So it runs cooler when cruising? You want good economy when cruising so I would think standard is better. Bumper to bumper the coolant temp is same as standard and when boosting hard it is same as standard. Sounds pointless without a thermo fan setting change. Almost pointless all together. In saying that I am no tuner, and I don't see the difference on a lap top. Thoughts?

Sounds like your thermostat is working well mate. My FG turbo sits on half on the temp gauge aswell. Do your fans cycle in and out? If they do then the switch is working. If they don't, then check the resistance across the switch. If it changes as the car gets warmer then you can assume that the switch is working. Also Check the fan relay by checking you don't have continuity across the 87 to 30 terminal. For your thermostat, pull it out and put it in a pot on the stove with a thermometer and check that it starts to open around the 65deg Celsius mark and I think it should be fully open at 80deg Celsius. Or a simple check is to buy yourself a $60 infra red thermometer and check the temperature of the thermostat housing. If its about 75deg C when the fans come on then there is no problem.

Mine logged no faults. If the engine light doesn't come on then I doubt yours has logged one either. :(

Just got one off CMS mate. $1580 -
I had to remove the plugs out of the ecu to find the clip damaged... It all looked sweet when I visually had a look.

I had the same problem in my girl friends xr6. I was also told battery and alternator and earth cables etc etc. had the dealer look at it and they couldn't find it ether. It ended up being the plugs under the ecu in the engine bay. The clips had not clipped in properly. Put some electrical grease in the plug before replacing installing then again and that'll stop corrosion in the future.

Simon at xft is running a 9. Something quarter mile in a pretty stock f6 with a gtx3582r. I was thinking gtx4202r myself but have been told the gtx3582r is mint and very punchy of the mark with a little stally. -
Good afternoon. I am looking at buying a trutrac for the G6E but I think the axles are smaller then the xrturbos. Are my axles going to handle 500rwkw? Does anyone have any experience?

I should be able to get a gtx3582r for $1750. I think that is pretty cheap, if I do get it for that price then I would be happy to pass it on to all donating members for the same.

Any Gain From Air Box Mods ?

In my experience. You can do all bolt on mods and tune a car to increase power. It will not void your warranty. The dealer MUST prove your modifications are the cause. I have tuned cars in the past and when customers have told me I have voided there warranty I have taken the car to the dealers and told them what I have told you. Needless to say, the dealer has always fixed it. "This has included a melted piston in a 2010 diesel hilux" That is law and I will do my best to dig up the paperwork for you. -
If I didn't mind the extra lag. Do you think putting a gtx4202r on an engine to make 500kw just for the cooler intake charge would be worth it. I could be making more power on less boost and there would be less heat in the engine bay due to the turbo not being pushed as hard. I am running a 1000hp nizpro cooler. Or do you think it would be negligible and my money would be better spent on a nice efficient turbo manifold.

Thanks for the reply's. I guess the 35 will take an engine to 550kw and I own a G6ET so there is a lot to be done to make a kinda reliable 400kw. If I am still hungry at those power figures. Then I will upgrade again. Thanks again for your input.

I am keen to by a gtx3582 or a gtx4202. Does anyone have any experience on how much lag there would be in an auto?
