MINE GODT!!!!! BE CAREFUL!!!!! that much pulling power combined with the OptiLube option could end up anywhere! "The OPTI-LUBE System directs lubricant to critical areas to reduce transmission friction and lubricant temperature for increased transmission efficiency, fuel economy, and longevity." YE HA!!!! BRING IT ON!!!!

IR receiver? it's not the interior temp sensing point for the auto climate is it?

All. Please note. I'm in the carpark at Woolies with a blank screen. Not the drive-in with the Barrel of Maguires. Has never even crossed my mind - until it was brought up by Phantomchic...... PS - Reckon Lumpy's in trouble; no drive in in Grafton now.... PPSS -ok Grass - I'm RTFM'ing - again. I must have been on the third glass of Laphroigs by that point....
-
I have recently placed Anto Hoff sensors at the four corners of my property. If any Hoff attributed device or disturbance is noted, sirens sound and lights flash. Be warned - Hoff-ites! The blaring sounds and flashing lights are closely accompanied by more dire consequences........ see attached! CASHMERE. Also a HOFF FREE ZONE.

Love your work.... sitting in carparks in the dark waiting for the Mrs to finish the shopping will be a much more pleasant place. Phantomchic will probably say I should be pushing the trolley - but hey...... you know.... quality music and sitting in the T takes presedence to just about anything....

Jetute - will drop mine out to let someone else have a go - I've already got several runs up on PT's mill, and am awaiting new valve springs now before the re-do of the custom. I'll be happy to throw a donation in to the site though - will contribute on the day! Mark and Paul - thanks for your continued support. John

believe from the 260kw quad cam..... could be wrong though.... suprised there isn't another manufacturer busting to get in on this....
-
I'm in. Was in with Mark at PTE for the custom yesterday, and had some bad news on the valve springs front - 8lb: only just, and the 10lb: forget it. More flutter than me after a night on the turps....... So - 24 new additions are on the way. Then the custom for the custom... Look forward to the day. Make it 23......

Have spent a while dredging the threads trying to piece together the story on going down the valve spring replacement track..... and (as it's all over the shop) decided to start a thread for reference in future. Namely - Manufacturers: who, where and are they a good product and what are the unit's spec's. Appears there are two types accepted as viable - a/ Ford genuine V8 Valve Springs - have a close pressure at full lift around 40 to 50lb higher than the standard T springs, and b/ Nizpro Cobra Valve Springs, specs unknown. If you have info / spec's / links / thread references worth posting, please add them...... Appreciate your input, as I'm in choose mode....

WELL. that's been an interesting afternoon The lubricable contents of my diff - at 34,000ks would be best described as . Whatever our dear friends at Ford put in it originally had completely served it's time - it was burnt, stinking, rotten and black. In went the couple of litres of new SAF-XA, and the whiney repercussions from the rear end have gone. Exit stage left. Recommendation? 20,000k's max, and change it.
-
sounds like it was a ripper - well done team. as for me a/ work (in Melbourne) and b/ the mother in law..............you don't know HOW MUCH I MISSED YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
Cuppla comments: a/ mine's running 0.8mm gap, and no issue since the edit b/ the top door slammer I work on around the traps runs a motherload of supercharged pressure, and around 4000 horsepower. It's NGKs are set to an exact 15 thou. A TINY gap. Gap your plugs man!
-
Ditto - great work Adam. Doing a flush and change next week..... figure the cost of the Castrol outweighs a couple of well known others - as it'll be about four changes of it to one of theirs. Specs for the new formula SAF-XA look spot on.

Pushing the lever the right way..... LOL..... oh the humour just takes me to another level.... Tx for your vote of confidence BugSTIR . Yeah - the first time it happened I thought I'd flipped rather than flapped - but no - a couple more times and it was a definite. Only does it now and then... as for WHY it's doing it - well.... any suggestions appreciated.

URGENT Sorry team - I'm out. Have to be in Melbourne at 12MD Friday to complete an urgent set of corporate presentations for a customer... then onto a customer install site til the late hours, and again Saturday a.m. Won't be back in Bris til late Saturday evening - so I'm stuphed. Such is my life in the medical IT industry. We don't stop for weekends. My apologies to all. JG. Lumpy - appreciate all the work you've done - this is going to be an excellent cruise. Anyone that can make it - you'll LOVE it. And mind the 90degree bend at the end of the back straight at Lawrence, or you'll end up in Sportsmans Creek. LOL.
-
Mine only does one strange, loopy thing - and then only occassionaly.... it sort of goes like this: drive > across the gate to perf mode to drop it to 3rd, then down shift to second. Instead of going to second it slots itself to fourth. Novel idea when you're punching in under some speed and waiting for some compression assistance on the setup - and you nearly get launched through the apex into the mulga in fourth! Keeps you on your toes though.

positive crankcase ventilation From the net: "The air filter and positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) valve are important parts of your vehicle's fuel system. The air filter provides clean air to a vehicle's carburetion system, and if it becomes clogged or dirty, it can cause your car to idle or run roughly and reduce gas mileage. The PCV valve helps prevent the release of gas fumes from the engine. If it becomes blocked or clogged, it can cause oil leaks and promote the formation of sludge in the engine. You should check your air filter every six months and replace it according to the vehicle manufacturer's recommendations. If you're unsure, replace the filter every 12 months or 12,000 miles, or sooner if the vehicle is operated in extremely dusty conditions. Replace the filter when it appears dirty or clogged. Replace the crankcase breather filter at the same time if it's dirty. Check the PCV valve and any related hoses whenever you check or replace the air filter."

There's been a couple of threads that visited the DIFF OIL issue - but not many. So - with all the combined experiences that we now have - I want to throw up the following 2 questions.... A - How many K's should a T do before a Diff Oil Change?? B - What replacement oil goes in?? Standard?? Change to something like Redline 80W140 or similar?? What are you using?? and DOES IT WORK??? Tx for the interest in the oft neglected "back end of the beast". Johnny G

And I'm with you Shaz..... for an ex Blues Brother, I've now been fully fitted with the Convertor. Go the Marooooooons! Gary C - a Yamba Boy? Didn't go to Maclean High did you? Didn't leave and head off to Edinburgh in SA for some Air Force stuff did you? Surely there can't be two of them..... Lumpy - Customising the near perfect custom edit next Thursday prior to the run. Different setup for the Reg to back off the fuel pressure a little.... the 10lb is pushing a little toooooo much.... and yes - the bypass high road or low road thing is always a toss up. If I'd have bought a little farm on that quiet back road - I'd be fairly up in arms by now.... it's a dam freeway! Off to Willowbank on the morrow... greasy fingers time.
-
I'm still cool for 2.30pm-ish Dreamworld carpark..... Dusted - good luck. Hope it all comes through. PS ?? - are we doing the Ballina bypass to cut out the 4pm idiocy there - and save 15 minutes? I'll guide you on that little jaunt by the river..... But yes - it will be a sensible cruise down - speed limiters engaged please. JG
-
Yes Lump - this WAS the before shot. After I finished dribbling all over them - they were shiney again. Once upon a time there was maniac (last name of Crawford) in Lismore - had an unassuming Charger that appeared standard on the outside - but with three of these meanies (with larger choke tubes, mainjets etc), a crazy Waggett cam, ported, polished and matched to a mirror finsh, oversize valves, and a set of extractors that met in the final collector near the diff etc - it just flew and WAS the best sounding six I've ever heard. Nauseatingly nice it was....
-
me thinks lumpy's still drooling over our gallery from yesterady's cruise!! (yes folks - the gallery is open for business go to...... http://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/index.ph...y&cmd=sc&cat=51
-
PS - anyone heading out to Willowbank for the Winternationals - call in and say gooday at the "Monshine Bandit's" Studebaker Racing Team tent (Robin Judd - Top Doorslammer - 6.10's as regular as my newspaper delivery). Will be packing chutes etc for the 3 days. JG.
-
So get this one. Turned my aircon twice in the last week - and it refused to cool anything. Press every button every which way - and NUP - Zip. Had the non working climate on this avo on the cruise with the Qld team (gave it a second chance) - and had to brake hard for a little corner that did rush up - and HEY PRESTO - it's working again. Any comment anyone? Low on Gas? As for the stale air issue - have never had that problem - yet!! Is there a filter on the intake anywhere?
-
Still all systems go at the G end. Me an the Mrs.... Friday cruise down from Bris and Saturday only (unfortunately). Heading back to Bris early Sunday.... something about the mother in law . Lumpy - where is the Ultimate pump in Maclean? Is that the new BP servo in River street down toward the fish co-op ? Or is it the one out on the highway 3 k's south? PS - if you knew the quality control on standard unleaded, and the QC on Ultimate, you'd all be using it. Say no more . Besides, mine won't run on anything but...... PPSS - anyone going to the Winternationals next weekend, call in and say hullo at the Moonshine Bandit's (Studebaker Racing Team) tent (Robin Judd - top doorslammer). Having a 3 day break packing the chutes.
