  1. Disagree. But if someone can quote the legislation? I signed the Secrecy of Communications Act donkey's years ago. There have been changes, but unless I've fallen behind they cannot record your call. BTW - even if they SAY they are, they aren't. And even if they WERE they could never use it in court......... ......which brings us back to that member (sorry, forgot the name) who correctly said "get a solicitor to write to them". Sounds like a big deal and expensive = is very easy and not expensive. Do it, take the bullS*IT by the horns.
  2. The best post. You are correct. This won't cost a lot and will immediately make them suspect, or realise they are in for a fight that they will not win. Just reading this thread makes me angry. Time for
  3. Faaark. Yeah, that leather scr*tum thing hanging at the end of the shifter. I managed to get a leather handbrake, but, I'm a broken man now. Time to trade up.

    Tyres Again

Going by Yokos web page, the "A.drive R1" look to be the entry level sports tyre. Would that be what he was talking about? If it is, sounds like a great buy. http://www.yokohama.com.au/tyre.asp.htm Cheers That's the one! Less 'premium' than some of the high end ones but apparently a good performer...I suppose for the price, if not my style, I can always go drift car for a day.

The splitting issues with SP3000A are well known in the industry, except by the outlets that sell them. I have a feeling no one will know the Yokohama tyres to which I refer.......

    Tyres Again

Well 15,000km has seen the end of the Dunlop SP3000A 235/45/17's. Rears are down to the markers and fronts almost. I sell software to tyre retailers and others in that industry and can pretty much get what I want at cost or close. One of my contacts in the main group associated with Yokohama retailing is trying to convince me to get a set of AR01 tyres as the owner uses on his XR8. Well under $200 tyre incl GST for me. I've searched the forum and can't find a thing on this tyre. Lot's of top references for the top Advan V103, the lesser AVS V102, and even heaps of good comments on the A539 which should be less 'sport' oriented than the tyre I'm looking at. ANYONE USED OR HEARD OF THESE TYRES????
  7. What a load of What is flogged anyway? I'm sure it is relative to each driver and doesn't mean deliberate and malicious abuse - there is a difference. I 'flog' my car all the time I.e. use it's full performance capability. When I read other threads on this forum like that one about the guy in NT who has had 5 turbos (or something like that) replaced under warranty after extended 180kmh+ driving......isn't that really flogging the out of it? Well apparently I may consider that flogging the car to hell, but it's just using the performance capability, so all under warranty. Just look at Fords press releases, website, brochures: "high-tech performance to quicken your pulse"; "the ultimate performance package"; and so on...... They are selling a car designed to be FLOGGED! EDIT: Me? If my gearbox lets go, I accept the fact that my car is now modified so my problem.
  8. I got the leather one as a warranty job at the 3K 'service' as that's all they had. Handbrake assembly has come adrift. Same thing has happened again and hoped they could do a quick fix when I went to get the bonnet catch release that was boken fixed (another common fault - 2 hour job). All I know is that I was told and my $0 warranty receipt mentions handbrake assembly repair to be done next visit $0 - but requires drivers seat removal to do it - so Ford reckon its a time consuming job......probably not though.... They can't take my leather away though!
  9. Here you go: Turbo small size (from pair of replacement rear badges which are combined XR6 & Turbo stick on badges), cut off turbo, stick under large size XR6 badge on side skirt.
  10. Never reached 1/2 way under any conditions.....yet.
  11. Hope it's gone well?

    Car Covers

Thanks for the info. Now.....counting this...how many times has Aunger been mentioned.

    Car Covers

That's "Aunger" twice. What, just from a Super Cheap or whatever? I'll do some hunting in any case. Still $$ count and I guess I'll find out....still interested even in a guess of what someone paid 3 years back - so when hunting if I'm told $1,500 I know good or bad!
  15. Ha Ha! I remember speaking to this guy at the summernats about his car. I asked "what injectors are you running in that thing? They dont look stock?" He replied-" Dunno, probably bigger ones. Its painted the same colour as Lamborghini's though!" I asked- "Is the 8 throttle body setup developed by Harrops? The same manufacturers as the Expensive Daewoo ones? A friend of mine was sent these throttle body's to test and said the results weren't that great' He replied-" Not sure, but its got an orange pearl thru the black paint on the bonnet" 'Who built the cams?" I asked 'Dunno, but its a big one. Did I tell you the orange is the same as a lamborghini?" Then I walked away slapping the forehead Lol - go into the Autotech forums and ask the man himself. You might get a better answer. He (and therefore I assume Spiro for confidentiality reasons) seems to keep much a bit 'secret'. f*ck knows why - drives me nuts too! But, like I said, you may get more there. I hear rwkw are insane by anyone's standards.....but like everything trying to get an exact figure is like pulling teeth. Funny, as on that forum all else about every other bloody car is revealed in full!

    Car Covers

Where did you buy them? What sort of $ value are we talking?

    Car Covers

Car is parked in the street (inadequate clearance for driveway...and wife gets in the way in any case). Too many car washes - heaps of trees, dust, birds. Anyone purchased or seen about (obviously I know they exist)? If so, did you purchase some custom fabric combination, where did you get it, how much and any other info really appreciated! Sydney area.
  18. Yeah, seen it going and heard about it GOING! I suppose that's why someone was saying something about it not going: Always at Autotech getting more done! Why not if you have the $. Have to get that Street Machine Fords and take a look-see.
  19. Looks like a common problem. My MKII is around 9 months from purchase and on Tuesday the plastic clip you pull down just shattered. Tried to book in for a quick warranty repair and got the "2 hours and whole new cable assembly" story. Pissweak design and construction.
  20. Anyone got a link or more pictures of this car? Go here: http://www.autotechengineering.com.au/photo.php Then click on the AME Motor EXPO link, then there is three pages of photos, a lot of this car. Some in the Autotech Cars link as well.
  21. Had two stock (well I assume so) XR6T try me, one from a series of red lights (great luck all those lights in a row), another on a highway. After a while you forget just how much the mods do, the stocker from the lights was with me for about 10 metres (no stalling up), then it was a joke. It was like....well sort of like draging a cheap 4 cyl car with a standard T - the difference was that amazing. After a few of these the stock T guy and I pulled over and chatted about what I had done. Nice bloke, but he was equally blown away with just how 'slow' his T was! Methinks he would have laid out some hard earned by now. The highway guy, that was even funnier. Going from 110 to jail he was an ant in the rearview! Funny - had a go with an N/A XR6 (last body shape) and he was slower but much better than a stock T - I complimented him - lots of respect for that! I imagine draging a 9 sec T in my taxi would be much, much more embarrasing than those stories!
  22. 100% normal. Scared the sh*t out of me when I first noticed it in 3rd, thought the box was shot. I had 'sort of' noticed it when I first got the car...thought it was my imagination. Then PHASE II (with shiftkit) shortly after purchase: Then it was much more noticeable I.e. can feel it all the time in third and occasionaly in fourth. It seems to me that either the shift kit &/or the extra torque makes the locking/unlocking much more noticeable. It is most noticable, I find, in certain locations I drive regularly so speed, throttle position, incline of road, etcetera, effect the feel. You can imagine with more rwkw I was then certain the box was on the way out. Well that was done June 30 last year and still going strong and I drive HARD all the time. As I found shortly thereafter it was just the locking converter in 3/4. Look at it this way, you don't need the new 6 speed box 'cause you already have one! 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 3rd+1/2, 4th, 4th+1/2.

    Busted Foggy

Good possibility mate! I guess (thinking on this though) that the plasticised coating may assist.........
  24. Power

    Busted Foggy

Stone or not, the plasticised material covering sounds like THE solution to me. It sounds like it may well stop the cracking due to spoiler flexing etc as well. Bugger using covers, I'm taking the plastic coating advice!
