I had my G6ET in for a service today and one of the problems I got them to fix for me was that the phone option in the menu had disappeared. They reset it for me. I mentioned that I had an iphone and he stated that presently these were not compatible (even though it works sometimes and not others) and this can cause the Bluetooth system to freeze which it had done in my case. However, he did state that Ford have developed a device for iPhone's in particular and this will be released in the coming weeks. He further stated that it was not just a software upgrade for the ICC but a device installed in the vehicle. It will cost around $80 and will not be included and will have to be purchased. He has received one for him to have a look at and for training purposes and will be taking orders upon Ford's announcement shortly. I am starting to think that this is just a Ford Branded Bluetooth device rather than anything flash. So for iPhone users keep your eyes out for it and hopefully it will fix all our problems.

Hi everyone, I bought a G6ET in October last year. Absolutely love the car and have had no problems whatsoever. However, I also got the GPS Navigation System installed with the traffic updates. This worked an absolute treat for ages and then a couple of months ago it just stopped. It seems it never picks up the traffic info anymore. I am in Brisbane and I am definitely within range of the required radio station. Just wondering if anyone else had a similar problem and if so how they got around it. It would be good to get it working again. Cheers

Hi Guys, I have a 2008 G6ET and I am still loving it. I was just wondering has anyone modified the exhaust at all, either for better sound or performance? Any suggestions as to what should be done and also will this void warranty at all? Cheers

Hmmm, I have the factory sat nav and after reading this I have caught a bug to get something on that screen. Someone must know something out there!!!!!

Howdy everyone, I am now considering a iPhone and wondering if they have finally worked out a update for it to work properly? Has anyone had any success to date?

If it is not working, take the car to the dealer and get them to update the software. This happened with mine and once the update was completed it worked perfectly.

Are you talking about the in dash sat nav or one of the window mount ones that ford sells?? I have the in dash one, and it works a treat however I live in Brisbane not Sydney. Just one thing to keep in mind is that mine often drops out and it doesnt seem to scan to see if it can pick the signal up again. The only way I have found to do this is to go to info, click on TMC Channels and select the first option. It then reconnects and you should be right. Otherwise there may be something going on in Sydney with the system but Im not sure.

This is a bit of a different question but comes under the heading of G6ET Question. Under the menu on the instrument cluster there is an option for "Lane Change". Does anyone know what this actually does?

Awesome mate, let us know if it works or not. One thing to keep in mind as well, and this is something I learnt with my iPod rather than iPhone, when the computer asks do you want to update the software on your phone, the car wont recognise it. When I bought my iPod it worked fine but then I updated the software on the iPod and it didnt work at all. So had to revert back to the original software. I know that has nothing to do with bluetooth but thought just incase you ran into trouble with it.

Wow it must be getting exciting now it is so close!!!! I have had mine for about 2 months now and loving it. As for fuel I tend to use Premium all the time especially now that the fuel prices have gone down dramatically. I have tried normal unleaded and have noticed a large reduction in economy so have stuck with premium after that. I owned a 2005 GT before this which was premium only so having a choice now is heaven for me. As for paint protection, it depends on who you talk to. My personal opinion is that it only creates shine to your car and with it being a new car anyway I cant really see no point in it. However it is your choice mate. My G6ET is black so I wasnt going to get it however it worked out cheaper for me to get the protection pack and window tinting than to just get the windows tinted. Dont ask me how but I got it anyway. One thing I do recommend though is getting the leather protected. You want it to last as long as possible. Whatever program you use you have to burn it as a data cd and not a music cd. My G6ET allows you to put folders on the cd. So I just create folders and then drop songs into it like you said. WMA could be your problem though, I have tried some WMA files and they didnt play so now I convert all my songs to mp3 format. Maybe try making a cd of just mp3 files and see if it works.

Im not trying to be smart here at all but just stating incase you had not checked. The iphone is compatible but only with the latest software update. Have you been to your dealer and had the software updated?

No, unfortunately it did not come up when my phone was paired however will try my wifes phone which is a different model phone.

Just a quick update on the bluetooth front that may interest some people. Yesterday I had my car in for the 3000km service and a new version of the bluetooth software was installed. Previously the bluetooth system would just shut down and not work after 5 minutes and you could not get it to work again until you turn the car off and on again. This has now been rectified with this update I believe as I was on a phone call for well over 20 minutes and it was showing no signs of cutting out. So hopefully all is good now.

Mine is similar, except mine is exactly 5 minutes, on the phone for 5 minutes and gone. Until I restart the car it will not work again. I am hoping they have a fix for it very soon as it is driving me nuts. Does anyone know if Ford is planning an update to the firmware in the vehicles any time soon?

Mine is fantastic, WHEN IT WORKS. Mine will work for a call and then when you hang up, someone else will ring and you cant hear them and they cant hear you. If I pull over and turn the car off and start it again all is good, The car is only a week old so hopefully I dont have the latest software and I can get it updated when I get the first service done.

Yeah you were pretty close with that guess of yours!!!! We are just taking it for a drive now and taking the camera with us for some happy snaps so will post some up later this afternoon (If I can stop driving it)

Holy Hell!!! Just went outside and was able to put the SD card in. Thanks so much for telling me where it was as I would have never found that at all. Works a treat now!!!

Yeah what a drama it has been but yeah finally got it. I took it for a spin straight away and absolutely love the power. My previous car was a GT and I am finding the power comes on a lot quicker for obvious reasons and am loving it. Yeah my GT has the DVD one in the boot which was easy, just eject and so on. The book states insert the SD card into slot 2, wherever the hell that is.

Hi everyone, Can anyone tell me where the SD card for the FG Factory satellite navigation goes? Any help would be greatly appreciated as my dealer and I have no idea where it goes? Thanks Michael
