had the exact same problem on G6ET years ago... unfortunately the whole dash had to come off for them (Ford) to fix it... and in the process they damaged my steering wheel, centre console & couple of other things which they had to also replace under warranty (still had to argue it though)... and let me tell you this, ever since it got replaced & I change from any setting to the windshield setting, there's always an audible noise/thud...

So my engine starting making this knocking/rattling sound this morning... any ideas what it could be?... It's a 2009 FG G6eT with about 165K on the clock..p>

Hey guys & girls... I'm back from hiatus & so is my G6ET, which has been under a dust cover for the last 2.5 years... can anyone of you recommend where I can go for a decent major service in the Moonee Ponds/Essendon area in Vic?... I'm trying to avoid Ford altogether as I've never been happy with their servicing...

Well I'm neither tall or wide and still find getting in and out a pain in the ass with the low steering wheel setting...they should have kept it the same as the BA/BF models...surely they should've known this would've irritated the driver?...then again...

Was 38 when I bought mine....and still enjoying it at 40.... The cardigan is also getting a bit of wear as well...

Bunna....yes, the buttons are still silver but the segments separating them are black. Thanks for the feedback, as the geese at the service dept had no idea and neither did Ford customer service when I called them.

So I got the steering wheel replaced under warranty (bit suprised to be honest) and after picking up the car, the new wheel looks and feels different to the old one?? The button surrounds are black instead of silver and the leather feels cheap. I went back to the service dealer today and queried it and they were none the wiser as to whether they installed the right/wrong one. Does anyone know whether Ford have recently upgraded or changed the type steering wheel in the G6ET's?

Hi all, Its been a while since I've been on the forums but anyhow, have any of you noticed any wear on the underside of your steering wheels? I've had the car for about 10 months or so and I noticed it a couple of days ago and I'm now convinced that the steering wheel position is too low (even when adjusted to its highest position) for getting in/out and not hitting/rubbing against it. Your thoughts?

Not sure if this has been raised before and the search funtion couldn't farken work for me...anyways..... So its been raining down here in Melbourne and I've noticed that the right wiper doesn't completely sweep over the right end area of the left wiper, leaving a rough area of 5cm that builds up rainwater and slowly trickles its way down....I would have thought that the numb-nuts at Ford would have picked up on something as simple as this....I'm pretty certain that my old BA T didn't have this?.....

maybe the soles were manufactured by Ford Performance Radials?....

I've had a couple of curious looks....I would have thought the Turbo badging would be a dead giveaway though... the 1st bloke to look was an old geezer and the missus was cracking up calling me grandpa....

I was given the slippers and smoking jacket by the dealer before I drove out....not sure whether they go with the mullet and metal music though....

So I finally picked up the car on Saturday....all I can say is wow....its as tight as a nuns proverbial....the power is effortless...and it makes my old T look like a toy....4 days in and I'm happy as a pig in sh*te.... will post pics up once the weather down here clears up and I get my complimentary G6E T bowlers cap, smoke pipe, cravat and cardigan for a group shot...

Just a quick one...finally signed on the dotted line on Saturday on the Ego G6E T (fark it was hard to find one)....I'll be taking delivery next week some time....don't mind, as it will give me time to say good bye to the XRT that's been with me for 4 & a bit years

I've decided to go with Ego....although Sensation with Cashmere leather was quite appealing at one stage - but then the kids factor came into it and ruled out that leather colour option.... btw has anyone seen the new colour - Harmony?....its supposed to be one of those colours that changes in different light/angle...I checked it out on the weekend and was not impressed...its like a light green that my old EB Falcon used to have....the Ford website colour is not a very good representation - which is no farking suprise...

Finally took one for a test drive today ...geez what a massive step up from my BA XRT....better handling, performance, dynamics, responsiveness, etc, etc....so now I'm sold on getting one over the XRT.... the only issue is...which colour?....my current ride is Silhouette (Black) and its absolute pain in the :o to keep clean....the dealer had a white one with 19's on it and it looked fantastic....I'm sorting of leaning towards Ego with the 19's.....ahh, I hate making these decisions....

Yeah...happy days indeed... I just got my Fords Friend Program form approved by HR and have it in my hands hot off the email..... So I've done the numbers on whether to buy a fully optioned XR6T (Luxury, Safety, Tech Packs with a few more goodies) or a G6ET with 19's and Safety pack. The difference between the 2 is less than $500. My current ride is a BA XR6T and I'm thinking it would be good to get into something a little more luxurious yet nasty at the push of the loud pedal. Plus, I'm thinking the G6ET would hold better resale value than the XR6T. Thoughts?

I got quoted full RRP price for an XR6T with luxury, tech & safety last week and couldn't stop laughing at the dealer....you would have thought in these economic times that they would play ball to sell some farking cars...the Expensive Daewoo dealership was prepared to sell me a VE Bogan special for $47K driveaway - very tempting to say the least....but its a farking Holden....

there's some nice cars at that auction site....a 1966 Shelby GT350 Fastback for $220K.....damn, where did I put my wallet....

just spotted a Mk II FG XR6...sorry about the crap quality photo...damn mobile phone cameras.... notice the "new" red XR6 sticker and the rear wing...farken awesome....
