  1. Superb pics, thanks very much for that Johnny.
  2. Johnny, so how does your system split into twin 2.25" - just via a typical 'Y' piece? On the BA's, doesn't the system split at/within the cat ie. 3" in, twin 2.25" out?
  3. There sure is mate, you'll sell 'em no worries. Dunno what they've gone for brand spankers, but do a little search and it might give you an idea. I see you've already been offered $2.5K, that's quite a tidy little sum to add to your mod budget (almost a Tein coilover kit!)!
  4. tab, not looking to start something mate, but the way I read the manual (or at least the piccie that Bain posted) was that you CAN use 91RON fuel? It said that, for all petrol vehicles, you should only use unleaded petrol (bolded, presumably to clarify that this is a 'definition') with a minimum octane rating of 91. Then it goes on to say that, for the XR6 Turbo only, premium unleaded petrol with a minimum octane rating of 95 is recommended (my emphasis) for maximum performance. And then the clincher (for me anyway), it says that the XR6T is also calibrated to run on unleaded petrol - I take this to mean that it CAN use 91RON fuel, even though it is not recommended. BTW, I only use 98RON, so this is a moot point for me anyway!!
  5. Pashen, I know this is stating the obvious, but your budget will obviously be a handy amount more than $8.5K if you decide to change your wheels - the F6 19" rims are a hot little item around here and I expect you'll get good money for them if you decided to sell.
  6. In jetute's absence I'll try and answer this - I'm pretty sure it's Exotic Exhausts in Sumner Park. I've rung 'em a couple of times and Ross is most helpful.
  7. There are also other options for factory replacements. I ended up putting in 6.5" splits in the front and 5" x 7" in the rear. I think splits will give you a better outcome. Both front and rear speakers are by Focal, excellent quality. Front splits I had to go for the 'slim' Focal splits (165VSlim from memory) to ensure fitment without interfering with the power window mechanism. Rears were no problem, obviously. I also wanted something a little larger than an 8" sub but also didn't want my boot space taken up by a whopping great big box. So I ended up with a 10" Focal sub fitted into a very small box that fits underneath where the old sub used to be (facotry sub has been removed), so hardly any boot space sacrificed. Bass response is obviously way better than stock but not astounding by any measure.
  8. Ouch, nasty. When you started the thread by saying you had 290rwkw "with more to come", I assume the "more to come" arrived and the stock internals didn't think too much of it? Oh well, good excuse for a nice new Atomic bottom end!
  9. Thanks for all the info, and look at what I found... Filter installation instructions
  10. Fantastic stuff, thanks mate!! Does Repco stock these as a matter of course or are they a special order item?
  11. Care to elaborate, Dags?
  12. Makes you wonder why, if he went to all the expense of either custom making or customising an existing XR8 bonnet to fit an XT, he didn't just change the entire front bar for an XR one anyway?! He must really like the XT front end.
  13. Well, yeah, if someone was OFFERING one to me I know which I'd take too. But if I were paying, I think I'd take the F6, mod it to the max, and have, oh, about $200K left in my pocket!!!
  14. The pollen filter goers in the glove box?! Well, I'll be damned. Could someone please explain exactly where (I'll have a look tonight when I get home)? And you reckon this carbon activated filter is better than the pollen one from Ford? By a long shot? Might have to look into this as my wife is forever complaining about exhaust fumes, and we don't even have a pollen filter.
  15. Perspective!Lumpy ←
  16. Between what father and son have spent on their Beemers, you could have a pretty decent house!!
  17. Too much hassle. I'd take your T first...
  18. If ya gotta ask, ya can't afford it!! Don't worry mate, we're both in the same boat...
  19. Jeez-us, that's seriously impressive for a stocker. Be nice to have the sort of $$ to be able to afford one without remortgaging the house!!
  20. Tab, I think a few people have (incorrectly) debated this...
  21. Sorry mate, my post was a little unclear. My $500-600 guestimate was for springs AND front sway bar, fitted. Lower/stiffer springs can be had for around the $200 mark, fitting would be about the same again, and a front sway bar is indeed only about $130 (and you can fit yourself). Hope that clears it up.
  22. F6 Ute's advice is all good. If you're keen to sharpen up the ride you can do anything from: - getting stiffer springs and front (and rear, although not all think this is a good idea on these cars) swaybars - this is a very cheap (around the $500-600 mark, installed) but relatively effective option; - getting yourself a set of Bilstein or Koni shockies - getting more expensive now (hmm, around $2K installed?), but the gains are apparently very worthwhile; and/or - going the whole hog and getting a set of Tein coilovers (think the cost is around the $2.5K mark for the hardware, not sure what fitting would cost). I don't think you'd call the handling soft after that sort of treatment!
  23. Good stuff Jimmy, glad to hear it mate.
  24. Good news Marcus, glad it worked out well in the end mate.
  25. I wish you luck waiting 2 years and 9 months before you mod, especially as you seem to frequent this forum quite a lot. I'll give ya 6 months tops.
