    Ba Falcon Wiring

Firstly there is no such thing as a wiring diagram. Now there are many wiring diagrams to suit the BA. I found the local Ford dealer had no hesitation to let me look through the manual that has all the wiring diagrams for the BA. So I would suggest to enquire locally. Colin
  2. I have a mobile card and the card has all mobil fuels available. The only thing is that mobil doesn't give my company any discount on premium. We get a discount on standard UL but even that is only a discount off the regional price, not what is at the pump. Because of that I have only ever used Shell Optimax and never had any problems. That way I can also get 4c off per litre. Then get reimbursed for the fuel anyway.
  3. I thought I read somewhere there was a problem if you left the dust covers off. That once the wheel is placed back on and studs tightened the clearance was such that the wheel became stuck on.
  4. Thanks for that info, I have exactly the same problem. Will look into it.
  5. From what I have been told of the terms and conditions it seems like a lot of trouble to save 2c per litre more. 2 cents you may ask???? Only the initial offer is 8c/lt. Then it goes to 6c/lt. They give you vouchers for +4c off to use in conjuntion with you shopper docket 4c/lt. After the introductory period you get +2c/lt vouchers (max 4 per month) each time you get a statement. The number of vouchers depends on the amount of purchase you do on the card. So if you qualify for 4x2c vouchers for the month and you fill the car 4 times at say 50 litres you save $1 per fill. You still have to have the shopper docket to use in conjunction. So it seems like a lot of mucking around to gain the other +2c/lt.
  6. From what I have looked into Edit (the black box) is the same regardless of where you buy it. The difference is with some Edit's you get the box only with 3 generic preset programs for you to use. Other Edit's you get your vehicle custom tuned and then that tune saved. I can't talk about how good the various suppliers of Edit are at tuning, but lets face it all the suppliers are people who have been in the performance market for a number of years. The only way to have it custom tuned is on a dyno and that's where the price varies in the amount of dyno time allotted.
  7. I explained the inlet box mods and that was OK. As you said when I said it also came as a kit with the inlet box moved to the other side and a battery swap, that went into the too hard basket and I would have to explain is all to someone further up. Colin
  8. I to am with AAMI and they said they allow 1 mod, without affecting the premium. I enquired about the Edit stage 1 kit. If they allow only 1 mod I'm now wondering about going for the stage 3 kit. Full comprhensive insurance $550 per year. Colin
  9. I keep worrying about this ECU tuning Ford do for our benifit. I am about to go the Flash Edit and after reading the comments here I won't be going near a dealer after that for services. Colin
  10. My Service was $243.15, 3 months ago. There is and additional 56 minutes labour charge ($60 per hour) for the Turbo model to check and tighten exaust and turbo bolts. This is in the service manual. I wonder for the $140 services was this done?? Colin

    Tyres

Interested in the tyres you mention but, as a 17" they don't conform to the vehicle rating sticker. Michelin Pilot Preceda's 235/45/R17 94V The tyre sticker states must be greater than 92 load rated and greater than W speed rated fitted to this vehicle. V=240 klm/hr W=270 klm/hr 92 load = 630kgs so the 94 is OK Colin

    Tyres

Hi curly, How many klm's have you had from the original Dunlops. I can't see any wear on mine at 20,000 klm. Colin

    Tyre Pressure

After a Skilled driver course they claim to always run all tyres at the max as indicated on the tyre placard.

    Handbrake

What happened to the auto tensioner setup on previuos models. As far as I knew then all you had to do was to pull the brake on a couple of times when going is reverse to apply tension. A friend with a XR8 had the car serviced recently. He told the dealer the brake was needing adjustment. When he got home again it rolled down his driveway. When he went back to the dealer he was told that is was checked in the workshop and didn' t roll on the flat. The dealer went on to say that they avoid the adjusting of the brake as it is not an easy thing to do as mentioned previously. The dealer then charged ~$45 to adjust the brake as only a CHECK is included in the service. NOT an adjust.
  15. According to the pamphlet from Ford with my alarm states; Arming the system, When the system arms a double beep/flash acknowledgment occurs. If a door is ajar the horn sounds a series of beeps and the system doesn't arm. If the boot or bonnet is ajar the alarm will beep 3 times. Disarming the system A single beep/flash acknowledgment occur. Opening the boot via the keypad while the system is armed causes a triple beep/flash. And I know what happens if you open the boot with a key instead of the keypad while armed. If the system faults the horn beeps 3 or 4 times when arming disarming. These details are straight from Ford. Document BISN100009
  16. I have the Ford alarm fitted. It was a piece of mind thing at the time. One annoying aspect it that it toots the horn everytime you lock (2 toots) and unlock (1 toot). The dealer suggested the lock nuts at the time as the wheels have dissapeared off cars in their yard. I found a tyre dealer who sold me a rim with a next to new tyre for $450 with $100 trade in on the steel wheel and tyre.

    Xr6t Road Noise

I had the same deadener applied to the underbody of mt XR6T. It did help a bit. I had it explained to me that they can't apply it to the wheel arches as most of the inner linings are plastic which flexes and the lining will crack and fall off. So they only spray the metal parts.
  18. Just checked the spreadsheet average over the 18,000 klm's from new is 11.46 l/100k for me.
