  1. Mrs BCB has organised the holiday (it's her favorite thing) my only request was to take in a Moto Gp race so we are going to the Argentinian round we were going to go to the Texas round as well (circuit of the Americas) but things got to complicated, so that got scrubbed
  2. 2020 is looking great so far upgraded my PC late last year, dumped Intel and went with AMD Ryzen and very pleased with the outcome made a pool cooler for $140 that works surprisingly well had a performance appraisal at work and got a pay rise applied for and got paid out my portable long service leave (10 years worth) and have put that toward a 9 week holiday to South America, Cuba and Hawaii in March/April this year
  3. hey @.Stripes. , good to see you back here how's your home ownership going?
  4. WTF wheres the fun in that? it's always a laugh when you chop a boy racer
  5. did a bios update which always makes me nervous in case of a power loss/brown out but all good and very impressed with the outcome hopefully things will get even better next bios update when I first built this PC in October 2019 I ran a couple of benchmarks and was happy with the results cos it beat my old Intel® Core™ i7-3930K by 1 ½ times faster my Cinebench R20 score was 1572 After reading a lot of recommendations concerning the X570 motherboard platform, everyone was saying to get the latest bios update from the motherboards website, so I did here are my new results: Cinebench R20 all cores: Cinebench R20 single core: here are some reference scores from December 2019: I'm impressed with the improvement, and looks like there is still room for more my CPU smashes the single core bench, but looks a bit lacking in multi-threaded test
  6. no leaks over night so I put the dye in I decided my OCD will just have to deal with the piping not being "perfect"
  7. Fitted my new fans and changed things around a bit. Finally screwed down the water pump/reservior Got the new fans on push, old fans were pull configuration RGB looks pretty cool, photos don't really do it justice Still have to put the dye in, just watching for any leaks Also, my OCD is wanting me to make another tube from the CPU to the side radiator Cos not quite right [emoji13]
  8. Does anyone even use 91 in a turbo falcon?
  9. I am officially a Lian Li fan boy When ever I have read or watched a review about one of their products there is usually praise lavished upon it I got my new case because of such a review and I wasn't disappointed I just purchased 6 120mm Lian Li RGB fans theses are the most beautiful fans I have ever bought standard black/white plastic but with the addition of an aluminium ring both sides that actually has a machined surface
  10. not like that @Mrs Jeturbo I love @JETURBO cos of what he does to our cars
  11. I love @JETURBO, but for totally different reasons
  12. I thought you would be an Apple fanboy cos Fluff is one
  13. just get the case and go from there I paid $189, see its gone up $10 though best $189 I've ever spent on a case period! bought THIS yesterday finally get some RGB fans into the equation going to also modify my tubing and make a dedicated fill port to make life a tad easier
  14. thanx @skidxr6t I came across this "theory" a number of years ago when mucking around in my mates pool we had a bucket, filling it up with pool water and chucking it at everyone someone tossed the water up into the air and when it fell on us we were shocked as to how cold it was did it over a few times just to make sure it wasn't a freak occurrence this year our lychee tree was pruned right back which used to shade the pool for at least half of the day so the pool was getting hotter quicker so remembering what happened at me mates pool all those years ago I searched the inter-web for some answers, and the rest as they say is history (whoever "they" are)
  15. this is the riser I haven't glued the end cap, just a single stainless screw so I can experiment with different options I've made the slot wider to try and get the biggest spread of water. theoretically, the larger the surface area, the greater the transfer of energy changed the timer so the pump starts as the pool begins to get the sun, about 10:30 stopping at around 4:30 6 hours of free power, cos solar
  16. I did an experiment on my pool to see if I could get evaporative cooling working in the tropics and although it was far from scientific, it seemed to work So I had to drain about a 3rd of the water from the pool to get to my return outlets so I could glue in some barrel unions to make my risers secure also took the opportunity to properly mount my pool light that had been swinging off one screw since I had replaced said light about 2 years ago!!!! after finishing this project on Monday arvo and filling up the pool, the water temp was 31° for the past 2 days the daytime high has been 32° and 33° which normally means pool temp gets up to 33° because it is in full sun for the majority of the day went out yesterday for the whole day looking at property's on the tablelands checked the temp of the pool last night when we got home......................28° so I'm pretty stoked about that 29° to 30° was target temp cos that is perfect outside temp 30°, water temp 28° ....yay (today at 8:45 am) drilling into the pool shell was steady steady, new barrel unions glued in place and good to go All good for refill pool is 25000 liters total I would have drained about 8000 liters which would have cost me about $10 to $15 total project cost including pipe, fittings, water and re-balancing (2 bags of salt, 1 kilo of sunblock and 500mls of acid) was about $140 totally worth it as far as me and Mrs BCB are concerned this is the day of my "experiment, I since have changed the shape of the nozzles so there is less spray onto the surrounding tiles will post a pic when the pump turns on later
  17. went property searching today for some acreage on the tablelands saw this "unique" house and just had to stop for a pic even had a Falcon parked out front the folk up here are certainly different............................................................
  18. a bit ironic but me and Mrs BCB are looking at some acreage on the tablelands, with rainforest and a water supply we are looking at retirement and going "off the grid", so it will be solar install + battery we are checking out these 3 today: https://www.realestate.com.au/property-house-qld-topaz-128281674 https://www.realestate.com.au/property-acreage+semi-rural-qld-millaa+millaa-132341018 https://www.realestate.com.au/property-lifestyle-qld-jaggan-700064618
