  1. Has been a while since we were working with the XR6T engine, but from what I can remember there were some wee filters built into the VCT controls area? Cant remember if they were in the vavles or the head, but there was no mention of them in any service manual at ford, just like the one inside the banjo bolt that feeds oil to the turbo, no mention of that anywhere either.
  2. We are using the motec as it is going into a purpose built race car that is not a falcon, so we have no falcon loom sensors etc etc. This is actually an old post now. We have had it running and it is running a hollenger sequential gearbox. We have had a series of engine failures due to different things, and so we have not have as much boost into it as we had hoped. Our best so far was 360 kw at the rear wheels on a rolling road dyno with about 13psi boost. Martman
  3. We are building an XR6 Turbo engine for our new project car. Previously we have only been using the toyota 2JZGTE supra engine's so I am unsure of what to expect from this engine. So far we have High Flow injectors, a/market pistons, conrods, and valve springs. We are getting the valves multi-angled and a small amount of cleaning in the ports. We will run the system with a Motec M600 ECU. We will probably run around 15 to 18 pounds off boost depending on how things go. What sort of power output do you think we will get with this sort of setup? Previously we were just under 500hp with the standard 2JZ engine with a/market turbo's running 20psi boost. We are hoping that we will get more but really not too sure.?? Matt
  4. Interesting. Does anyone have any more info on this? How would the water flow when the car is stopped as the water pump will not be turning? Do they have an electric pump? Matt

    How do you control the electronic throttle when the engine is not in a falcon, we do not run the falcon ECU and do not use the ford wiring? By doing away with it there are so many more options of ECU available

    Any updates on this yet? We are looking for an ECU to run the XR6 Turbo motor we have transplanted into our circuit car. We want to run the cam control, but will do away with the throttle and probably make our own inlet manifold with a conventional cable controlld throttle? Martman
