but hoping for better -
We didnt think it would ever happen but friday night we finally got the car on the track. The back was lifted and is now sitting at 4WD status, the rear wheels went from 19" to 15" rims and we were ready to go We had a few problems boosting it and the tranny was playing up, so it will be off for an upgrade The first run of the night scored a 11.8 at 118mph and we we pretty stoked with that but with a MPH of that much hopefully when the tranny is sorted things will be better Narelle THANKS TO DAMIEN FROM ULTIMATE RACING DEVELOPMENTS FOR ALL HIS HELP, AND FOR SETTING UP AN AWESOME CAR. P.S there was a red XR6T ute their friday night pulling some good runs....anyone from here? Here are a couple of dodgy pics

no idea I am sorry, we had it done along with other mods and again when the lugs from the standard piping were ground off I would guess no more than $100-$150
-
we actually no longer have one
-
we got ours done in victoria by GTECH Performance, so I dont know if that is much help to you but pm me if you want more info Narelle

HI there we changed pipe set up which gave better airflow than the standard pipes and although there have been many reports to the contrary we found that once fitment was corredt the di-fillipo pipes did a great job. We have now ditched one of the cross over pipes and changed the airbox/battery position and this alone gave the car almost 30rwkw more

what do people use when there is no mains power available for the power pack?
-
Could I get some details on Where abouts in Campbellfield are they? , Hey there I see you were after details of GTECH performance they are at 1/39 Foden Ave campbellfield 9305 2888 they can definatley do some good work on the Xr6 Turbos
-
Nah not single, there is a man behind the car as well, Jamie has done all the boot set up and he gets to polish those rims all the time!!! We are both addicted to the thing which is in a way great but also bad sometimes.

Thanks tomas you can see with the previous post there have been a few internal and driveline mods done to handle the power of the car, and because we want the ca rto be be show and go alot of other mods such as custom airbrushing inside and out and stereo system have been done so its a never ending cycle. I am quite happy witht he power it has atm but there are a couple more things in the works which may not only give a little more power but will help mthe car to deal with the power more, I dotn think I will go too much further than those next few mods- besides the more it gets modded the less time I have it as its always at the workshop. The worst thing is always seeing the XITMNT car of GTECH's and getting more and more ideas but I doubt the car will ever get as full on as XITMNT, but damn that's a powerful and nice looking car, a credit to all!!! GO GTECH!!!!!!!!! Mitch's car is still in full street trim and is still driven on the streets, I cant wait to see what it does on the strip, its defiantely a weapon and with the experience of Mitch and Damien the owner of GTECH I am sure they will be able to put together a great set up for the strip. I am definately not going to try and keep up with his mods but GTECH have done a great job on my car which is now pulling 338.9rwkw with further mods to come such as even bigger injectors and it is still running a unichip. Damn good tuner in Damien there at GTECH, and always coming up with new ideas for both Mitch's and our car, A higly recommended tuning and upgrade business!!!! Narelle

Just got the car back again from GTECH with a few more Kilowatts added- pretty wrapped with 338.9 bbut why is it when you get it back you think..."I think we better get it up over 340rwkw" It is very addictive, so with the future addtion of even bigger injectors perhaps we can reach a higher figure, with the unichip, or perhaps do we go a lfash tune and see wha tit does, but I have been pretty happy with Damien at GTECH'S ability to do a very nice tune with the unichip Narelle
