Because that's what it said in the manual. something along the lines of the car not running to the right emissions. Anyway cars booked in for thursday. See what they say.
-
I started the car last night and the engine light didnt go out. started and idled like normal. I tried turning off and on a few times but it still stayed on. drove it home and car is running like normal but with the light on. so I disconnected the battery over night to clear it and see if it lights up again. after the first start and a 20 min drive no light. let the car rest for a few hours and tried again. the light came on just after I turned the key but still running like normal. I know it just an emission light so im guessing its one of the o2 sensors or the cat. is there anything else it could be? car has no mods and hasnt been tuned and is under warrenty so ill be taking to ford when I get the chance during the week. just after other peoples thoughts on this. oh and the car has never been serviced at ford. I do most of the work my self. I just done the manifold bolts 2 weeks ago and cleaned the TB.
-
I will be modding the car later on so no real point in the ford tunes is there. I.B. I did have some warrenty work done in pre delivery that I picked up in my inspection. other than that had no problems I couldnt fix my self. car is nearly 2 years old now so I guess ive had a very good run compared to other people.
-
ive got a november 06 bf2 xr6t auto. just wondering if anybody knows if ford have updated tunes. if so is it worth updating and do ford charge a fee for this? my car hasnt seen a ford dealership since I drove out it when new.

I went with the performance super street package which they recommend for the gt and xr6t. ive spent the day driving around and what a difference it makes to the car. alot more confident and traction around corners. im not sure what settings the dampers are at but it is firm without being uncomfortable. ill have to have a play around with them and see what the differences are. the car has dropped 20mm from standard and I wouldnt want to go any lower with the worry of scraping the front. ill post some pics when I get around to taking some.
-
nah not getting the module, its an extra $800. ill set them up how I like it and probably wont touch them again. im also getting a camber-castor kit and short rear bump stops installed also. they also highly recommend a 30mm front sway bar but ill stick with the stock ones, for now anyway.

well after alot of deliberation ive decided to go with the tein setup. after reading what 'straughsberry' has written about them ive booked my car in for thursday at the same place he had his installed. thursday just cant come quick enough.

The KFFL-53SSLHD is for the BA SerII only and will not fit the BA SerI and earlier. The KFFL-53SSLHD is approx 60mm shorter on free height and different in the inside diameter. We have King Springs Part No's KFFL-53SSLHD (front) & KFRL-68SSL (rear) to lower your vehicle approximately 30-35mm from factory std height. These springs are designed with an increase in spring rate of approximately 25%. RRP is $ 160.00 + GST per pair front RRP is $ 160.00 + GST per pair rear. I assume kris ment BF not BA. is the 30-35mm drop what others have experienced? im a little worried that it might be a little too much. or is the drop from falcon xt height not xr height.
-
cool, ill email kris and report back with some answers hopefully.
-
thanks egoxrt. so I have to get these for my bf2 then. do u know how much it lowers the car from standard xr hight?
-
im looking to get the xr6t lowered soon and was looking through the king springs online catalogue. does anybody have any info as to why they have a different listing for BF MKii, thought they would be same springs as BA. ba BF front - KFFL-57/520 BF MKii front - KFFL-53SSLHD
-
im definatly interested in a bf version. if the kind person with it could upload it somewhere, would be great.
-
yeah its just plain wrong not having the switches light up. my nov. built bf2 was the same. I got in contact with aumat and he fixed them up for me. now it looks like the way it shouldve left the factory.

thanks extreme. so its that easy hey. y the hell dont the dealership know this. they had no idea. when I go back in a few weeks ill tell them this. and if they still want to heat it up and bend it ill tell them to give me a new painted bumper skirt and ill adjust the exhaust myself.
-
update about the exhaust. the paint has started to melt from the bumber skirt now. so I went back to the dealership and specifically showed the service advisor that told me it wont melt the bumber when I picked the car up. of course he now changed his tune and said 'that it has moved more. it wasnt this bad.' which is bs and I told him so. so they put the car on the hoist get a crowbar and hammer out and start bashing. in the end the couldnt move it and its still the same. I immediately demand a whole new exhaust and he replies he has to speak with ford and get instructions from them first but ford might want us to heat up the brackets and move it. of course I said no way. anyway, what experiences have people had over the exhaust allignment issue. do ford replace with a new one?. the rims were bought through wheel king. they cost $3800 with falken fk452 tyres. the dealer organised it all and the price was included in the final price for the car. but im very happy I paid the extra for them.
-
after a 5 week wait the car is in the driveway. car drives great and looks great with the gt 19's. im dissapointed the power windows switches are still not lit, but aumatt is fixing that up for me. a couple of things im not happy about. I spotted them at the dealership inspection and I made sure everybody at the dealership knows how pissed off I am. firstly the exhaust tip is right over to one side, about 1.5-2 cm clearance to the bumper. secondly theres a paint run at the bottem of the drivers door. they think its not a big problem and the paint shop they use will fix it under warranty. ive gone thru this process before and jo blow working in 'fords approved panel shop' couldnt give a stuff if its repaired proply. they wouldnt let me take it to a panel shop of my choice, so im not sure if I will get it fixed under warrenty yet. anyway its good to be back in a T.
-
thanks fordtech, makes sense to me. hopefully wont be needing the dsc very often so all should be good. when I do get the car all do some test in the wet and see what the dsc actually does/feels like.
-
Slash - just checked - no illumination in any of the window switches.... ← Hold the bus - doh - turned the ignition on now...... ok - window switches on the KERB side of the car are illuminated, both front and back, window switches on the drivers side of the car are not - neither front or back. WTF???????? I summise that they ran out of Right Hand LED's. LOL.... ← thanks johnny. that's very interesting. my car gets delivered in about 2 weeks, so that will be one of the things ill check and if they arnt all lite up im gonna make a big complaint and see if they will install the lit ones.
-
my dealer is putting the 19's from the bf1 gtp on my bf2 xr6t. the car is about 2 weeks away from being delivered. I didnt even think about the dsc so I hope theres no problems.
-
johnny, are all the window illuminated? just curios because ford apperently stopped fitting the leds half way thru the bf1.
-
car was bought using an employee discount, so maybe I shouldnt reveal the price.
-
I got rid of the ba2 earlier this year. was never happy with the paint work done under warranty after 2 different panel shop had a go at matching the paint and cause more problems in the process, plus I had been rear ended 3 months after owning it. so when the opportunity came to offload it I grabbed it.
-
just done the deal today on a bf mkII xr6t in toxic. the new car will be the same as the ba in my sig except now getting auto and the gtp 19' wheels. ive got a long 4-6 week wait ahead of me. what are peoples experinces with insurance regarding the 19's in melb. do they allow one size bigger than standard? or do I have to go thru shannons or the like? Thanks guys

originally it was a few black bubbles under the clear coat on the passenger door and thin paint on the boot spoiler. in their many attempts at fixing this the following problems arised: hair in paint, top half of door painted only, paint not matching, then whole side of car painted to match colour (still didnt match with boot and bonnet), overspray everywhere, paint runs, 2 scratched windows (I made them replace), chipped paint on rim (again replaced), burn marks from polisher and many more little things. this is why I want to protect myself from all this happening again.
