Will report came back from the inspector and all is good so far with construction. Brick work needs silicon on the joins otherwise glade I got it done. Gyprock started on Tuesday and holly crap it makes a big difference. We went with square edge throughout the house but some of the caps will make it harder. Garage not done yet. I put a man hole in the linen press so we can gain access to the Air Con ducted unit for servicing if needed in the future. What was noticed that they cut the gas line. Oops!! -

No issues, inspector said all was good and we have extra bracing throughout the house and timber supports in the alfresco roof for high winds. Yes having a few drinks with my good friend Jimmy Black. Yummo!! EDIT - its worth doing and a great peace of mind. -

Well todays inspection went well. The Inspector was great and was very thorough and said to call him back at hand over. He even picked up on some stuff from just standing at the front. There is a small section of bricks above the garage that are still wet. He said water is getting inside the bricks and shouldn't be. Noted! A full report will be done. The builder was late but the inspector said that normal because they hate them coming onsite. Oops!! My builder was super friendly and didnt mind that he was onsite. Overall everything went smoothly. YA!! -

Tomorrow I'm onsite at 9am with inspector and builder should be fun. There is no cracks in the slabs and we have 4 concrete slabs. I very much doubt there will ever be any in the garage slab it's 400mm thick. -

Yep his gone and was in our area. He went bust and moved on leaving many people homeless. I was just speaking to our window lady this morning about him. He walk away and is living in SA on the high life in a multi million dollar home. A new person took over and is doing a great job but sadly its the company name that has the bad reputation. It's good to know now but a little to late we're almost at the end. Before picking a builder we went and meet with local costume building companies. Some where just outright wankers and the vibe wasn't there. With current builder we meet with wife and their house and all seemed good and feeling was ok. We went and saw previous builds from the outside and and the workmanship look alright. Talk to home owners.......NO we didn't. Speaking to tradies onsite are mixed 50/50. Some have said his sh*t all that they worry about is the money and some say his ok. I've seen both side and I always go with the worst because that's the true colours of a person. Nice to you face to face but first and quick to stab you in the back. I have emails that prove this. Onsite I look after the tradies myself by getting the lunch, drinks, ice blocks throughout summer time. As we all know and it's common law you treat people how you like to be treated. -

This morning I went to the window manufacture to ask about the windows and the mirrors. Firstly they dont do mirrors. Second the lady was great bought up our house file and said that all our windows are correct. She also said that a certificate will be issued to the builder when completed. I also asked would I need the certificate for insurance. The lady was great and gave me some more insight about the builder/company............NOT GOOD! They said they never paid there trade always away on holidays (YEP) and that their show home was always vandalised. Now she says that I do remember builders wife telling us things always got stolen from the show home and once someone flooded the house by putting a hose through the window. It explain why they sold their family home to move into the show home. KARMA a bitch and will always get you. -
top of the morning to you all.

True!! I dont think it would be much of an issue if they weren't such fukwits (my builder) Yes they are building MY house to which I think the home owner should have more rights. The home owner should be able to go onsite when ever they wont (if safe to do so) things change and idea's come up whilst the build is taking place. You might want to add something here or take something away. From paper to real life are 2 different things. I would like to add blocking in the garage so I can hung the bikes, all my surf craft maybe even a wall hung tool cabinet later on. I know I can to the work myself or get one of my carpenter friends to do it but I know my builder (not a carpenter) will go ape 5hit because he will be missing out on money. Anyway Inspection booked in for Friday total cost $400. -

Yeah a little better. I've put it down to 2 things. 1 - His done everything his meant to and to code or 2 - He knows I know that I'm within my rights to get one. Either way it's a peace of mind that it can be inspected before the gyprock goes up. -

@genuine honest person thanks mate living in Wollongong area. There are some windows with stickers on and some with nothing. Next time im onsite ill get some photo's. Like you said we paid for Low E glass to reduce the heat and glare on north facing windows and the one over the pool and unsure if that's what I got. I received an email from builder saying it was ok for me to obtain a independent building inspection. WOW I was excepting a nasty email back saying NO and why. I have friends who are builders who I could use but will go with someone else and getting a full written report. I'm not worried about the money I want everything done right. Im looking forward to getting this done. -

after all the BS and lairs from the builder he now request for us to do a walk through before gyprock goes up. I dont know what im looking at and would like a second pair of eyes so I emailed them and told them that I would like a independent building inspection done. I know we are within our rights and I know builders do not like it but if there have done the job right then they will let us and have nothing to hide. Waiting
