Guys I agree...all I want is the My Ford Warranty... I have specifically asked for this and I keep getting all these other types of warranties thrown at me...they tell you its the same conditions as the factory warranty but its not... Its like there doesnt exist an extended warranty that is endorsed by Ford Motor Co...which will have exactly the same conditions as the 100,000km. On the surface all these warranties seem like the Ford one but when you read the fine print you notice all these conditions etc...which basically leave the warranty open to voiding your claim...they are not water tight warranties to the point where you will have piece of mind if you need to make a claim. You would pay and still feel insecure about them disallowing you a claim especially if its a big thing like gearbox or motor etc...(this is where you really want the warranty to come to the party...) So I am not even certain Ford Motor Co has an extended warranty...that's how confused and baffled I am at the moment...
-
Yeah I get the same vague answers wether im talking to someone from Ford Head Office or a dealer...this is why I am confused...
-
Yeah I have rung around a few Ford Dealers all quoting me different prices etc...I think they are quotuing me all sorts of extended warranties...all I want is the myford extended warranty that should be 3 years or 75,000kms...(well this is what im asking for when I ring up these dealers...but they are throwing all sorts of things at me...) Ford Head Office will not give you any details on extended warranties...they told me that the indivudual dealers deal with it...
-
Guys just want some opinions here.I asked my Ford Dealer what it costs to extend my warranty and he quoted me just over 2K for 3 years or 75,000kms. So my car will have warranty cover up to 175,000kms or 3 years...this is a Ford Factory Extended Warranty apparently. The dealer told me it covers everything as per normal 3 year 100,000kms warranty bar some interior trim items. What do you guys think?

Guys I got an email from Ford Australia stating the following... Thank you for your e-mail to Ford Motor Company of Australia Limited (Ford Australia). We do not recommend this fuel for any vehicle. We have not done any testing on E85, and recommend that only ULP fuel containing a maximum of 10% ethanol (E10) is used in our recent vehicles. We hope this helps you, and thank you for taking the time to contact Ford Australia. Kind regards,

Yeah that's fair enough though I got the wheel bearings changed not more than 10,000KMS ago...it tends to only shudder when going down a a long hill at highway speed...dont get me wrong they pull up real good...but there are instances when the shutter is quite evident...
-
Yeah got them done at the same time (Bandix Ultimates)...everything was done properly...as in cleaning the rotor with a non oil based cleanser to get grease off...made sure they sat snug on the hub etc...and...still I had shudder...I just assumed the DBA 4000s wouldnt be prone to brake shudder as much as standard brakes...The stopping power is quite firm etc...but braking down a hill at speed will tend to cause shudder...
-
I have had DBA 4000 slotted rotors and Bendix Ultimates on the front for about two weeks now and I am getting brake shudder when braking hard at HWY speeds...its quite annoying actually as I was quite concious of running everything in properly etc...and I still got the shudders...not sure what I should do now...
-
Guys I have had my DBA 4000s with Bendix Ultimate pads set up for around 2 weeks now...This morning I noticed brake shudder when I was braking quite hard on one of the M4 exits...has anyone else experienced this with the same set up? From whaty I know brake shudder will only get worse with time.... Any advise on what I should do?...(apparently the rotors are covered under warranty for 20,000kms if not used for race purposes...)

Can a standard XR6T use E85?
-
Quite possibly could be a blocked or collapsed catalytic convertor. A slowly desintigrating convertor will get progressively worse with time to the point where the car will have no power at all or wont even start...its like blocking your exhaust... your car will not start... This happened to me on my VL Comm Turbo years ago... Im not saying this is your problem im just saying maybe you should check this out also however unlikely it may be especially if the most obvious causes are not the problem...

Its an ex chaser... This car at Fowles Govt Auction in Sydney would fetch around 16-17k.

Guys I put these DBA 4000 Series slotted rotors (fronts) on yesterday allong with a pair of bendix ultimate pads...and I have run them in as suggested on this site...though when I looked at the rotors this morning I noticed a bronze copper glazing over the parts of the disc... Have any of you guys experienced this with the rotors...im not sure if this normal or if there is something defective in the set up... Any help on this matter wil be appreciated...

Race Brakes sells them for $470 a pair for the front rotors...(322mm for the BF)

That could be a tell tale sign of an ex chaser...usually its the driver side of the boot lid that's sits a bit higher...as this where they place the aerial...if you look at the hinge under the boot it looks like the nuts have been tampered with...I have noticed this with the majority of ex chasers... Late 06 BF Mark II xr6t with same kms you should get direct from Fowles Auctions in Sydney for aroud the 19K realistically speaking...maybe even less depending on the day... Actually you could probabaly get a mid 07 for that money...

Guys its a BF Series 2 XR6T...

Took my car into Ford for some warranty work...as I needed to get some bushes replaced...and I also mentioned to the service guy that im consistently sitting over 18L/100KM on fuel usage...no matter how easy I drive it...and I have always thought it might be a faulty O2 sensor etc...and he replied by saying that he cant muck around with certain settings on my computer because there is some type of program the cops have locked into the computer which they cant unlock...but this would be a cause of the increased fuel usgae he said...im fully aware of the myths regarding chasers and im the first to say they are standard bar slotted rotors and some other minor extras...but does this service guy know what hes talking about??? Or is he blowing me off...as the fuel usage does seem to be a bit excessive...any advice would be appreciated...

I can tell you from personal experience if you reload the standard program back in before taking it into Ford they will not be able to conclusively detect that you ever had a flash tune in there.

The cheapest BF Mark II Turbo you can get will be at Fowles Govt Auctions in Sydney.(Ex Chasers) As long as the body and interior are ok I would say about 1 in every 5 XR6Ts that go through are in reasonable nik... you will have no problem. The other 4 out of 5 will go dirt cheap... I have seen some go for like 17k...you should get a good one for under 20K. The reason why chasers have become a more attractive proposition is that they all still have warranty so effectively even if you buy one from auction with mechanical issues these will most likely be covered under normal warranty like and other Falcon under warranty... The later 07 ones have the premium sound option too... My advise is be patient you have to turn up the auction a couple of times and follow the bidding etc...as you might get one week where people are going berzerk trying to out bid each other then the next week harldy anyone is bidding on them...so persistence pays... I have seen dealers at the auctions buying them and have even competed with them while bidding...all they do is bid on them detail them and then throw them in the yard with a 6k mark up... I have physically kept records of rego numbers and auction price and then seen the same car at a Ford dealer with that sort of price difference.

Yeah I have had the engine warning light go on because the car was leaning out due to loose turbo bolts... The light has also come on once before because one of my 02 Ssensors was out also. You will find that with these cars no one really knows the nitty gritty of what goes on with them. I have had rough idle problems on my car for the last 3 months on cold start up...have gone back to the Ford service dept on numerous occasions and appart from cleaning my intake and reflashing my CPU...they dont do much more because the engine warning light doesnt go on to log a code. To this day they havent been able to diagnose the problem...I kept thinking it was TPS but they reckon the TPS issue was addressed on the BF model...so once again we have a mystery...

The Ex Chaser Typhoon whent for between 31-32K apparently...
