http://www.news.com.au/technology/innovation/motoring/ford-mustang-loses-its-police-stripes-after-overheating-within-minutes-of-a-simulated-pursuit/news-story/13e4b07005fa5bc3b3da6563d0a0fea3 There will be nothing that compares to the XR6T (for the same money)...we should've been exporting them to the US, rather than killing them off...every car maker is going smaller capacity turbo...a four litre turbo would have hit the spot for the US police departments...especially if you were talking about offering something of "sprint spec"... It feels very wrong when they are killing off the XR6T, and our police departments are having a very difficult time trying to find an adequate replacement...both from a performance and endurance point... That tells me the XR6T ticks allot allot more boxes than any other car on the world stage...otherwise the police wouldn't be going through such a hard time trying to find an equal replacement...

Guys, I have a problem with my air con on the FG which has progressively gotten worse... Sometimes when I start the car up it can take over 10 minutes before the air conditioning fan starts blowing air through the cabin... I can feel a faint cold draft coming out of the vents, so it looks like the compressor is working and producing cold air, but the problem is the internal blower doesn't actually engage to push the air through the cabin. As I'm driving along, all of a sudden the blower fan just turns on and everything is normal...Once the fan comes on it works normally until the next time I turn the ignition off, and then it's a touch and go situation where the air con will turn on normally or it will take another 10 minutes to kick in... I know a low voltage situation will turn the air con compressor off in an FG, but this problem relates to the internal blower fan engaging... You guys think the blower fan could be getting stuck?...or could it be some type of air con control module issue?

Ok so it looks like they will still keep producing the stock XR6T just for the police force...

http://www.drive.com.au/motor-news/nine-things-you-need-to-know-about-the-new-falcon-sprint-20160315-gnjzim.html I was quite sure the XR6T Sprint would have been quicker than the XR8 Sprint...and apparently it is...

Hmmm...that's the ZF box, the computer has disabled the box to protect itself. I'm stating the obvious, but you should start by getting the codes for the box read... If you download the Forscan program and couple that to an elm device you should be able to see the errors...and possibly reset them depending on the issue Otherswise a decent tranny place should be able to read the codes and repair accordingly...

I'm no mechanic but wouldn't a bent rod also cause low compression and rough idle?

It's disappointing and sad in a way, that these high powered sprint models are being released as the last of their kind...then what are we left with? I can't see a naturally aspirated Mustang 5.0 doing much for me... From the reviews I have seen...the stock 270KW XR6T gets better 0-100 times... From what I have been reading, the cops are going to have a hard time finding a vehicle that can match acceleration...the only cars available at a reasonable price are slower...there's certainly no quicker substitute within the price range... The only car I can think of is the Chrysler SRT...the Golf R might be the go but I cant see it holdingup to the relentless punishment of highway patrol use...

http://www.drive.com.au/motor-news/more-details-of-fastest-ever-falcon-revealed-20160221-gmzvpc.html It says in the article that Ford isn't going to produce stock XR6Ts and XR8s...so are they all going to be sprints from now on? Does this mean the cops are getting the Sprint?? "Ford has confirmed that it will only build 500 examples of the XR6 Turbo Sprint and 750 of the XR8 Sprint and will no longer produce the current XR6 Turbo and XR8 models."

Looks OK...but I still reckon the XR6T would be more rapid...especially down low...not sure on top end in stock form though...

That metallic blue colour looks OK, I have actually seen an unmarked chaser FGXT cruising the streets of Parramatta in that colour, and it looked surprisingly good…a bit subtle and understated but still aggressive looking… Not a fan of the stickers etc…I prefer clean looking cars…

That's not bad power...especially with the over boost function...

http://www.caradvice.com.au/414405/2016-ford-falcon-xr6-turbo-sprint-xr8-sprint-performance-upgrades-leaked/ 325KW for the XR6T Sprint...

http://www.carsguide.com.au/car-news/fg-x-ford-falcon-sprint-to-be-supercharged-and-turbocharged-38668 Not sure if someone has already posted the article up...apparently the XR6T Sprint is getting more than the 310KW but they will be capping the power to under 351KW for both Sprint models... I still reckon they should've went all out with these limited last run models...like the Yanks do with cars like the SRT Hellcat, and the Vette Z06... I know there's some old school limited edition Dodge and Buick cars that had ridiculously massive engines that pumped out massive power...and these cars have become legendary... If they did go all out on the last of the XR6Ts they would definitely achieve legendary status...

I had bought some glue that comes in a spray can, as I thought this might allow a more uniform, less clumpy adhesion, but haven't tried it yet as I'm not sure how to spray it in the cavities without it going everywhere... Yeah we had a VN V8 back in the day, same thing...but by the time the roof lining started disintegrating it was quite an old car, so thumb tacks was the go...lol I'm in Sydney...so not sure who does this type of stuff in Sydney...
-
Yeah, you're right it does look like the actual foam has degraded...for $250 it's worth just getting it replaced... Thanks for the advice guys...

Guys, The roof lining on the BF is starting to come apart where it joins the top of the front windscreen...Do I just super glue it back up?...or will it look bodgy?

Ford had my car for a week and they still couldn't figure out the rear end passenger knock...it's one of the mysteries of the universe...

Bidding started at $28,000, it sold for $29,750
-
Nah it's still there...maybe the link has expired, I might follow the bidding online as I have a Pickles account...if we had to put a guess on it prior to the auction...I am thinking the Sydney market is flooded with crazy people using the inflated equity in their properties to buy cars etc... The are also dealers that know they can flog it off for around the early 30 mark...as there are people that don't care about the kms...and will want to have the car at any cost... I'm thinking $29,500, I know its unlikely but people are nuts, if you ask me with 84,000kms on the clock it shouldn't go for more than 22K, but like I say... because there's allot of emotional buyers out there...the price will just escalate, but it's also the dealers that will push it up knowing they can flog it off for around the early 30 mark...chances are you will see it advertised by a dealer on car sales by tomorrow at $33,990..."One owner"...lol
