sorted out my new server software YAY FreeNas test rig up and running, sweet as now looking at NAS HDD's and configuration and basically how much money is my data worth

Decided to change my operating system on my server sick of windoze home server 2011 and apparently a change is as good as a holiday. . . . . . . . . downloaded FreeNAS cos it came as highly recommended, and as the name suggests, it's free installed on a spare SSD and chucked a couple of HDD's in for a test run Operating system install: check set up web user interface: check format HDD's: check access HDD's in web user interface: check transfer files to HDD:

After alot of pushing and shoving it's shoehorned into the tiny box NNMe drive is bloody fast[emoji3] Boots up from scratch in about 12 seconds! Runs almost silent Temps are quite cool Less than 10 degrees above ambient at idle.
