Hi All I have the Pro Comp model. Dearer at $250US, try Summit Racing (USA), (also an RR model at 200US.) The Comp model lets you store results & later download to PC. Can save specs for 4 cars. Has a few more features - torque & power curves, shift lights. Will read metric and imperial. Have not tested times at a strip, my best so far was a 14.3sec, 0-100 in 7.x sec. Interesting to play with, need some good clear flat road for best use. A little fiddly to mount, but gets the job done. Here's an example of the power curve. (Big dip is the rev limiter cut out.) More questions? I'll see if I can help. Mr66
  4. It is definately coming from the cross bolt, can see the stream coming over the lip in the sump casting, then runs rearwards. Dont want to know about main seal leaks, though I'm sure that'll be soon on the shopping list! Dealer said this morning they may put some sealant under the bolt head, not sure if they did, I'll do it myself anyway. That pic I took was how I bought it @ 9900km. Have since changed oil, now it is a clean leak! Thanks YCL for the pics from the manual.
  5. Would anyone have any knowledge of any TSB's in relation to an oil leak from the cross bolts through the sump into the main caps? Have retightened mine, (rear RH), but continues to leak. Anyone with any workshop manual, do these bolts have any form of seal? Won't go pulling it out for a look until I can get the correct torque to retighten, expect to be draining 1/2 the sump by removing the bolt... Useless dealer blamed the leak on the rocker cover gasket, and supposedly replaced that - but didn't, do they think we're all F idiots... Not a bad scam in the end, bill ford for a warranty repair that they never even do. Lying, cheating b@stards! Thanks Mr66
  6. Bit off topic, Saw someone lucky enough to be driving a Shockwave F6 through Caboolture, QLD this evening, took a second look to see it was no ordinary XR. Have to wonder why the intercooler was painted silver, is that normal? Mr66
  7. Alan, Here are some jpgs from my gtech showing just what happens at the rev limit in first gear. That certainly woke me up when it happened, thought I'd killed the bloody thing! So now I know to start the change at 5500 (auto), before limit, (shift lights on gtech perfect for the heads up). Mr66
  8. Nice work indeed. Has me thinking why ford would mold those air boxes with all the ribs inside...??? Must play havoc with disturbing the air flow ie turbulence.... Anyone thought of die grinding the ribs smooth? I guess it would need a standard and modded box to try on sequential dyno runs for the most accurate results. Mr66
  9. This very afternoon, I can add to the list the drive belt tensioner "gone", rattles liked a F.U. vn dunnydoor. Strangely enough, I only just picked it up from the 3 day service job to fix a big paint chip. Apprentice in a hurry to collect the lunches maybe....??? Also has standard features: diff whine shuddering power steer at low speed engine oil leak from cross bolt ( or rocker cover if you believe the service lot) starter cable hanging low and rubbing surface rust on machined underbody parts and driveshaft - c'mon Mr ford a 2$ can of supercheap matt black goes a long way. and still looking. Can anyone in the Brisbane area recommend a dealer that will look after the car and not treat you like an idiot.....? Blatant lies not acceptable! Mr66
  10. Go the Vixen, with dark windows, keep the stripes to darken the overall colour. But it must be kept super shiny, otherwise that flat red look will prevail. Mr FoMoCo, Why delete Venom....? The rapid just does not suit the BA sedan shape. Also, as someone else pointed out, the yellow is impossible to keep clean, a short drive will have a yellow car's rear shrouded in brake dust, all those gaps..... painful. Anyway, lets have Fords own hero colour and not copy the other lot. (Am liking Velocity myself....) Mr 66

    Turbo Ute Insurance

I was told one time by CGU that utes were now in the same group with 4WD's, that put the price of my 96 VS 5L to $750+, rating 1, limited use etc, etc. Have my sedan with Shannons at $560/yr, was quoted $690 at Suncorp, (Qld) Hope this helps Mr66

Thanks again everyone, what a monster response. Mrs66 wrapped as well, " so have we got something special then..." Yeah, say no more. Now, everyone seems to be in some obsession phase, well I can tell you that happened long ago, the T is just another extension. Have been into Fords for a while, even liked the odd gmh as well, hey, a nice car is a nice car right? Certainly more than mere transport! To the Qld boys, Probably wont make any runs this week, but we liked the sound of the trip to the stone bros fan day if that might still happen. Also must confess a minor timing glitch with my gtech #'s, the 1/4 time is ok, but that 0-100 was grabbed from a file without thinking, should be 7.4sec, oops. 6.3 is what you get having it time going downhill, but hey sounds good in the bar room shootout! And for Mr KEN24T, if I'm not mistaken, I believe Idbewarin' a lovely nearly "new" set of standard dunlops....I'm a factory person, takes something real nice to knock the original gear. OK, got some research to do. Cheers All

Hi All, Just introducing myself & my Envi T. I'm Jim from Brisbane northside. It's a stocker, with the usual doo-dads. June 04 build, demo w 10K. Got the T over the holidays, done a few kms getting to know it. Am thoroughly impressed with the package, love the SSS auto as well. Had the VIP paint treatment done - can recommend that for a special finish. Hope the pics below come through. Funny enough, mine comes with std diff whine as well, but doesn't seem as prominent anymore. No signs of overboost, for anyone following that line. Guys, keep an eye out for starter motor cables hanging low / rubbing on the steering x-member, and oil leaks from the cross bolted main caps. Have had a play with a Gtech, ran 14.4@102, best 0-100 was 6.3sec, still learning the best way to drive. You reckon Ford really knows just what a following these cars will have.... Cheers for now

24 Dec, was quoted 41990 driveaway, auto, metalic paint, colours maybe limited. (QLD dealer.) Paid 39990 for July 04 demo, 9K kms, Premium sound, tint, mats, XR grille, Envi plexis interior. A reasonable deal I thought....
