  1. MANY EXTRA MODELS ARE NOW ABLE TO BE FLASH TUNED /EDITED INCLUDING THE AU FALCON RANGE AS WELL AS THE TRUCK RANGE OF VEHILCLES. SAME DEAL AS THE BA FALCON RANGE USING THE CAPPA FLASH TUNER(FORDEDIT BOX). REGARDS DAVID ROSCIO KPM MOTORSPORT
  2. hi we are now coming into close to 10 months of ba tuning and results are getting better and more refined as time goes on.the fordedit (flashtune) program has evolved to a point now were resolution of tuning and amount of parameters able to be tuned can only increases long term durability of the vehicle because of refinement of tuning even though power output is increased beyond factory engineered levels. we have had very few problems at the 230 rwkw level and especially not durability problems.only problems early on and were minor niggles and have been sorted out. good tune able to be achieved on an auto xr6t with 8-10 psi boost levels and some cars less. our next stage is 260-280 rwkw were reliability comes in the form of safe fuelling control over valve bounce and inlet /exhaust flow.these figures can be achieved with out most of these upgrades but at risk. not recomended due to lean fuelling and excessive boost pressures needed to achieve these figures.from our experiance long term durability comes from properly upgrading to suit power levels.at thees levels also consider transmission problems and need for upgrading for durability. beyond these levels 300rwkw+ defininate removal of engine and transmisions for upgrades as well as extra intercooling ,fuelling and intake upgrades again to engineer according to power levels required. the bottom line short cuts can be taken in tuning and upgrades to achieve power levels but at the definate risk of long term durability. we have now tuned dozens of ba xr6t as well as v8's and durability is fanatastic as long as correct steps are taken on power increases. at the level you are looking at( suggest 230 rwkw ) a good custom tune with time spent on making it just right will give you what you are looking for. regards david roscio kpm motorsport

  8. new edit upgrade program has been available now for a few weeks and after using it on a variety of cars (especially turbos) results are great. tuning is made to be more precise especially on the boost control, cam control and transmission shift/pressure side of tuning. I believe that existing owners with the edit have no need to retune on the new program if they are happy with there existing tunes.benifits would come only if you are looking for more precise control over boost and transmission shifts and pressures or are having some of the small issues problems eg. wg solenoid noise at ignition on. in saying this tuning is more precise with more control over many more areas than previous. where the edit was great before as the only tuning tool available it is even more precise now . if you are happy with edit original leave it, if you havent been edited or are looking for the extra control ,talk with us. kind regards david roscio kpm motorsport

  12. hi falchoon as you probably are aware you need to have even testing to comment. the rwkw reading on one dyno may be vastly different to another.also comes into play the strap down , set up and actual dyno running of the car from operator to operator. there is no true correct way but what is important is the opertor is consistant in his testing methods. that way you can be sure that every time you bring your car back for retesting it is done consistant to previous times.apples for apples !! good idea to find somone/somewhre you can trust and stick with them. david
  13. buying the edit box and loading the tune youself is a great start and the cheapast way of getting an edit. the down side is that with most turbos especially, 2 cars are never the same and the same tune can be miles apart for differant cars. what starts as the cheaper option can become more expensive in the long run in the way of fuel economy , reliability and general component longetivety. eg. incorrect fuelling can have great adverse effects on components such as cat convertors, pistons, spark plugs etc. incorrect boosting startegies adverse effects on just about every internal engine component incorrect timing maps adverse effects on all of the above. it takes a thoruogh understanding of the relationships and effects that any change made has on a vehicle and usaully is learnt over many years of proper training and just as importantly practical tuning. as with anything a good tradesman makes it seem easy and gives great results. buying the edit is a great start but wont give the long term result most a looking for. allow someone with years experiance to tune your car and give you the result you are after. regards david roscio kpm motorsport <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Would this explain why some tuners are getting up to 270rwkw with just a custom tuned edit whereas others such as yourself believe that 225 to 235rwkw is a safe and reliable tune before requiring bigger injectors? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Interesting question jordak - the same thing has been resident on my mind for a while, particularly since a local fellah now claims 273RWKW with Edit on standard injectors and safe AFRs....really?! How can this be, I'd welcome sensible responses to help explain this phenomenon. Dingah <{POST_SNAPBACK}> there is no correct afr that covers all vehicles and engines. the only correct afr is what that particular engine being tuned demands. our policy as a workshop is to tune to the afr that is best comprimise between power and safe exhaust temperatures for that particular engine.also in consideration is to what application that engine is being used for eg circuit, rally drag, street, dyno etc. our dd dyno reads 235 rwkw on an auto xr6t when we have afrs that are starting to raise exhaust temps.this is where we also see the injector duty cycle staring to run at maximum.(less longetivety to engine qand injectors). again these are our own experiances and what we feel comfortable tuning to. regards david roscio kpm motorsport
