Ovaboost had a couple of cars at Motorvations this year and they certainly did a nice burnout! If Mick was the brains at Formaz, then he would be quite familiar with APS gear

Overall I thought Motorvations was a big dissapointment. I only went on sunday but to me there was too many cars that I was disinterested in (4cyl) and not enough serious machines. I was surprised I didnt see a single F6 aswell. I hung around the dyno for a little, to see a Sylvia and a Cortina do a few runs (ZZZzzzZZ) I went into the Elite Pavilion standing around gawking at the Orange GTO Pro Street there. Then I notice the owner and his family start removing the railing, pumping up the suspension and shutting down the stereo. You beauty!! But along comes My Motorvations Official "No Way" So back goes the railing and down goes the suspension. What a real dissapointment. The rare occasion a feature car wants to go for a cruise and they wouldn't allow it. Everytime someone made their tyres make the hintest squeel, over would rush the security. On a +ve note, the burnout final was fantastic. Dissapointing about the blown Mercedes but the finallist were some of the best burnouts Ive seen (except the single spinner cortina hehe) Maybe my standards are too high by going to summernats a few years ago, but I wont be going back for a while.

If you're after an edit with the generic tune, then get a CAPA edit. I had a Herrod Stealth for my F6. I returned it 5 weeks later and got a full refund.

Well, Im in the frame of thinking that the effects of bad oil will not develop after several years. If something goes wrong with the engine after several years, the repair bill wont be coming out of Fords pocket. I've always thought good oil now is a better engine for the future.

How did you find the feel of the shift after putting in the Transmax Z? My T56 has a very direct feel - I always know where I am in the gate which I like. However it's not the smoothest shift. Does the Transmax Z 'loosen' up the gearbox or does it exclusively make the shifts smoother?

No neither was I, so I grabbed one that was identical to what I pulled off. Filled it up with Penrite Syn 5 and the ute starts, idles and runs beautifully now. The fact that Ford is happy to wait until the 15,000km service to replace the oil is criminal.

Interesting. I ended up grabbing an Motorcraft FL820S from Ford and the guy there seemed to believe they'll be phasing them out and using something that is indeed standard across the range. He showed me another filter that physically looked identical, but the internals were certainly different. Perhaps that was the BF standard filter.

Venom XR6 are you saying the standard BF filter is the same as my BA Tornado?

Nope the F6's have an oil cooler, and as such the filter is alot shorter and quite different. The Ryco equivalent to the FL820S is the Z516

Anyone have a spare new Motorcraft Oil Filter for an F6/GT/XR8 laying around that they dont want that I could pick up tomorrow (sunday)? I'm in Perth. Coventries the idiots sold me the wrong filter so Im left with $120 worth of new synthetic oil in bottles, 8L of used oil in an oil pan and an F6 Tornado on blocks going no-where. To be running by tomorrow my only option is to fit a non-Ford Ryco filter from Repco (Unless some-one else is open tomorrow who sell Motorcraft?) Part F1AZ 6731 BD Motorcraft Part FL820S I'm pretty sure these are the same filters as used in GT's and XR8's. Coventries
