  8. working on a super yacht, engineer comes up with a great solution for a problem, I agree and give him a ball park figure (up to 1 K) for us to manufacture and fit (which is really cheep) and he has to ask the owner if we can go ahead!

  11. I have Ubuntu on an old net book. It previously ran XP and has very low spec hardware. It now performs better than XP ever did. The first time I shut it down I thought it had crashed because it turned off almost instantly. The thing I like the most about it is the fact that it did not contribute to Gates being the greediest person on earth (last count, 79 billion) and its not so hard to use. I installed it as an experiment to see if an average person like myself could understand it and use it as easy as windows. It only took me one weekend to come to terms with it, and even managed to tether my phone and use it as a wireless hot spot first day in. Give it a go, what could possibly go wrong?
  12. here is a quote that might help "All in all, the Linux environment really calls for a do-it-yourself mindset. The kind of people who would most benefit from the freedom and openness of Linux are the people–men and women alike–who enjoy exploring, learning, and experimenting with what they’re given. Every Linux computer is unique, and that uniqueness comes from having to personalize a bunch of settings to your hardware and setup."
