05 BA with about 118,000 km's and still going strong. Had new diff under warranty and few minor bits. Engine is fine. In past 12 months, replaced coils, cabin headlining, intake manifold gasket. Exhaust shields have been a nuisance like many others I hear! Still lotsa fun to drive and real glad I didn't buy a beige Camry, ha ha!

A Site Manager , a Car and a Mattress A Site Manager ran over an innerspring mattress on the highway, and decided not to worry -- and kept on driving. It caught on the undercarriage of the Ford. The ensuing jumble finally whipped around enough to tear a hole in the fuel tank. The subsequent lack of fuel is what finally brought the vehicle to its knees. She had managed to drive 30 miles, with a 60 pound tangle of stuff wrapped around the drive shaft. Site manager had it towed to a Ford dealership, and complained that the vehicle had a 'sort of a noise' when it was driving at high speeds. Attached are three photos of what they found at the Ford Dealership.................... The last photo is by far the best. "Sort of a noise" -- I'll bet it did!

I had a mate who was suicidal. He was really depressed, so I pushed him in front of a steam train. He was chuffed to bits. ================================================ A woman brings eight-year-old Johnny home and tells his mother that he was caught playing doctors and nurses with Mary, her eight-year old daughter. Johnny's mother says, "Let's not be too harsh on them.... they are bound to be curious about Sex at that age." "Curious about Sex?" replies Mary's mother. "He's taken her appendix out!" ================================================ I was reading in the paper today about this dwarf that got pick pocketed. How could anyone stoop so low?

Hey thanks guys for clearing this up and that the car is an XR6. With my failing eyesight I thought it was a Hyundai Getz with 17" mags. Ooh, shucks I better get off this guys case. At least he's a proud XR6 owner and can't criticise him for that

Car Surging Under Heavy Acceleration
hafadude replied to SilverSurfer200's topic in FPV PERFORMANCE INC.
Had this a while ago. It was as simple as changing the spark plugs for me. Problem solved. Sometimes the simple things work -
Hi, am in Cairns after joining this forum in NT a few years ago. More in Tsv than Cairns I think. Should catch up one day!

The Soldier and the Nun A soldier ran up to a nun. Out of breath he asked, 'Please, may I hide under your skirt. I'll explain later.' The nun agreed. A moment later two Military Police ran up and asked, Sister, have you seen a soldier?' The nun replied, 'He went that way.' After the MPs ran off, the soldier crawled out from under her skirt and said, 'I can't thank you enough Sister. You see, I don't want to go to Iraq ..' The nun said, 'I understand completely.' The soldier added, 'I hope I'm not rude, but you have a great pair of legs!' The nun replied, 'If you had looked a little higher, you would have seen a great pair of balls....I don't want to go to Iraq either.'

Hey, thanks tab. I'll try the car park thing. Sounds like a fun way to fix a problem. The cost is good too. Yeah, I think the squealing of the brakes is from the rear as far as I can tell. Maybe its that the parking brake was overtightened?

Had a few little probs for a while. One, the usual brake shudder when braking and that's common with Falcons and second, the handbrake needed adjusting. Decided to get them looked at. Well the brake shudder is gone after having the rotors machined and the handbrake is fine now. But now I have two other problems that weren't there before the service. The brakes squeak like crazy after they get warm and the squeak is there even if I'm not using the brakes. Second, the occasional vibration through the steering when moving at slow speeds like parking (again common prob with T's I hear), is there almost all the time now when turning a corner or doing a U-turn. The workshop said the only thing that they did apart from machining the discs and adjusting the handbrake was that they put my almost new tyres from the back to the front cos the fronts were worn a bit. They said the power steering needs a rebuild kit. Any clues on these?

A woman takes a lover home during the day while her husband is at work. Her 9-year old son comes home unexpectedly, sees them, and hides in the bedroom closet. Then the woman's husband also comes home. She puts her lover in the closet, not realising that the little boy is in there already. The little boy says, “Dark in here.” The man says, “Yes, it is.” Boy – “I have a golf ball.” Man – “That's nice.” Boy – “Want to buy it?” Man – “No, thanks.” Boy – “My dad's outside.” Man – “OK, how much?” Boy – “$250” A few weeks later, it happens again that the boy and the lover are in the closet together.. Boy – “Dark in here.” Man – “Yes, it is.” Boy – “I have sand wedge.” The lover, remembering the last time, asks the boy, “How much?” Boy – “$750” Man – “Sold.” A few days later, the boy’s father says to the boy, “Grab your sand wedge and golf ball, let's go outside and have some short game practice.” The boy says, “I can't, I sold my ball and sand wedge, dad.” The father says, “What?! How much did you sell them for?” Boy – “$1,000.” The father says, “That's terrible to overcharge your friends like that. That is far more than those two things cost. I'm going to take you to church and make you confess.” They go to the church and the father makes the little boy sit in the confession booth and he closes the door. The boy says, “Dark in here.” The priest says, “Don't start that with me again, you little sh*t. You're in my closet now!”

Incredible photos! Agree with Senna. So lucky we live in Australia where the worst thing we experience right now is too much Xmas pudding.

Some serious financial advice for Ford owners in the attached pic Financial_Planning.bmp

I was told by a local tuning shop that if I get my brakes done (skimming), the shudder will stop for a while but it WILL come back. At least they were honest about it. They did an excellent job on my car for a service so I respect their opinion. Two of the people who work there have XR6 T's.

Great race, teeeeerrific result! Bit tense towards the end when the pits seemed to be warning Lowndes that his fuel was getting low. So glad he wasn't left at the top of the mountain on the last lap with a conked out engine because we all know who was in second place! Whew, all worked out like magic though. Like your comment about the Brock trophy, phantomchic.

Some of the comments in a post I did earlier might help you out: Iphone 3g And Music Good luck with it!

G'day, This one will work but not sure how effective it will be. Some of the other posts seem to be saying that without the amplifier, you might not get enough volume or you will hear a lot of static or hissing. I don't know from personal experience though! This one on eBay has the amplifier built in but costs a lot more: http://cgi.ebay.com.au/FORD-BA-BF-TERRITOR...1QQcmdZViewItem If you do go for the cheaper one, it would be interesting to hear about your results. I got great sound with the one with the amp.

Yeah, the installation (only) was $40 and that was done by a car sound place. The Ford dealer quoted me over $100 for fitting (only). The Aux cable I bought was a genuine Ford part FO-BAF 289455 BA. There are 2 aux cables you can buy. One is just basically a couple of wires and a plug available as a genuine or non-genuine part for about $25-$30 or you can buy the one I got that has a built-in amplifier. The cost was $99.79 and from what I have read on other posts, this is the way to go. Worked for me! If you know what you're doing mucking around with wiring ( I don't ) the kit does come with full instructions so you can save the installation cost. Using this aux cable kit feeds the sound directly into the sound system so there is no static, good volume etc. Don't know if they are still listed but I did see the genuine kit with the built-in amplifier on Ebay for less than the dealer price but the seller said they would not fit a BA, only BF. That ain't true! I also have a Sony Bluetooth kit that the iPhone pairs to for a call. That works well too. But have a look at my earlier post about using the bluetooth set-up. Good luck with it!

G'day Dagabond, Yes I can actually run the call through the speakers no problem. I was just referring to what shows on the iPhone screen when a call comes in or you make a call. You can choose whether to pair with your bluetooth unit in the car (through the speakers) or your phone's internal speaker which you can't hear unless you put the phone against your ear. The phone sits in a car cradle. The first couple of calls I got they could hear me but I couldn't hear them because the phone was not paired with the bluetooth unit which gives the sound through the speakers. (is that explanation confusing?) I'm really happy it all works and now have it figured out. The iPhone owner's manual is almost non-existent so it took time to learn how it all works. Challenging when a person's not part of the iPod generation! One thing I can't understand is why the Griffin FM transmitter was sooooo bad but my CD stacker works really well and uses an FM transmitter too.

Thought I'd give you my experience hooking up the new iPhone 3G through the standard stereo on my BA. Wanted to play music through the car's speakers and also still be able to use the phone using Bluetooth which works fine (a Sony Erricson unit that's hardwired in). I bought a Griffin FM transmitter/charger that was supposed to be made for the iPhone for $140 and that was terrible. All you could hear was static, snap, crackle and pop. Mucked around for over an hour using every setting I could find. No luck but the retailer took it back and gave me a full refund. I read on this forum about the aux cable with the boost amplifier as a Ford part. I checked with the local dealer and they said it would only fit a BF according to the parts catalogue. I bought it anyway to try it out and the dealer said they were willing to take it back if it didn't work. (Geez another helpful retailer! Cairns IS treating me well.) A local car sound place fitted the part for only $40 on the spot (vs $105 at the dealer) but weren't sure if everything would work with the new iPhone. Very happy to report that all works well! Music quality is like a CD, no static and the bluetooth for phone calls works well. You still need to buy a separate car charger of course. One thing to look out for is the "audio source" when you make or answer a call. Make sure you select the bluetooth unit that that your phone pairs with otherwise it uses the phone's internal speaker and you can't hear a thing unless you pick up the phone. The boys in blue don't like that! It all sounds simple but it's taken about a week to sort all this out. Anyone else had good or bad results with an iPhone in their T?

Two Mexican detectives were investigating the murder of Juan Gonzalez. 'How was he killed?' asked one detective. 'With a golf gun,' the other detective replied 'A golf gun?! What is a golf gun?' 'I don't know. But it sure made a hole in Juan.'

Just a couple more points to think about mate. 1. If you sell the car to the financier, you can be up for capital gains tax if the selling price is in excess of it's value 2. At the end of a lease, yes, you can hand it back to the financier but there may be a clause that says you have to make up any shortfall when the financier sells it on Maybe just check with your accountant again on these. Good luck with it!

Hey MGR, Agree on what you said about the instruments. You'd expect them on a Hyundai Getz or even a Holden, ha! Rest of the car is very nice though

Hey, I was there too yesterday. The FG's look better in the metal than the photos. The interiors have a better feel to them although the blue-ringed speedo/tacho look a bit like a toy. You were lucky to get a test drive. Maybe I'll get a chance in the future. Meanwhile, back to the ol' T.............!! Has your club done a run to Cooktown? Went there the other day for the first time on the sealed road. Now that's fun in a T when you can open up a bit.
