Under the bonnet,on the ID label, engine code should have a letter " Y for DOHC VCT TURBO I6 " or " H for DOHC VCT I6 " My 2003 BA TURBO dont have those pictured vacuum hoses..
What it actually means is;The turbocharger boost pressure the engine ECU (PCM) is seeing is less than the minimum it was expecting. So the turbo is underboosting. So you better; Check the intake air system.Check the turbocharger mechanical condition and operation.Check for oil being drawn into the intake manifold. You could also have a sticky turbocharger actuator arm...Good luck and please let us know when / if sorted out..
One of the common problems.Replaced coil packs (VDO) and NGK Platinum plugs, idling in "D" slight vibration needle down to 550 with slight movement.other ways perfect.Broken mount would cause vibration but wouldnt lower idle speed. But im working on it,I think its got somethink to do with the heat.Yes when temp needle lines up with the first line of the temp. gauge idling drops (when stop for lights or )but once the needle moves away from the line towards the halfway mark idling normalises.Therefor I think its heat related.
I hope you'r not usıng 91..Well,the fuel consumptıon on these beasts not the best,we have 3 BA XR6T Auto's ın the famıly,they'r all around 16 to 18L/100klms.BTW They never been thrashed or beaten by a commohore and all up to date with servicing
You can use sılıcon over gasket, threads on the balancer are not reverse and need a special tool to pull it out.You can also use a bit of silicon on the O ring that goes on to the water pipe that goes in to the water pump,to do a good job better take the steering pump off.
