  1. This arrived just before Christmas [emoji3] Installed it today [emoji39] It's not located in the ideal position (hot side of radiator from the CPU) I did want to put it at the other end of the radiator after the coolant had passed through just before the pump which would have been the coldest part of the loop but to difficult. But I'm still happy that I now have a reference for coolant temperature.[emoji39]
  2. Merry Christmas boys and girls hope you all have a wonderful day
  3. on a positive note my sparkie said that it might just be a loose connection to the switch but either way, you need a sparkie out there ASAP!
  4. Christmas in Australia is great just about to cruise down to the seafood shop and buy a couple of kilos of tigers and some fish. will be spending tomorrow at friends. all our family's are thousands of kilometres away sometimes that's the best way to be

  11. Of course I do. Big one in the boot is for the ladies. I get out with my piss ant fold up, get the big one from the boot, open the door for the ladies with big umbrella. [emoji3] Shivelry is not dead. [emoji41]
  12. I have a favourite piece of road I go straight to with new tires. scrubbed in total lean angle (for me) in just a few klms. this is what this favourite road does to my tires
  13. if you are an inexperienced driver the opposite is true. a LSD diff in the wet, the inexperienced driver is more than likely to swap ends (even in the dry) the single spinner on the other hand will just get a little bit out of shape and easier to get back under control. many a young driver has ended up wrapped around a tree or a pole cos they thought they had everything under control.
  14. its a bit like mowing the yard, it can be a bit of a chore in the heat, but the end result brings much pleasure
  15. I don't trust them with my bike for several reasons. # 1. safety: had a CBR 1000 took it to shop for new tires. got home and the rear brake caliper had been fitted incorrectly, had wound itself nearly 360 degrees around and was jammed against the top of the swingarm. # 2. Scratch and dent: some tire fitters are in such a rush to get through their work they can be somewhat careless about the body work. rushing is also the probable cause of # 1 # 3. abusing your pride and joy: leaving your bike and coming back at a pre determined time arranged with tire fitter only to find shredded rubber all over the swingarm and under the back guard. A friend of mine had an almost new R1 (first set of new tires) left it with them for a couple of hours, they had done a burn out with the old tire! # 4. my rims are Marchesini and in my opinion, are a work of art. I always stress to the tire fitter "please be very careful not to scratch the paint on the rims." it is much easier for me to carefully take the rims off and refit after new tires are on, also knowing that all nuts and pinch bolts are correctly tightened you know me K31th, I always come through with the goods
  16. Just an update for @Ezy2Confuze went to pool shop for water test (haven't done one since before I went down to Philip Island in October) cos lazy bastard. all it needed was 500 mls of acid and the chlorinater to be bumped up one click.
  17. Mrs BCB informs me that she doesn't know what to get me for Chrissy. I suggest new tyres for my Ducati guess where I'm going tomorrow with my bike rims in the boot?
  18. what did you use as a degreaser ? edit: looks great BTW where did you get that carbon cover from?
  19. ever since my inlaws got broken into ( Rosanna, Melbourne) we have been very security conscious. Always making sure we lock the doors at night or when we leave the house. we have not been broken into yet (seven different homes) During our house reno 5 years ago, we opted for crimsafe window and door screens (and a 1800 to 2000 high fence). obviously someone can still break a window to get in but most breakins are opportunistic thieves looking for cash or something that can be quickly sold. Making it hard to get in will stop the vast majority of would be thieves. If someone is determined to break in to your house, there is virtually nothing that will stop them, not even a vicious guard dog or security cams. It's not till after someone close to you has their privacy and house "violated" and they loose some treasured possessions do you understand the importance of simple security measures. ie: Easy's bike lock, simple but very effective
