  1. eBay, some tyre shop in Sydney or something. +71 freight to Perth. I'll find the link again later on. Edit - found link http://m.ebay.com.au/itm/NITTO-245-35R19-93Y-INVO-245-35-19-Inch-Tyre-2453519-HIGH-PERFORMANCE-TYRE-/251387319456
  2. Hey guys, looking around for some new rubber for the car, still running the stock 19" wheels, just after some advice. Tossing up between Nitto 245/35/19 Invo's at $261 a corner, and Michelin Pilot Super Sports at $325. Only planning on changing the rears at the moment, still have Nexxen N6000's on all 4's at the moment and they're holding on good but the rears will start baiting the cops soon. Daily use, track day once in a blue moon, looking for decent wear and naturally prefer closer to 250-300 a corner. Open to ideas/input - Cheers in advance, Jack.
  3. After picking up my FG MKII GT on Friday, I've started to notice a slight popping/knocking sound when cruising at low revs/coming to a halt, not the good kind of exhaust pop but more unnerving being able to feel it when my feet are off the pedals/cruise control is engaged. Might possibly be coming through the firewall but I doubt it - feels more directly under the pedals, had a quick glimpse under the car (haven't had much time after working all weekend) and only noticed the cat in the general area. Is this normal? Should I be worried about something major etc? Car is under stat warranty and should easily be able to get the dealer to fix something (even after I made them fit it with new brakes, tyres and fix a few small things pre delivery like wiper jets, window switches etc.) Just hoping the biggest purchase of my life so far isn't a lemon. Still amazed and scared by the power this thing has coming from a 6T and how economical it can be if you treat it well...
  4. CEVA (TNT) just offered 1650 fully enclosed Syd - Perth depot to depot. Not the worst offer I've seen, now just have to wait for the seller to reply. As much as I'd love to drive it back, work schedule will only really allow me 2-3 days off sadly and the thought of almost doubling the ODO reading in 4 days makes me sad. Although doing a few laps of Bathurst would be awesome, did Perth - Melbourne back in October with two 20 year old girls in the car, it's still giving me nightmares now.
  5. Yeah, spent the night searching around, will have everything this side organised just not sure how I'll go around transport. Need to go and get a quote for an enclosed trailer to get it shipped over, kinda iffy about the idea of it being in the open and rocks and seeing how sh*tty the great eastern was just before Coolgardie a few months ago.
  6. Also who did you ship with? Covered/uncovered etc. Starting to add this all up it's not proving too cost effective unless I can get him down to ~45k, looking at 5.5 just to fly, inspect, ship, register with another 1.2 for insurance and possibly another 2k for third party warranty? Let alone freight insurance (no clue on the price of that)
  7. Sweet - I was still under the impression that if I kept plates on it, I could drive it over here for 3 months then surrender plates and re-rego it in WA and not have to pay our stamp duty, just theirs? Doing the rego check, it's listed as a Falcon? Is that normal?
  8. Cheers Ralph, just wondering, if I don't have plates on it, how would I drive from say Perth -> Licensing centre for new plates. and would I just call up the NSW department of transport/equivalent and inform them the car is moving interstate in order to get reimbursed for the remaining months? Not going to lie, the 1500-2k saving on the stamp duty kind of enticed me, but oh well. pits - 70 bucks, plates - 30, rego - 700, stamp duty - 3k ball park?
  9. Okay, well. I test drove an auto F6 this evening and wow, I was amazed! However still looking for a manual and found this little gem here, http://www.carsales.com.au/private/details/Ford-Performance-Vehicles-F6-2012/SSE-AD-3147471/?Cr=2&sdmvc=1 Sent the guy an email - waiting to hear back. It's 3k cheaper than a 11,000k auto over here + stamp duty in Sydney would be 1500 ball park as compared to 3k+ in WA justifying the 1k return flights and accom and the 1200-1500 freight for the car back. All in all, what does one need to do in order to transfer the vehicle to WA? I had a gander at the DoT website and it made it sound like I had to pay stamp duty over there then stamp duty over here, other than that just show proof of ownership and pay for plates? Do I have to pay stamp duty on both ends or is NSW alone fine? And who should I talk to in order to get a general look over/someone to test drive it before I make the executive decision to fly over and test it myself, would any body be interested in a carton for doing so provided they had some mechanical knowledge/is the owner on here/does any body know the car? Cheers.
  10. Even then... 55k seems a bit excessive for 30k on the clock haha.
  11. Yeah, they're saying 'market value' and each dealership is only getting assigned X amount with Titan being the second largest and only getting 7. The next manual is due in March apparently. Figured it'd be easier to settle for a F6 which has been run in and I still get the old turbo boost with damn close to the same power for 10-15k less than RRP+ORC for the XR8, let alone the extra 15k 'market value' cost. Just need to wait until a manual pops up, even though this bad boy has been haunting me for a few days - http://www.carsales.com.au/dealer/details/Ford-Performance-Vehicles-F6-2012/AGC-AD-17044557/?Cr=5&sdmvc=1
  12. Cheers buddy, I know what you mean with the ZF and god is it lovely. But it's just getting boring driving now and slowly getting over the whole 'women drive autos' for the last few years. At the end of the day it's a daily driver which will hardly face traffic (shift work) and ET's down the 1/4 are being forced to the back of the mind as we all know where chasing the next hundredth leaves us... I've had a little gander over the forums here and there looking for issues with the MKII F6, all I could find was the usual diff noises and axel tramp, plastic interior, clutch noises etc. anything major other than that now they've been around for a few years?
  13. The old 08 BF XR6T is slowly creeping unto 160,000 so I decided to jump in and buy my first new car, that was until Ford quoted me 75k for the new XR8. As such I've been knocked down a peg being a full time uni student with a part time job and deemed anything past 60 was getting a bit risky price wise so instead the plan is now to get a FG MKII F6 provided the old 310kw XR6T rumours stay rumours.... My one major issue - so many automatics! I only just started looking into the F6's in the last week and the only two manuals I can find are both utes, I love my ZF box, but my left foot misses a clutch pedal even more, I was just curious - is there any reason to this? Were the Tremecs bad? Or is everyone with a manual too busy loving their car?
  14. yeah turbo, TPS is inside the accelerator isn't it? sealed unit?
