  1. Cheapest so far I have found after some ringing around is $135 each
  2. Yeah I agree not interested in second hand, but if the forum members know where I can get genuine ID 1000s for $120 each please let me know, as I want to buy them. Im not tyre kicking here...
  3. I have been quoted a supply only price of $165 each, and to be honest I haven't seen them much cheaper anywhere else on the net... Where can I get them for $120 each?...let me know and I will make the purchase.
  4. To be honest from what I have seen they are still around the 1K mark for a set of 6 ID1000s...
  5. Really...that's phenominal...that's like the average fuel usage of a Toyota Corolla...lol
  6. So the Dekas don't spray cleanely into either side of the devider, so you get uneven distribution of fuel coming through each inlet valve?... So the Injector Dynamics and KPM ones are better suited to the XR6T inlet port configuration?...as in the spray pattern is distributed more evenly on either side of the divider?
  7. Yeah you're right, why not get better fuel economy, especially if it's a daily driver...
  8. Thanks Ratter, your post was very insightful. I'm the first to admit that I don't know much about injectors, but I honestly didn't realise there was a such a science behind them... So by the varying "manners" between injectors you mean, idle quality, throttle response/part throttle response etc?
  9. Yeah I must admit I don't know much about injector brands, as I always thought most guys on the forum use Siemens or Bosch. Though regarding KPM and Injector Dynamics, I noticed a bit of a debate on the Ford Forums between KPM and Herrord, discussing wether they are similar, or just as good as each other...
  10. Just looking at some injectors, and came across this brand, they are quite expensive and was wondering what extra benefits they would have over the Bosch or Siemens... Apparently the injector dynamics website mentions something about idle quality and better tuning capabilities... Is there any truth to thrse claims to justify the cost?
  11. Have you managed to solve your issue?...I copped something similar last night...dash lights lighting up and speedo dropping out...
  12. Guys, I just changed my ctalytic converter, from stock, to a high flow one, I will let you know if this has any effect on the pinging. The reason I suspect it's my cat is because the car was barely making 4PSI of boost and was pinging stock. (actuator was ok, and there was no boost leaks) Since the car was custom tuned prior to the cat, should I be getting the tune looked at again now that the new cat has gone in? Is there a chance the cat might cause a lean condition?
  13. I keep hearing alot of good things about Joe from CMS...
  14. I'm in NSW, any recomendations are welcome...
  15. Guys, If the AFRs are within normal range, then what else could be causing the pinging? The tuner said he did decarbonise the engine...so I am assuming he ran an upper engine cleaner through the car... I also asked if it could have been a possible exhasut restriction causing the problem, and was advised that there were no indicative signs of a restriction in the exhaust... Should I be looking at changing the plugs?... Not sure what else is left...assuming the ECU has been looked at...
  16. Yeah I agree that the car shouldn't have been tuned if it was already pinging, but I was told the pinging could be tuned out...obviosuly this isn't the case... I might take it to someone else, so they can look over it with a fresh set of eyes.
  17. Yeah it was stock and yes I agree tune was a band aid solution... Always run 98, either Ultimate or Optimax. Plugs are are genuine Ford...thinking if I should change them as a starting point to trying to diagnose the pinging... I agree stock car pinging is extreme, but haven't been able to get it diagnosed...I'm a quite baffled as to where to start looking...especially since tuner couldn't diagnose it on the dyno run...
  18. Guys, My stock BF XR6T was pinging, so I took car to a tuner to have it diagnosed on the dyno. Tuner looked at fuel etc...but ultimately couldn't find the cause of the pinging...(wasn't a lean issue according to tuner) So it was suggested that I custom tune it as this would give me more power and the tuner would also be able to knock some timing out at the points where the car was pinging. (not really solving the issue but working around it) Car runs much better now but when I give it a kick back it still pings... I'm at a loss as to what is causing the pinging...anyone have any suggestions on where to start looking? Assuming its not leaning out, and the boost sits on about 10psi...(custom tuned to this)... Could it be plugs?...restrictive cat?....I don't think many tuners are keen to spend the time to diagnose such a problem Any help or suggestions at all are appreciated...
  19. My stock FG XR6T (x chaser like yours) idles rough, especially on itinitial start up in the mornings...I think this is an inherent FG problem...though I would think a tune should fix the rough idle problem. My BF XR6T idles noticebaly much smotther since the tune... Though I would also look at leaking engine mounts if your idle is really rough...if they leak they wont absorb the vibrations from the engine...it will feel like a rough idle problem...
  20. I tried to pull off park assist on the SV6 VF I rented a few months ago...couldn't work it out...lol
  21. http://www.drive.com.au/motor-news/ford-to-double-falcon-xr8-production-20150320-1m3ihc.html Looks like there's decent demend for the XR8...Though a beefed up XR6T would be the go for me...
  22. Thanks for the advice Joe, the car has done nearly 240,000KMS, so that's why I assumed it might just be a wear and tear issue, but if your experience tells you that the connectors can come loose with age, then I guess I will get it checked out, to eliminate the obvious, and certainly the cheapest option... Out of curiosity if I did get the car custom tuned, would the tuner have mucked around with the Mechatronics setting too? I just assumed that a tuner would just play with the engine managment system...is it normal practice for the tuner to play around with the ZF, while custome tuning your car?
