  1. Thanks mate, I've already done that. Car is in good nick. My question is what to do keep it in good shape. If you ask mechanics, they will tell you everything to rip you off. I just wanted to get good honest info.
  2. Hey all you experts out there! My T (BA MKII, Auto 4 spd)is over 3 years old, so out of factory waranty and had only 40 K on it. Since out of waranty, I don't have to go back to dealer for servicing (Thank God) What sort of servicing should I do now on ? What to check and how often? As far as mods go, it has APS Phase I only. Thanks

    Ford Vs Hoden

Hey Guys, Go to the below link and watch F6 against R8 , it is good fun UFO http://www.drive.com.au/?s_rid=WS:smh:top
  4. Thanks for all replies guys, I don't think it is a drive line I.e. shaft, issue because it is the streeing wheel that is vibrating not the whole car. if it was a buckled rim, tyre shop that did the balance would have noticed it, I.e. it wouldn't balance. Only remaining thing is the bearings, may be one of them is faulty or whatever or abother inherent problem of our lovely XRT s
  5. It is a sedan and has not been lowered, no mods to the drive line. what the heck is awol ?
  6. I got a 2004 BA MKII XR6T with 18" factory wheels. Entire car is in excellent condition, no accidents, only 37000 Kms and new tyres (only 4000km witht the new tyres). It developed a vibration on the steering wheel. thinking may be one of the weights fell off from the rims took it back and got front wheels balanced. It still is there. When I took it back to the allignment shop, all they could do was scratch their heads. Vibration comes in around 75-80 Kms/hour, it is more pronounced between 80-90 kms/hour. Eventhough it is still there, it is not that much at freeway speeds (110-120 kms/hour) One other weird thing, when you doing 110-120 kms/hour on cruise control, meaning no change in speed, vibrations come and go. Has anybody experienced anything like this or any idea what could be wrong ?

    Heya.

Hi, I might be able to help you save some money. I own a 2004 (November) MKII XR6T- Automatic (4sp) The color is lightning strike and its got all the bells and wisthles you want. First of all it has complete luxury pack interior, meaning full leather interior with sports seats, premium 150 watts stereo with subwoofer, dual climate control A/C. Also has color meatching (red) momo steering wheel and gear shift, 18 inch factory alloys with full size spare, premium FPV brakes, tinted glasses, original XR6 carpet mats and mud flaps, original Ford tow pack. It cost me $ 60,400 on road in December 2004. It's got only 29400 KMs, no modifications, it is in show room condition . It used to be a leased car when I was working for a company but now I run my own local small business and need the cash. You mentioned you checked out the market place so you should have an idea about the prices. Let me know if you are interested, I can post some pictures or even better you can check out the car yourself. Cheers UFO
  8. you say you have had align done many times and is ok,but they are trying to sell you a camber kit??? have you tried front to backing wheels and tyres??? :holiday: ← Mate, yes the trie shave rotated. The problem is always there even after numerious wheel allignments. Somebody recommended this Pedders shop, so I gave them a call. As soon as I described the problem. They said it is a common problem with 80 % of Fords and a camber/toe kit needs to be installed to fix it properly.
  9. I have a MII BA XR6T with premium brakes. Even though, allingment is done and checked many times, it pulls left or right strongly when stopping. It seems to do the same thing without brakes being applied if there is any irregiularity on the road surface. Tyres and brake pads are in good condition. As usual, the dealer service department denies anything being wrong. One suspension shop (Pedders) says it is a common problem with % 80 of all Fords. A special chamber/toe kit which costs around $ 500 needs to be fitted to the front end and then alligned to fix the problem. Does anyone know or heard anything about this ? UFO
  10. hey guys, Has anyone looked into the idea. Would Ford supply the new 6 speed auto transmission on demand / What would be the coast of installing it in a MKII Auto XR6T ?
  11. Hey Dee, Before you waste your money with dealers, take a look at below link, you won't find a deal like this. http://www.carsales.com.au/pls/carsales/...rch_distance=25 Ufo
  12. Thanks ZapXR6T, Let us know how you do with Bendix pads, If it resolves the issue, I'll get them too. What I wonder is that if GT owners have the same problem, cause these so called premium brakes are the standard ones on FPV GT only the color and the log being different. It is black with Ford logo if it comes with XR6 & 8 as premium brakes and it is blue with FPV logo on GT.
  13. My MKII T is at 13K, took it back to dealer 5 times for squeaking front breaks (Premium Breaks) They said thay fixed it every time and it still squeaks like hell. I suppose this is what you get from Ford for paying $ 3000 to get Premium brakes.
  14. Hey Guys, Where the hell do you find 0 280 155 968 Bosch Injectors, I called almost every single Bosch Re-seller. None knows it . Only one said it was original German Bosh number !?!? So, the question is again, where do you get them (in Sydney)

    New 6 Speed Auto

Hey turbo6man, I am not trying to fool anybody, I am just forwarding what I received from Ford. Your reply is bit in contradiction to the mateship I have observed on this site from XR6T owners. I am very enthusiastic about the idea of the new 6 speed auto in XR6 and/or Typhoon becasue I am so sick of the existing Auto and its problems even though I had the car only for 4 months and made no mods yet. If they bring out the 6 speed auto today, I would trade my XR6T in whatever the loss is and get the new one.

  18. I have the same isuue (problem ?!?!?) and have been arguing with the dealer, They think it is the luck-up tork converter kicking at 3rd even in manual mode. I don't think so. Going back to dealer one more time.
