  1. Exactly this. The FGX isn't a big enough change from the FG, add to that I think the FG is the best looking Falcon ever made and it was never going to sell me. When I moved from BA to BF it was very much the same... the cars were too similar to keep my interest for long and didn't really feel like a 'new' car. At least moving to the FG felt like something new. For current FG owners I just don't see the move to FGX all that attractive unless you're completely sold on the looks or really want 'the last Falcon'. The '5' series Audi's come in about six or eight different engine/transmission configurations, one of which is the 2.0 turbo that I opted for. On paper the numbers don't seem all that impressive but to drive, the car 'feels' surprisingly capable. The quattro and 7 speed dual clutch definitely help. I wouldn't consider it quick by any stretch but realistically you don't buy one of these if you're chasing horsepower. Depends what you consider fast, but yes from what I understand there seems to be the usual assortment of turbo kits, ECU upgrades, exhausts, etc. available. Have heard that they can be tuned to 500-600awhp but my guess is the engine would be within an inch of its life to achieve that.
  2. Appreciate the kind words guys. Definitely going to be sad to see her go. Just hope it goes to a good home. I ended up going with a new Audi A5 coupe. After more than 10 years driving turbo Falcons and being less than impressed with the new FGX, I decided to try something different. The Audi is now my daily drive, I did originally plan to keep the F6 aswell, but I simply just don't seem to find any time to drive it thus my decision to put it on the market. Somebody else should be enjoying it if I can't. I promised myself I wouldn't mod this new car but as usual I've already put coilovers in and added some new wheels. It's a sickness I know. It doesn't even come close to the performance of the F6 but it's pretty good on fuel, looks cool and is a nice place to be. I may look at a 'toy' again next year, possibly a Mustang if they're any good, not too sure yet. Here's a pic of the new daily.
  3. Cheers guys. I'm just not getting time to drive the car anymore and really don't have the garage space to keep storing it as much as I'd love to. I already have another car to drive on the daily so the sensible thing for me to do is sell. I obviously think it's a reasonable asking price given the goodies fitted. Consider too, that the spare parts it comes with are worth a few thousand on their own. Any potential buyer could easily sell these to make up a few dollars. I'm also happy to consider realistic offers circa $50K, the price is a starting point, not set in stone.
  4. I just put my F6 up for sale if you're interested. http://www.carpoint.com.au/all-cars/private/details.aspx?R=SSE-AD-3083735&Cr=7
  5. May have my F6 up for sale early next year. I'm in VIC though, so probably not ideal unless you want to truck it to WA. Will be looking for around $50K if I do decide to put in on the market.
  6. Agreed. Both the Duragloss and Zaino products are fantastic.
  7. Here's a side on shot for a better look at the brakes.
  8. No, haven't had any problems with mine, although they don't seem to be great in the wet. Im still on the supplied pads from Harrop. Yes, both front and rear are 2 piece rotors. The handbrake works exactly the same as the one piece factory setup.
  9. Hi alltourque, sorry for the late reply. When fitting the Dalars on the rear of mine I used a 3mm spacer to allow the caliper to clear. These can be purchased at most auto part or wheel stores for very little money. I've since replaced my wheels so no longer need to run any spacers in the rear. Hope this helps.
  10. Playing around with some new gear last night... Follow my progress on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/paulbphoto
  11. My vote would be Synology. I have a number of different NAS drives at home from Synology, Netgear & Buffalo. The Synology (DS412+ with 4 x 2TB WD Red) has easily been the best. Performance is fast, plenty of features and it has been nothing short of bulletproof. The Synology DiskStation Manager (DSM) has a great interface and supports plenty of first and third party apps. I have a few friends with the DS213j who have good experiences also. Depending on what your storing (how important is it to you?), and taking into consideration you are shopping for a 2 bay NAS, I would look at RAID1 not RAID0, at least this way you will have some fault tolerance albeit at the expense of capacity. A few extra TB's of space will seem insignificant if you loose all your family photos/video (memories), personal/business documents, etc...
  12. For those of you that were interested, the car was published in Street Fords issue 117 (on sale 25/12/13), it even scored the centerfold. Really pleased with that.
  13. I replaced my heat exchange a number of months ago as a preventative measure... not much to report as you would expect, it just works. Trans takes slightly longer to get to temp but otherwise you wouldn't know it's there. I also serviced my ZF at the same time (60K km), oil still 'looked' good but shifts definitely feel better after doing the service. I didnt get mine via a group, just from my local workshop, can't imagine you couldn't do the same. $700-$750 is about what the kit is worth. As an FYI the ZF service kit from Ford is approx $600. It includes 6 ltrs of ZF Lifeguard oil, filter & pan gasket. Few pics for your reference. Whats in the kit? Factory exchange Installed
  14. I use Lightroom & Photoshop. They're pretty much the standard when it come to photo editing.
  15. Photoshoot was done a few weeks back. When I last spoke with the editor he advised me it was likely to appear in issue 115 or 116 (think they're at 112 or 113 at the moment), so all going well sometime before the end of the year. Couple of phone shots of Jun at work.
  16. Digging up the old threads I see Mark Car is going well, since I posted last in this thread (as most would know) the car has been treated to a number of extra bits and pieces including new brakes, wheels, PWR heat exchange and probably a few other things I've forgotten. Very happy with how the car has turned out.
  17. Few shots I took on the weekend. Thought I'd share.
