I will email my contact and ask him to drop the price by $20 saying people are swaying towards magic cat, a bit of healthy competition. 5. The Metal Cat is 200 cell The Magic Cat is 300 cell Less cells = More flow

[post="342575"][/post]
The "Magic CAT" is $230 the "Metal CAT" is $260 They are 2 competing brands, Metal claim there flows more and is legal and they say the other is not legal. I have organized this for forum members but will be getting mine done tomorrow at autotech as i have it booked in and Spiro will supply the 3.5 inch magic CAT fitted, it will cost me a bit more but i don’t have time to wait so will pay a premium. i will give feedback on results.

8.
Is anyone running this cat at the moment that can give some feedback. It sounds awefully cheap for a high performance cat. Regards Adrian [post="342546"][/post]
The recommended retail is $420, I got them down to $350. I then asked what would you sell 10 at, and he gave me a price of $260. So it cheap due to the bulk buy.
9.
Will I still need a dump pipe for this one? [post="342523"][/post]
It can be connected to the factory dump pipe
10. Hi All I was wondering who would be interested in a group buy of the 3.5 inch MetalCat. they have given me a deal of $260 plus $20 Delivery anywhere in AUST. You can view there site at www.metalcat.com.au They are legal and have CARB/EPA number and have it STAMPED on the body. They are confident it outflow all competitors that they will pay half the cost to get an independent company to test.
11. Trough Lolly I'm going the same path as you, with intercooler and MetalCat, but I have already fitted 42lb injectors which cost about $350, and make 260RWKW, I think fitting the CAT and intercooler will get me about 290RWKW for daily driving. Not sure if I will need valve springs but if they become an issue I will stop at the power level they do.
12. Yeah Jack, I think you are right about Adam's T. that's closer to what I want to get to. Luke here's a pic of my dyno chart with before and after SMB dump pipe and cat installation. I made more power everywhere with good gains in the upper rev range, also peak power is developed a bit earlier aswell with no more boost than I already had. Cheers, Adam. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Adam did you need to get a retune after you got it fitted ? or was it safe to run as is after the installation ?
13. Hi FR33DY, what type of exhaust are you using on your car? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Its a stock system at the moment, I will get either autotech to fit a hi-flow CAT or Magic Performance who make them. the rest of the system will stay standard.
14. I'm not to sure what the gain will be but I’m fitting a high-flow 3.5 inch CAT next week and retaining the rest of the system, this should give us a better a result on improvement as I will run before and after on the dyno, I’m also adding a intercooler so the result will also take this into account
15. I'm going to Autotech on Wednesday to get a service, my DW intercooler fitted and Hi-flow Magic CAT installed. I will do a before dyno run to confirm my RWKW as I did watch it pull over 260RWKW at intune and will be interested to see 8 months down the track what its pulling before and after the fitment of the parts then a custom retune, I think a safe tune on 12psi is what I will aim for hopefully that will get me about 290RWKW Fred
16. guys as I need my CAT before Wednesday next week I will be going with Adrian as he already has 12 orders and I can get it fitted for $150 so I will be only saving $30 or so by waiting, and after waiting so long for the intercooler I don’t have the patience Fred
17. Done!! PM sent also. Let me know if there are any probs. Leigh <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Guys don’t PM me with the details, I'm not adrian I just posted his email to me, his email address is Adrianvh@bigpond.net.au I have organised our own group buy from magic performance 1. 3.5 inch CAT - $200 2. Fitting for Sydney guys $150 3. Delivery $10 So $350 for fitted hi-flow cat is quite good, can I get at least 4 Sydney guys for this price, its about $150 cheaper then I got else were.
18. We charge $90.00 for standard fitting where it is a straight forward weld in job. This is the case with most aftermarket exhausts. The standard XR6 turbo exhaust has a twin outlet from the standard cat. As the MAGIC cat has a single outlet, fitting to the standard XR6 turbo exhaust cost more than $90.00 <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Magic How much for the CAT with install, there are about 4 Sydney guys who are interested in this and more who just want the CAT. Fred
19. Hey Fred I'm happy to arrange for others to join in. The RRP price on the 4.5-5inch models is $549. From memory the group price is $480 for 8 or more. These have never been popular in the past and Magic don't sell a lot, thus I can't get it any lower. We have had awesome results with the 3.5inch units. They will fit a 3.5 inch system and also a 3 inch will fit on the inside neatly with a 1.5mm gap all round. Easy to weld in. They literally flow like you don't have any cat installed. My account details are. Adrian Van Haeren BSB: 803228 Acc: 112905 Bigsky credit union. $230 per unit Members will need to put their name as a reference (eg Allen Brown=A.Brown) and email me once done. As soon as everyone is paid up I will place the order. The cost includes delivery too your door via registered post. My trader feed back is here for your members piece of mind. http://ausrotary.dntinternet.com/forums/vi...ighlight=adrian And ebay member feedback http://feedback.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.d...userid=adrianvh Feel free to forward this too your members and let me know how you get on. Cheers Adrian
20. Jeff I think we have about 6 or so members interested in a group Buy, were you able to get a trade price, I got quoted $200 plus freight. I have been quoted $480 for supply and fit of the 3.5 inch version and I think it can be done for just over $300 if we get a group buy. I also email the guy that is organizing the group buy for the rotary boys to see if we can get access to his pricing
21. I will call them again tomorrow, this is for the smaller version of the 2 cats. The core is 4.5 inches long and 4 inches across. These universal fit units can be supplied to fit 2.5 inch, 3 inch and 3.5 inch exhaust systems. Bench flow test showed 750 cfm, I will see what it will cost for 5 units and for fitting but he I think if we can get them installed for $300 it will be a good buy as I have been quoted $480 else where.
22. I just called them up and they can do them for $200 inc GST plus freight They are also an exhaust shop so if you need to get them fitted and live in Sydney they can help out. So can we organise a group buy ?
23. I'm interested, I would like to get them to fit it as well.
24. apart from the centre muffler removal what else have you done to the exhaust ?
25. Not sure yet, still have not got the intercooler, thinking about gettting a 3.5 inch magic cat installed then going and seeing Spiro at autotech or tunehouse, I might go spiro has he has done a lot of T's even if they are not EDIT he understands the cars.
