Thanks for all the help guys. Its fantastic. I don't need hand controls to drive so that isn't an issue, the hand brake doesn't even work, its really loose and I got sick and tired of paying $45 for them to tighten it to just have it loose again a couple of weeks again. SO the hand brake is not an issue. I don't ride the brakes or anything like that. The dealer just rang me to explain and he states I need two new tyres, two new discs and two new pads.

Its a BA and got it brand spanking new. I am pissed at the price and the thought they might be screwing me over at the same time.

I have a minimum 3 year warranty on the car and it is no where near 2 years yet. My wife was told that it was geuine wear and tear therefore my responsibility.

Hi everyone, I really hope some of you could help me out here. I own a GT Falcon which is the car of my dreams. I am in a wheelchair so I am unable to really look at all the technical stuff, for example brake pads and so on and rely heavily on the ford dealers to tell me whats going on. I took my car in for a 30000k service today however I got some concerning news. I couldn't go and drop it off or pick it up as I can't get on a bus to come home so my wife dropped it off and picked it up. WHen she got home she has shown me a receipt for the work done today and then a quote to make the car legal again. Apparently I need two new callipers, two new brake pads and two new tyres. All up for this to be done would be $3000. This car is only 30000k's old, I never mistreat it, I never drive it hard (as much as I would like too) and look after it. Is it possible that the brakes are gone after this amount of time? I told them that the brakes were squeeling to which they told me that it would just be that they are dirty as I haven't washed it in a couple of weeks. Also would the tyres be worn by now? They were rotated at 15000km's and now apparently they are worn and I shouldn't have even got the car back today. If that was the case then why did they give it back to us. Can anyone help with previous experience. Has this happened to anyone else this quickly. I don't know whether to believe them or not. My wife said they spoke to her quite rudely about it. I did a search for brake topics and noticed a lot of people have had brake problems, but surely they should last a little longer than 30000km's. Thanks for your help.

Hi Guys, I am wondering if anyone is interested in lending themselves and there GT for the afternoon on the 10th September. I am in Brisbane and the wedding is in Fortitude Valley and then the receptions is on Mount Cootha. It should be a total of about 3 hours and all up about 15 kms, so not far. I currently have a GT which will be used for myself and my wife to be however I would like to have another one there for the Bridesmaid and Best man. I am just checking to see if anyone is interested at the moment as I am getting desperate, I have rung a few dealers around here including the one that I bought mine from however they don't seem to interested at the moment. If you can help please let me know, There will be compensation obviously for your time and services. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Those 2 things are part of the same 'problem' or at least related. The aux input provided by Ford needs a higher level signal than some players provide - especially from a line-out. It is better to use the headphone out on your player and wind the volume up. In most cases this allows the level to match that from the other sources in your car (like FM radio, internal CD etc). Then, at this higher level, the engine noise/interfence is much less noticeable (provided you use a good quality cable for the connection. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> So would you say that the cable supplied by ford is a good quality one or a cheapo?

Thanks guys, I have a FM transmitter but am getting tired of changing the batteries every couple of weeks. I currently have a DVD player in my car and it goes into the Auxillary plugin however it has the same problem as you described. THere is like a winding up and down noise. They obviously haven't fixed it.

I was just wondering if anyone had an auxilary plug in there car for an mp3 player or tape player? I was just wondering what does it do, does it just plug into the headphone socket of your mp3 or tape player and then the cord goes into the auxilary setting on the stereo? Any help would be great as the ford dealer had no idea what it was and I am looking for something that does exactly as I described above.

About 2 months ago I wrote a post on here and it cost me #480 for 45000kms service. $80 to tighten the handbrake and so on. It was a disaster. Terrible

I ended up getting an auto as I am in a wheelchair so even though I can drive a manual car very easily the government don't seem to think so. But I am not getting into politics on here. The dealer I went through actually had a spot left this month so they have slipped in this month and I should be taking delivery of the beast either the last week of this month or first week of next month. But I don't have my hopes up, I know what dealers are like. Say one thing do another.

Thanks guys, I am absolutely dying to get my car. I was told that it should be here last week in April or first week in May. But we will see. I didn't get many options, I just got Sat Nav as I have that in my car at the moment and couldn't do without it. I got the rapid with black stripes. It should look great.

Howdy Everybody I have won over two girls hearts in the last 24 hours. I got engaged last night and I have a GT on order this morning. You have no idea how big the smile is on my face right now. Bring on the wedding day and the new car.

I am going to write a letter in the coming week and if nothing eventuates out of this I will be lodging a complaint straight away. A hint as to which dealership it is, it is in indooroopilly and it starts with d and ends in c. I will let everyone know if I get a reply or how I go.

Thanks guys!!!!! Nice to know I was ripped off by about $200 At the time I just paid it as I wanted to just get out of there. The excuse they gave me was that there is quite a lot checks that need to be carried out at this particular service. Do you think a letter will be enough to let them know. Can't you guys all come up to Brisbane and storm down the front door of the dealers with me and my $200 back. Now that you guys have written all this it has made me even more furious to get some of that money back.

Hello everyone, I had my 2003 turbo in for a 45000km service last week and left it there with only one problem and that was to tighten the hand brake. When I picked it up the total cost of the service was $471. It cost me $80 to tighten the hand brake but all up it cost me $291 in labour. Ouch. Surely that can't be normal or have I just been getting it good for the other services I've had. Can someone please tell me that I wasn't ripped off. Thanks Michael

Oh, I get it now. Of course!!!!! Does anyone know where you can get interior pictures of the TS territory because I had a look at the ford site and all they show is a ghia.

The only thing I don't get and this is hard to explain so excuse me if I don't say correctly but at the same dealer when I trade in a car they are taking the territory ghia price as $50000, but when I said I didn't want to trade in a car and want to sell privately they quoted me a written price of $46500. If only the quoted me that price when I started I would have taken it. But they can't do it for me at that price if I am trading the car. Weird. I'm just wondering what the TS is like. Maybe that might be the go!!! I will have to go and have a look at one.

Thanks for all your help guys!!! The satellite navigation system is a ford factory option and cannot be taken out of the car. It comes up on the screen on the dash. Maybe it is just out of my reach and I will have to stick with the turbo. Thanks

Hello everyone!!!! I really need your help everyone. My name is Michael and I have a xr6turbo which I picked up in May last year. However I am in a wheelchair and I am finding it very difficult to get in and out of the turbo these days as I find it hard to slide across but find it easier to stand up and get in. I have test driven the new territories and am very interested in these. The problem is I went around and did all the shopping and I already have a loan out on my turbo through my family and can't really afford to borrow too much more. I was quoted $12228 changeover on my car on a new territory ghia. I require the ghia because I have very arthritic hands and so the less things I have to manually change such as seat positions and so on the better. This price is out of my league as I will find myself paying off the car for the rest of my life. As much as I love the turbo and don't want to get rid of it I really need to get rid of it. I was wondering if anyone knew how much a car like mind would be worth to sell privately. It has 40000kms on the clock and has satellite navigation and a dvd player in the back which were all gifts to me for my birthday last year. They are genuine ford parts though. I have been quoted a new Territory Ghia at $46500 which doesn't include tax because I am exempt due to my disability and would like to know how much my car would be worth privately and how close it would be to the above figure!!! I live in Brisbane if that makes any difference. ' If anyone could tell me it would be greatly appreciated. I was there as well and I thought it was the best concert I have ever been to. We don't get many good acts out here very often and I thought it was just spectacular. I wanted to fly to sydney on the friday night and see them again, but my wallet said no.

I have had so many problems with mine yet nothing ever gets logged on the computer. I find that really strange, Sometimes I wonder if they are actually reading the computer or not.

Mine has always had a problem when braking and stopping at lights. The revs drop down to about 350 - 450 and the car gets the wobbles up as if it is about to stall. However, the other day I was pulling out onto a busy road (Milton Rd Brisbane for anyone who knows the area) and it just stalled as I was coming out of fhe servo. I just had to restart it but I don't like the sound of this. I need a reliable car and I don't need any more problems than what I have already had. I'm thinking about hanging out till the 30000 k service which is due soon and seeing if there is a fix for it hen.

I was very interested in this and was wondering if there is a website around that has more detail on it.
