Hi there. I have a 2005 ba xr6t and have an issue with the car heating up fast when towing up hill. The car is modified, and used to behave fine, just changed recently. I have changed the thermostat I tried turning ac on and fan to full and only the passengers side engine fan is turning on. Should the drivers side fan be turning on with the other, or is it heat related and only turn on when much hotter?

Which is why most people liked the Group A and C! We used to get the Group As etc in NZ too - and that was awesome, much better than V8SC.

You would be better off getting the motor out and storing it inside in a clean dry area, block any intakes etc off and then once a month turning the motor over by hand. You could then strip and sell off the rest of the damaged car which will be worth something.

I have BF GT 19s on my BA MK2 XR6 Turbo - car has ssl rear and sl front springs. We needed to fold the rear lip up to clear the rear end. after doing that the car never touches (though it is close)

The main thing is it will be a fantastic motor to put into my Mk1 Escort!

So.... Is it better to: 1. have a catch can with a breather - and in this case you take the PCV outlet and pipe to the can and block the outlet to the plenum. 2. have a sealed catch can and send the outlet back to the plenum? On Ebay etc there seems to be the two types - vent and non vent. In New Zealand it isnt illegal to have external vents, so... which am I better off with?

Well... Queenstown and the rest of New Zealand are two different things. Queenstown is a tourist town, full of Asian and American tourists. This means that accomodation, activities etc are all more expensive than the rest of the country, and it can be hard to get bookings when you want them. As far as what to do around that part of the country... most of the the things to do are around the scenery - so there are the moeraki boulders (north of Christchurch) - huge bolders that look like eggs on the beach - scenery all around Queenstown is fantastic - If you feel like a decent drive, head up the west coast - very pretty, including pancake rocks, gold rush attractions etc - In Queenstown - take a ride on the Shotover Jet Boats, Bungy Jump, Luge - they are all great - skiing of course - ride on the steamer in Queenstown - trip to Fjordland for the day (or two) - and ride on the boat through the beautiful sounds there Lovely place, but do try and get out of Queenstown and around a bit - the scenery in the South Island of New Zealand would be among the best in the World.

The ad is a few years old now. They destroyed 4 or 5 cars to make that ad apparently. All the badges are removed, and when Ford tried to have the ad banned in court they lost. The landmines were a bit odd, why they just didnt show someone driving too fast and skidding is beyond me.

If you click on the sellers ID name you go to a weird website starting with http://edebparresia.org/ that has pictures of his feedback etc - seems very odd to me....

Rubbish - the concept of the Lotus was reasonable price, light weight and decent mechanicals to outperform heavier more powerful cars. They were never expensive like that. There are many kits that are good quality and will be as good as the Caterham for much less.

I think once that it is painted it will look pretty good. Would be interesting to see it all finished next to a real FG, and a BF F6 front to compare the looks. Remember a lot of the VS commies look sh*t cause the bodykits are all bent and badly done, not just because they are a copy.

I dont agree with Fibreglass not maintaining a good finish. I have seen many good Cobra replicas, Corvettes etc with fantastic paint that has lasted well. It is all on how well it is made, sealed and finished. You could make a cardboard bodykit look good until it got bent or stonechipped. You need a really good spraypainter to make it look good, and that goes for plastic, steel or fibreglass. However... fibreglass does seem to stonechip easier than steel or plastic. But... you could paint it every 3 years and I am sure the difference would be minimal. I would prefer F6 plastics - and dont care that my car started as an XR - it is what I would like. But.. unless you can get a good deal - they are just too expensive to make it worthwhile.

Leave the poor guy alone - no harm in putting some lights in. There are sometimes some light bulb sockets under the dash (1 near the glovebox) one near the fuse panel. You could rob the power for these and run your neons. That way you can turn them on and off with the light switch on the dash.

It would be interesting to compare our cars Wolf. I have standard shocks but King Springs, lowered, as well as Whiteline Swaybars. I also have GTP 19s with Goodyear F1s, so.... a different approach to yours. Bushes are standard at this stage (where do you get yours?) I am in Upper Hutt too... at the foot of the Rimutakas, so... a drive can be arranged sometime! (though am away this weekend). PS - I have some AP 6 pots to install on my car soon - imported second hand from Aus, there are some good deals to be found if you look around.
